4 out of 5 eggsGreat mini-ITX board

Pros: Dual Cores and 4 threads with the Intel Atom 525. Low power and 6 SATA connectors. Added 8 Gig, 4 more than advertised as workable. Runs cool even without mounting CPU fan. Even runs MS Windows 8.1 and MS Windows 2K12 R2.

Cons: SATA 3 and not SATA 6. PCI and not PCI express, takes full size micro PCI express and no way to fit in a half-size micro PCI express such as a standard half-size WiFi card. I wish the daughter cards from Jetway included high resolution video, or just even an HDMI or DVI instead of just VGA output on the m/b. The Intel ATOM does not support hardware virtualization technology so, no hyper-v with this board.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I needed

Pros: Mini-ITX, silent, 6 SATA ports, Intel LAN, dual LAN, the list goes on and on. Runs Ubuntu Server 13.04 like a champ. Set up bonding on the ethernet ports and have a RAID5 setup with 5 1TB drives for a home server. Everything works well and has more than acceptable speed. Processor barely seems to be working hard most of the time.

Cons: Won't run Ubuntu 13.04 Desktop without problems. Seems as if the graphics can't keep up. Not really an issue for me, but worth mentioning.

Other Thoughts: Makes for a great NAS, home server, or generic low-power server solution.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Mini Server

Pros: Fanless dual core machine.
Able to add daughterboard for 5 total gigabit ethernet ports.
Auto-crossover ethernet ports.
Ridiculous number of SATA ports.
Ridiculously low power.
Fits in a case barely bigger than most routers.

Cons: With daughterboard installed, it takes a bit longer to boot.
Can't seem to find a wifi card that fits this board that is capable of 'master mode'.
Runs a bit hot in the case I have, but stays comfortably below critical.

Other Thoughts: I have this serving my house, running Ubuntu Server 10.04, performing the following roles:
DNS Server
DHCP Server
NAT
Bridge-Utils (to create the 4 bridged 'LAN' ports)
Apache/MySQL/PHP/Ruby/Python/etc.
Samba file server
CUPS server
Neorouter Server

Western Digital SSDs (RAID1) in a fanless case, making this fully solid state. It's kind-of eery.
2GB Crucial Memory.

Newegg rocks. The end.

1 out of 5 eggsGood Part Bad Newegg

Pros: The part works as advertised and as desired. Low Power, decent processing performance running Ubuntu in a home server application

Cons: Price. This is the only MOBO I could find with 6 SATA ports. Thats why I bought it. Hard to believe that the SATA controller and connectors and CCA complexity could drive the cost to double what comparable boards cost with fewer SATA ports.

Other Thoughts: I gave 1 egg because newegg treated me unfailry on a recent RMA. Customer Service is great but RMA deparment decided to pin something on me that I wasn't responsible for. I will never purchase from newegg ever again.

5 out of 5 eggspfSense, just fine.

Pros: Inexpensive, fanless.
Can add more Intel NICs via daughterboard.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Works with Crucial 4GB (2 x 2GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CT2KIT25664BC1339

4 out of 5 eggsNice disk performance

Pros: ICH9R on this is pretty nice. I am running two SSDs in RAID0, getting 386 /MBs seq read and 275MBs seq write.
Installed easy, my first Jetway board, I always use Asus / Gigabyte. This was a breeze. Crucial RAM worked fine.

Cons: It is software raid though, and it appears when you are pushing it hard it can take up to about 20% of the CPU.

Graphics performance leave a lot to be desired, but this was meant to be a file server / media server.

LPT (DB45) port not included, but there is a pinout on the motherboard. Instead, they included a second DB9 connection, which is redundant in my case.

Other Thoughts: It's not bad so far. Bios config was easy, driver install was easy.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet, reliable, solid mini ITX motherboard

Pros: - dual Intel gigabit LAN adapters
- Jetway daughterboard expansion
- ability to use MORE than 4 GB of RAM (with 64-bit OS)
- plenty of SATA connections
- fanless = quiet
- lower power consumption (total system power via Kill-A-Watt meter is 55-64W)
- solid core capacitors for reliable long term operation
- straight forward BIOS settings

Cons: - SATA is 3 GB/s
- had an issue with resuming from S3 sleep and high 30-35% CPU usage in Win 7 x64 SP1 - since resolved
- cost/performance is low compared to other solutions

Other Thoughts: Purchased this motherboard for use as a Slimserver (read: Logitech) media server. I wanted a silent, extremely reliable, and power efficient setup. I am pleased with my purchase. This is my first Jetway branded motherboard - I have used almost all of the major brands previously.

I am using a total of 8 GB of memory from Crucial (model #CT2KIT51264BC1339) and can report that all is working 100% even though the max memory capacity listed by Jetway is 4GB.

I am running Windows 7 x64 SP1 with my system and I have quite aggressive power savings settings enabled. I did have an issue with this motherboard resuming from S3 sleep when a remote magic packet was used. Tracking this issue down was very time consuming, but ulitmately, a combination of firmware (A04_w) and updating driver's via the Intel website seemed to have solved it.

Associated Equipment:
Apex MI-008 mini ITX case w/250W PSU
1 x Noctua 120mm fan
8GB RAM Crucial CT2KIT51264BC1339
Windows 7 SP1 x64
Samsung F1 1TB HD

4 out of 5 eggsReliable, well constructed mini ITX motherboard

Pros: - dual Intel gigibit LAN ports
- Jetway expansion card slot
- can use MORE than 4 GB memory with 64-bit OS
- power efficient, cool running
- Raid capability
- solid caps for long term reliability/stability
- large number of SATA ports

Cons: - high cost for motherboard, let alone an Atom D525 based one
- SATA ports only support 3 GB/s transfer rate
- slight problem with high CPU consumption when resuming from S3 sleep - solved through trial and error with firmware (A04) and drivers

Other Thoughts: I purchased this motherboard for use as a Slimserver (read: Logitech) media server platform and I am not disappointed. I wanted extremely low power consumption. I am running Win 7 Pro x64 SP1 and can confirm that 8 GB of RAM is indeed usable although Jetway's website states that max RAM is 4 GB. I had some inital problems with remotely resuming my system from S3 sleep using magic packets - once it awoke, the CPU usage was 30-35% and therefore would be unable to return to sleep on it's own. After firmware A04 and some driver updates via Intel's website, it appears that this issue has been rectified. I like the inclusion of the dual Intel gigabit LAN ports and the ability to add additional ports via a Jetway daughter card. This will assist those who wish to use this motherboard as a fileserver.

I am fully realize that more computing power can be purchased for the same or less cost, but the power consumption will suffer.
