4 out of 5 eggsDOA?

Pros: Good value, good reviews from Toms hardware, lots of features for overclockers. Good performance #'s

Cons: The 2nd channel on dual channel memory slots were killing any memory I put into it.
Unfortunately it was the only way I was able to figure out why the pc wasnt posting. It was just power cycling over and over.

Other Thoughts: Replacement motherboard is on the way. NewEgg is pretty good about replacement units and fairly quick at getting it out to me. Local distribution point is in Edison, NJ and Im in NYC.
if I have another bad motherboard, I'll have to look for another one that has these great features and performance.

4 out of 5 eggsBe sure of what you're ordering

Pros: Good layout. Good Price. Only had it installed for 4 hours so cannot speak to reliability but features seem nice and BIOS was easy to work in.

Cons: If you're using a Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer (120mm version) be sure your case is designed to exhaust air blowing from the PCI slots towards the CPU socket because you cannot mount the CPU cooler oriented to blow air out the back (from RAM slots towards CPU) of the case. The Chipset heatsink interferes with the bracket for mounting the CPU Heatsink so you must install it blowing air from left to right or right to left instead of front to back

Other Thoughts: Yeah I docked it an egg. Just so you know, this board does NOT have the ICH10R chipset that supports Matrix RAID, or any RAID for that matter.

4 out of 5 eggsOne DOA - Replacement OK

Pros: Replacement MoBo very stable with parts specified on manufacturer's website. Nice set of I/O options and it arrived with the latest BIOS and driver set. No problem with NewEgg RMA on defective mobo.

Cons: First unit would only complete a partial post before the system power cycled on its own - PSU shut down after 15 seconds of running, paused 5 seconds then started up again - over and over. Apparently the first mobo had a problem with a "system functional" signal that is needed by the PSU. Took a lot of time to isolate / identify the problem as being caused by a brand new mobo.

Printed manual is a little sparse. The downloadable version from the manufacturer's website is a little more informative.

Other Thoughts: Seems like a good value. Have had other ASRock mobos with no problems. Perhaps the defective new one is an isolated problem. NewEgg's return / RMA process is pretty good - no hassles - just a little time consuming.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: looks great works great.. good overclocking capabilities.
over all the mobo was ez to work with and seemed to have a good layout..

Cons: its 3/4 short of a full atx mobo why.. just makes it a pain when installing ram and pluggin in an ide cable other than that its fine.. i installed ram outside the box like others had suggested

Other Thoughts: install the power supply first and then mobo.. because i had a zalman cpu cooler i coulnt get the psu in , so i had to tak the mobo out and reinstall. .. also make sure ur ports in the back line up correctly in ur case before u screw down the mobo. i had to take mine out and raise the pins or post so that teh ports can line up correctly..

3 out of 5 eggsLike a rock

Pros: Functionality. price. dependable
Overclocking is simple and forgiving. I got mine for $85.

Cons: SATA vs. Ext.SATA, Motherboard documentation. The board has 6 SATA connections, Thats all you get. If you want to use the 2 Ext. SATA ports advertised... give up 2 internal SATA connector slots.
The motherboard supports 8GB RAM but no BIOS documentation on what configuration are where and what are you options. If you don't know the "Enable Remapping" and where to go in what menu selection to do, then you will not be able to access the full 8 GB.

Other Thoughts: I built a new Frank machine about 3 months ago around this motherboard. I first I installed Xen to try it out, no glitches. Then I configured the system in multi-boots with XP, Win7 32bit & 64 Bit, and Ubuntu 9.04.

4 out of 5 eggsShort, But Solid

Pros: Used this for my first build this week. Holds everything well, lots of room for expansion, came with everything I needed.

Cons: As previously mentioned, the board is actually too short for ATX cases. Left side lines up properly with case/screw holes... right side is a whopping 3/4" away... it's not a huge deal, because I installed RAM outside and the MB is still well in place... but how they can just magically make this 3/4" short? No clue.

Other Thoughts: BIOS works fine for my basic needs... already getting a beep code related to memory... will update as necessary. Definitely worth the money though... no issue install. :)

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It works so far, the temps seem fairly cool, recognized processor (e7200) and memory (g.skill ddr2 800 dual channel) and all that just fine, has an ok overclocking utility to use in windows (although not the greatest), supports crossfire...it just works.

Cons: not sure this is a con but the bios it came with was a littly flaky. The fsb was all over the charts so my core speed was also all over the charts. but a quick and easy bios update fixed that. one thing to watch out for is installing the ide cable after the board is mounted. i'm pretty sure motherboards arent meant to flex like that, but it did, and my board works fine. u should prolly install all cables and memory before installing the board.

Other Thoughts: Everything is working fine right now. I've had it boot into windows xp, windows vista, windows 7...all without errors, and i've also booted into ubuntu and everything worked fine there as well. i havent tested the overclocking ability of this board because i'm waiting to get a better cooler for my cpu.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value

Pros: Detailed and robust BIOS, nice feature set, attractive looking board. Seems sturdy enough. Connectors are all in logical positions. Just enough room for my large Sunbeam heatsink.

Running a Q6600 @ 3.2, 4G ddr2 800, 8800GT 512.

Overclocking in the BIOS was a cinch, the included software OC utility works acceptably but the GUI looks stupid.

Cons: Board is slightly undersized and the far right side screw holes will not line up in a standard ATX case. Installing memory or plugging in the main power will cause the board to flex if you don't brace it with your fingers.

ESATA ports are a nice high end feature but wiring them requires you to run sata cables across the full diagonal length of the board. This is a pain and looks ugly if you have a large video card, or multiple add in cards.

It doesn't seem to automatically choose the correct timings for my ram even though the chips I got are on the QVL. Updating the BIOS did not fix this issue.

Other Thoughts: On first boot it clocked my q6600 incorrectly at 2133mhz, BIOS update fixed the issue.
