1 out of 5 eggsMy experience was terrible

Pros: It did the best it could I suppose, which was not much.
Installed Vista 64 up until the point at which it reboots for
the first time. Then BSOD, "A clock interrupt was not received
in the allocated time interval". No way to fix unless maybe you have an old AMD processor laying around and could flash the
BIOS to the newest successfully.

Cons: New build, dropped it in w/ AMD Phenom 9600, 4gb Gskill, Vista 64bit home premium, and other stuff, all from Newegg. Couldn't flash BIOS, ASRock support not much help, plus they were not available on day one, only open about 8 hours a day. I think they only have one tech supp guy. Pretty sad. RMA'd this MB and Phenom 9600 for refund because it will NEVER work without using a different processor to flash bios, install vista 64, etc etc... Unless of course you get lucky... Bought a Intel Q6600 and Gigabyte P35, they worked perfect... So do that. What's $100 or so more for PERFECTION?

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The layout of this motherboard is excellent making it a perfect board for anyone willing to get their hands wet for the first time. I barely had to look at the manual at all. I am using the Phenom 9600, 2 GB memory 800 mghz, centurion case and a 550 watts ps. All from Newegg.com.

Cons: Consider the price of this mb, there is none.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to download all the latest updates from Microsoft if using vista 64 bit. Faling to get them might result in false values being reported for your speed and memory.

5 out of 5 eggsASRock RAWKS

Pros: You would have to be pretty naive to not realize the US economy is tanking and we are headed into a massive recession. So you need to invest wisely and ASRock is one of those WISE choices. You get a LOT of bang for your buck. If you are a big fan of AMD and nVidia like me, you cannot go wrong with this mobo. Installation was a breeze and it worked perfectly right out of the box. I didn't even have to set the date/time. The drivers that came on the install CD worked fine with my Vista load and no updates were necessary. Doesn't get any better than that!

Cons: The only thing I would change about the mobo is the location of the power connector. You have to be careful that the wires don't get tangled in your CPU cooling system.

Other Thoughts: I have mainly used MSI mobo's in the past and decided to try ASRock for a change. I am very happy with my WISE investment and would highly recommend getting one from Newegg today. I am using this mobo with: Raidmax case, AMD 5400+, Corsair DDR2 800, and Rosewill CPU cooler ...all from Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid performance for reasonable cost

Pros: This is the second ASRock mobo I've purchased, and it has turned out to be a solid performer. I'm running this with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (dual core @ 2.8 GHz) and 4 GB RAM.

Cons: POST takes a little longer than I'd like, and there is no "quick POST" option in the BIOS.

On board video bogged down at highest settings on Halo, but I didn't expect it to match a separate card's performance.

Other Thoughts: I consider the cons to be minor issues. I'm willing to wait a little for POST to complete for the excellent performance this delivers overall.

4 out of 5 eggsdouble shipping charge? and ups stink

Pros: First mb is DOA and this one works. RAID 5 supported with NCQ

Cons: 1. Can not mix Raid 0 and single Sata hdd, either all Raid 0 or simple sata hdd. Riad function won's support over IDE.
2. NO pc health monitor for OS, you only can see it in BIOS.
3.Booting devices sequence is not very flexable.
4. Don't bother write to Asrock for support, they would ask you to speak to your dealer.
5.I doubt this MB can truly support AM2+ because the FSB is 11000 not 2600. Amd quad cpu will be handicaped in this MB.

Other Thoughts: My first ASrock mb is DOA, no posting. RMA it back to Newegg However due to back order, Newegg refunded my order and said it would expect 2-25-08 in stock. I already lose my shipping fee. Three days later after my refund, I saw the mb back in stock and ordered it again with $5 jacked up price. Totally this mb cost me 2 shipping charges and $5 more. Tracking order advised me that my mb would be delived on 2-26-08. ON 2-27-08, I did not receive my mb and checked my tracking order one more time. It said the mb was delivered on 2-26-08 with a comment "porch". I went outside my house and saw my mb sitting in the corner of my porch which I can not see from the front of my house. The bottom of the box was wet and inside the mb box was dry. I do not understand why UPS did not left a note. UPS is stink.
Cool n quite works in mine. Make sure one knows how to install proper driver and knows how to enable it in OS. Just enable it in BIOS won't do a thing for you.

5 out of 5 eggsNice for Windows Home Server

Pros: Hardware raid easy to setup, cool-n-quiet works with 4 pin fan, onboard video keeps server power low.

Cons: IDE cable that came with MB was bad in a way that caused BIOS to crash! Suspected everything else (cpu, memory, ps, etc.).

Other Thoughts: Ditched bad IDE cable for nice rounded one and all works great. Expect to set up the RAID again after a BIOS upgrade.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price
Phenom compatibility out of the box
Decent onboard components
Onboard Sata worked with my hard drives and my SATA DVD-burner

Cons: The onboard GPU is pretty weak, it can't do 1280x1024 at all, not really a problem since it is a budget solution and not meant to be a gaming GPU.
Can not seem to run my crucial memory at full 1066 speed but 800mhz runs great.

Other Thoughts: Mark - For Cool N quit to do anything you have to set the power setting to minimal power management in the control panel/power options. After that it will down clock the processor depending on the load. It works on my system exactly as advertised.

A really good board for the money, doing a fresh build and wanting to move to the phenom put me in a bind, as most mobo's out at the time supported phenom but didn't necessarily come out of the box with the support and without a spare AM2 processor to boot with to update the bios it was imperative to get something that would run immediately. Price was another huge factor for me because I needed a new motherboard, processor and ram and I wasn't really in a good spot to spend too much money. Once I figured out that my first stick of ram was bad and removed it I haven't had a problem since and this has been a real good value for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks!

Pros: I have had good luck with ASrock and this board was no exception. Has good features for the money and takes phenom processor.

Cons: Would like 2 ide connecters but for the price can live with it.
