4 out of 5 eggsOk but NOT fanless

Pros: Compact, low power, runs FreeBSD(Pfsense).

Cons: Runs EXTREMELY hot. They make it appear as though this is a fanless board. It is not. It comes with a fan but that fan is entirely incapable of keeping the system cool. While I realize the D2700 supposedly can operate at 90C safely you wont find a motherboard and components this small that will tolerate that. I ended up using a 120mm variable controlled fan, which worked great for it, and drilling holes in my small itx case. When in an environment of about 22F the system will hold around 45C with the fan. Without the fan and completely idle it runs around 62C. If you push the system I imagine you are probably going to see a lot of other components on this board go up in smoke. I was not willing to try and push it long enough to find out.

Other Thoughts: They should show this with a fan and it should come with a more adequate fan.

5 out of 5 eggsNice board but be careful and pay attention

Pros: Very nice board, lots of features for the cost.
Running pfSense 2.1, just a few Watts, 1% CPU usage (I don't run many packages nor push lots of data through it)

Cons: LAN is Realtek 8111EVL. This is not supported well in FreeBSD. 8.3 supports it properly. So if you're thinking pfSense you have to use version 2.1 or you won't have ethernet.

Other Thoughts: PCIe would be a plus.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdate to DOA

Pros: Raising to three eggs. The documentation says that one can use a 20 or 24 ping power supply. This was not the case. A 20-pin power supply did not work, but when replaced by a 24-ping, the system powered up OK.

Cons: Documentation is somewhat incorrect and scanty.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Easy install. Replaced older Jetway VIA board in same form-factor case. Four screws and a few connectors. Should've been easy.

Cons: DOA. Case fans power up on power on, but no HDD light, no video. Tried single SODIMMs in SODIMM2 slot, as instructed. Nothing on either the HDMI or VGA ports. No sign of activity.

4 out of 5 eggsResponse to Zman

Pros: Same as before

Cons: Same as before

Other Thoughts: While it *will* run 64 bit OS (I'm currently running WHS 2011 on one) there are no drivers written for the GMA 3650 graphics which means you'll get standard video, no aero and probably no dual display. Intel says they have no plans to release 64 bit drivers in the future either.

Also, there are currently no XP drivers available and ETA on those drivers is April-May 2012.

Another funny thing is that when this chipset released, Intel also removed 64 bit support and previously published video drivers from their support site for the 525, 520 and 410 atom motherboards. Very strange. Glad I have backups.

4 out of 5 eggsA very nice board

Pros: I am not sure what the other two posters had problems with but I am running Ubuntu 64bit on this same processor Intel D2700. Even hyperthreading seems to be working as well. I am running two concurrent x264 encoding streams @ 60% cpu utilization (avg 4 cores) and my kill-a-watt show only 25 watts!

Cons: Wish it was a bit faster but pretty good for an atom chipset.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Board

Pros: Pretty quick, somewhere between P4-3.2ghz & 2.0GHz Core2Duo speeds.
Supports Win7, WinXP, Ubuntu very well
Win 7 took 10-15 mins to install (Win 7 detected everything but the NICS)
Ubuntu took 30 mins to install (Capable of supporting 6 instances of WinXP concurrently in Virtualbox --at 93% mem use. Proc @ 40% utilization)
Stays cool without additional fans

Cons: Processor does not support 64bit OS. AT-ALL. Ubuntu 11.10 failed to reconize atom chip as x64. Terrible limitation of this mb/processor. BIOS settings for booting to USB flash irritating because if it doesnt detect the boot partition on USB drive it wont let you boot from it. It has some generic form of UEFI that I'm not a fan of.

Other Thoughts: Purchaced this board from a prebuilt mini-itx vendor because newegg didnt have the board in stock for 2 weeks.
Jetway 2.13 mini-itx mothboard/proc
4 gigs ram
250gb sata hdd
