5 out of 5 eggsSweet Spot of Micro ATX

Pros: Instant Boot, EZOverclock: I took a 2.3Ghz AMD 4400+ too a 2.99Ghz using the EZOverclock feature. All you have to do is step up your overclock in 5% intervals. I made it to 30% and counted my blessings on a stock cooler. You can still overclock manually... Also features "untied overclocking" which means: "during overclocking, FSB enjoys better margin due to fixed PCI(E) bus.

PCIE 1x is above the PCIE 2.0 slot; this is only a plus because I have a Thermalright HR-03 (passive sink w/pipelines that wrap around to the top of the card where the "core" is located). Keeps my 9800GT < 46C under full load w/full overclock.

Cons: Chassis fan is not controllable (fan controllers look cool anyway). CPU fan is a little difficult to control with ASRock OCTuner but it's manageable. I love this board so much I'm writing a short novel.

Other Thoughts: Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC 430W
Western Digital 160GB
AMD +4400
Asus 9800 GT (OC from 600/900 too 700/1100)

Instant boot works with both XP & Vista. I went from power off too XP in under 8 seconds. Instant Boot is MUCH more stable than hibernate/standby. You do not have to worry about loosing your system due to a corrupt hibernate/standby... None the less I keep my pc on 24/7 as heating and cooling = expansion and contraction. BTW, I've had one hard drive failure since 1998 and own 6 pc's... never turn your computer off =D.

5 out of 5 eggsQuick, cheap and good!

Pros: Yes, you can have it all. Quick, cheap and good are often mutually exclusive (you know the old saying, you can have any two), but with this board and Newegg. you get it all. I bought this to upgrade the box may Dad uses in the workshop for web surfing, general office computing, and light drafting with Qcad and Visio.

I coupled it with a Phenom X2 550 and 4GB of Gskill DDR2. Put it all in a Lancool PC-56K. The box is quite fast for general computing, even with the onboard video. It runs very cool and almost whisper quiet.

We're primarily a Linux shop, and Fedora 12 installed without a hitch, recognizing all of the hardware. The box runs Windows XP as a QEMU virtual machine with 1GB of RAM allotted, and except for the fact that it comes up in a window, you can't tell it's not native. There's no lag at all, it runs smooth as butter.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this board, and considering another to update my media center rig.

Cons: The only drawback I see is there are only two RAM slots, but then again, who needs more than 4GB of RAM for office computing? The board will accept two 4GB DIMMs, but they aren't as easy to find or inexpensive in DDR2. It will also take DDR3, but if you've got that kind of cash to throw around, step up to an Asus mobo and Phenom II Black.

Other Thoughts: It's not enough board for gamers and overclockers, but hard to beat for office computing.

5 out of 5 eggsFor the price, this board out-performs any competitor VERY HAPPY!!!

Pros: Latest AM3 support and AM2/AM2+ as well. PCI Express 2.0, good onboard graphcis+audio, comes with a well written manual/booklet. Easy to install, booted up first try.

Cons: Not really a con but I noticed the PCI Express x1 slot is above the PCI-E 2.0 16x slot, usually they put this below it so if you have a graphics card with a bigger fan it won't interfere with your regular PCI slots. Luckily my 8600gt has a slimmer fan, otherwise you could only use 1 of the PCI slots.

Other Thoughts: I checked and compared motherboard specs and prices before i purchased from ASRock. I will admit I was skeptical not buying a name-brand like Asus or MSI/Gigabyte, but this board has all the latest features at the price of an older generation Asus board with PCI-E 1.1 and no AM3 support. So don't be affraid to buy something else, I am very satisfied with this board and will purchase from ASRock again.

5 out of 5 eggsMy Ultra-Small, Custom Gaming Rig lives on...

Pros: FlexATX goodness, nVidia chipset with HT 3.0, decent layout with good SATA port placement

Cons: PWM features in BIOS are a bit cryptic and the OC Tuner app isn't much better

Other Thoughts: The rig mentioned in the title needs a FlexATX motherboard that is no deeper than 7.8" and this one is 7.5" deep! Yet they got all the goodness on it I was looking for: nVidia nForce chipset, Realtek HD Audio, an AM2+/AM3 slot & DDR2 1066. Most of the nForce boards for sale right now still have 61xx chipset & the limitation of the HyperTransport speed on those is 1GHz, whereas I get over 2.0GHz with this one. I'm new to ASRock & I have been happy so far. I matched up this board with an AM3 Athlon II 3.0GHz (250 Regor Core) & 4 GB of G.Skill DDR2 1066 (F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK) & it has been running nicely. Because the case is so small & there are so many fans, the functionality of the PWM is key to my sanity. Changing the BIOS PWM settings don't seem to make much difference. The ASRock OC Tuner application does give me some control over the fan speeds, but it has to be running. I do wish the BIOS PWM did a better job, but perhaps a future BIOS update will fix it. Here's to hoping..

1 out of 5 eggsProblems, problems, problems

Pros: Cheap?

Cons: First board I got was DOA. Sent back to Newegg for a replacement and got the new one. Used that new one for 3 DAYS before it died and wouldn't turn on again. RMA process from ASRock wasn't the best, took them over 2 weeks to get back to my email for an RMA number, sent it off and USPS managed to lose the package, thankfully I had insurance on it and I got the money for it... and I WON'T be buying this brand again just because of the amount of problems I've had out of this board.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking good

Pros: Plenty for what my parents need it for.

Cons: None for now.

Other Thoughts: The first board I ordered was DOA. I RMA'd that one by following the steps newegg gave me, which was easy. I got a new one back from them and it started right up. Everything was easy to set up. My parents now have a fine machine for their needs. Thanks newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: The motherboard seems to be solidly built, not flimsy or cheap like some boards. This was important in the build I did because I used a heavy duty after market processor fan and heat sink. The documentation that was included with the mother board was very detailed and easy to understand. Also, the manufacturers website had a generous amount of information about the product as well. Even a first time builder should have no problems putting a system together with this board.

Cons: Not really a con, but this board does not have the features that some some would want. The on board video does not have an hdmi out and there are only 4 sata connectors. This wasn't an issue in this build because I was using an add on video card and I was building a small form factor PC.

Other Thoughts: I have been using this board for about a month. It seems to play nicely with Windows 7 and Linux.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: This thing has good onboard graphics. Everything worked with no problems. Just dropped it in and installed Windows 7 Ultimate.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Im running this on an old 305 watt power supply, and under heavy load it gives errors. I would recommend a 400 watt or bigger power supply if your gonna play games or anything that works the system hard.
