Excellent Board
- Pros: All the featutures required by a modern PC as of 10/10/2009. Im currently using a Pentium 4 HT, will soon upgrade to Quad Core Q9650.
- Cons: System hangs up as I try heavier applications like Prototype (PC Game), Crysis runs ok.
Maybe the processor needs upgrade soon.
It's worth it
- Pros: Has SLI AND Crossfire support (rare for both pm pmce board)
Has sufficent USB, SATA, and various ports 2 PCI Express slots Simple, easy to setup
- Cons: DO NOT OVERCLOCK AT ALL! This board will crash out with any type of overclocking at all. I don't generally overclock much w/ my Quad Core Q9650 so it's not worth to dock an egg. But, I've had blue screen problems under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit with this board, when transferring files to a USB drive, it hangs then blue screens. Also, boot is really slow compared to most boards.
- Other Thoughts: DO NOT USE THE INSTANT BOOT!! It's nothing more than Hibernation option, just covered up as something else. If you want that, just enable hibernation. Overall, I'm SLI-ing 2 GTX 260's w/ 8GB RAM and a Q9650 and it runs fairly well. I never tried an ASRock product before but I am satisfied. It's worth $100, but not too much more. If you want SLI/Crossfire, but want to keep the price low and old DDR2 technology, this is a board to get. Recommended!
Nice
- Pros: Nice board works great.
- Cons: The ide slot is at far end of board and makes connecting disk drives a pain.
