5 out of 5 eggsGreat board!

Pros: Four PCI slots, so I can use my old sound card setup. Used this on my first computer build, and it was pretty easy to figure out.

Cons: I have not had any problems with this board

Other Thoughts: great board for those of us who want to hang onto their old PCI cards.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Full ATX layout. Plenty of input/output options. Native PCI (Thanks to the Q77 chipset). Non EFI Bios ( I personally do not like them).

Cons: Not sure if its the board or my SSD. Occasionally it'll hard lock or flat out reset and my SSD disappears (or the board doesn't even boot) until I reset it a few times. I've pondered it being a power supply issue as well but, its so random I can't reproduce it.

Other Thoughts: Specs - 3770K, 4GBs DDR3-1600 (generic), 240GB Intel 335 SSD, Auzentech sound card, Nvidia GT230.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Pro Tools HD Motherboard

Pros: 4 natively supported PCI slots & Ivy Bridge/Sandy Bridge CPU support.

Cons: None that I can find so far.

Other Thoughts: If you need a computer for a Pro Tools HD PCI-x system (PCI-x Core & Accel cards work fine in standard PCI slots), this is the place to start. With an Ivy Bridge i5 or i7 CPU this will run bunches & bunches of RTAS plugins too. Native PCI support is almost impossible to find today, except on this Jetway JNAF93-Q77. One of the easiest builds I've ever done, running Win7 Professional 64 bit.

The specs here indicate support up to DDR3-1333, but the motherboard manual indicates DDR3-1600 is supported. I purchased & installed G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) - Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL - Newegg # N82E16820231428 and CPU-Z indicates it is indeed running at DDR3-1600 speeds with proper 9-9-9-24 timing, I just enabled XMP profile in the BIOS.

All 4 PCI slots allow full length HD cards to be installed without major blockage (a couple of SATA ports may need a little extra thought, but I'm not using those at the moment). I'm running an HD2 rig with the core in the slot closest to the PCIe video card and an Accel card in the next one down. There is one user on the DUC who reports success with an HD4. I plan to get there at some point, but right now I have two UAD1 cards in the last two PCI slots running without issue. This is one solid motherboard for Pro Tools HD.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat board

Pros: this board was easy to set up and install with i5 ivybridge and 16G of ram. It is a perfect match for older pro tools PCI cards and pro tools 8-10. Super fast ... tons of dsp and tdm/rtas plugs for the big projects.

Cons: no serial mouse or keyboard ports

Other Thoughts: HDMI and lots of USB with 2 ethernet ports makes connecting to control surfaces easy

5 out of 5 eggsBest Board For Pro Tools HD PCI

Pros: Works Great with older Digidesign Pro Tools PCI cards, Makes a great HD4 plus 3 PCIe slots for other connections. Can run Pro Tools 10HD TDM on a Ivy Bridge i7. Dual ethernet ports

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I used this board to bring new life into my aging Pro Tools HD PCI system. Building a PC with this board cost far less than buying a dead end expansion chassis.
