5 out of 5 eggsASRock A790GMH/128M

Pros: Worked flawlessly with XP Pro, XP Pro-64, Vista, Vista-64, Win 7 and Win 7-64. Great Hi-Def resolution especially when using HDMI. The onboard sound is even decent.
Phenom II X6 with 6 GB mem, 250 VelociRaptor plus 2 2TB WD's.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have tried a half dozen video cards with no apparent improvement for rented DVD movies or online streaming so I removed them. Gamers may want to add a video card, I don't know because I'm not a gamer. If you like music, a sound card is beneficial.

1 out of 5 eggsvery unstable

Pros: good features

Cons: cannot get the board to remain stable in Win XP (SP3) after extensive troubleshooting and swapping hardware in and out. It runs in linux, but in Windows it is practically useless.I have installed 6-7 boards over 10 years, and this is the most unstable board I have used.

Other Thoughts: tech support is not terribly helpful

1 out of 5 eggsMost unstable mobo I ever owned

Pros: Price is decent

Cons: After almost a year, I have yet to get this mobo to run stably. I am no newbie and have installed about 6-7 boards over ten years. Never have I had one that runs so poorly and unreliably.I've swapped in/swapped out, used two different GPUs. I can get the board to run decently under linux, but windows stability is non-existent. Tech support has also not been helpful.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to try working w tech support one more time before giving up, but i probably will not buy Asrock stuff in the future

3 out of 5 eggsDecent board, kind of flaky

Pros: Amazing board for the price and size. Does exactly what you would expect. High quality DDR2 can still provide very good performance, and this board can allow you to salvage it.

Also, you lose a single 32-bit PCI slot instead of a PCI-E slot. That's a much better trade IMO.

Cons: My board apparently had a chipset issue that caused intermittent disk controller problems. Occasionally, it wouldn't find the disk controller at power up, or after reboots. I finally had to submit an RMA with Asrock, since this started after my 30 days with Newegg.

Other Thoughts: You do have to make some compromises with these tiny boards. No SLI, and only a single 1x PCI-E. Still, if you just need a basic system with a better video card, it's not a bad choice.

4 out of 5 eggsOK

Pros: Good price point for the features. Allowed me to replace a bad motherboard from another company and still use my DDR2 memory.

Cons: Sound is flaky.

Other Thoughts: Board has been very solid since I purchased it in Sept 2010, except for the sound card, but really, how good is onboard sound?

4 out of 5 eggsGreat no problems at all

Pros: Has everything I wanted and good bang for your buck at 70 bucks. Takes AM3.

Cons: Seems a little flimsy.

Other Thoughts: Great no problems what so ever. Installed it and booted right up.

5 out of 5 eggsGood budget board

Pros: Good price, and a nice board. Nothing high end but I got it to get a HP that i traded a friend for up and running. Did the job nicely and now I have a PCIe slot and a on-board GPU to play around with Hybrid X-fire as soon as my new gpu gets here.

Cons: Supports Win7 but dose not have the drivers for video and sound on the disk it comes with. Found them in a snap on the manufacturers website though. Nothing worth marking this thing down an egg.

Other Thoughts: Been running for almost a month now almost content and not an error in site... Was wary of this board due to never dealing with ASRock before but I was pestilently surprised with this unit! Have not got a chance to play around with the OC tool or quick boot options yet.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Customer Service...! Highly recommend NEWEGG...!

Pros: It works GREAT! Boot into Windows 7 Ultimate 64 OK not really FAST! ASRock does have a feature "INSTANT BOOT", but I don't try it. Overclock CPU is simple, right in BIOS. I replace the ASUS M2A-VM motherboard with this ASRock, and very pleased with its performance.

Cons: There is only a problem with the board...! I disable sleep mode and hibernation mode in Win7 through control panel --> Power option. For some reason, the board will go to sleep by itself and when I move the mouse, the board takes up to 15 minutes to wake up. I try to search for answer from Google and newegg FAQ but no luck...

Other Thoughts: I finally contact ASRock. ASRock has a GREAT customer support !!! They answered my email and helped me. Finally Eric at ASRock asks me to return it. Honestly I don't know anything about the process of return it to ASRock, I called Newegg customer service. After explain my problem to newegg, newegg is still happily issue RMA even though my purchase passed 60 days. I did not mean to keep it passed 60 days, because I work and don't have time to follow up the problem.

All I can say is NEWEGG is great customer service!!! I will return the board for exchange or repair... I hope the next one will not have this annoying slow wake up problem...

3 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: couldnt really tell you any, never got to use it. Always got a blue screen of death because the board was defective

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I got this board from my parents as a christmas present, I opened it, installed my processor and everything else and turned it on, would not boot up. took everything back apart to see that when i took the heatsink off of the processor that the processor came out with it, even know it was latched down and locked in place. I then returned it to newegg (AWESOME SERVICE NEWEGG). I wanted a replacement, but my luck none were in stock when i returned it, so i get a refund. But thats ok, waiting for something better to roll around. Thanks newegg for all the help.
