4 out of 5 eggsSound

Pros: Lasted for 3 years before upgrading

Cons: Started having sounds issues. No sound on bootup. Restarting usually fixed it.

4 out of 5 eggsDont unlock for long unless..

Pros: Great price , though now with sata 6 out, consider your options. I've not had any issues with it short of making note NOT to unlock last core unless you are willing to take the risk.

I also purchased this because it had ESata which many now are saying is better than USB3. Check around as I did to verify if you wish.

Cons: sata 3 only, Do not UNLOCK the last core on your amd cpu ( that this MOBO allows), as doing so risks damage to your system. The directions don't tell you the 'unlocking' the last core is 'overclocking' which is subtle distinction, so beware.

2 out of 5 eggsShort lived

Pros: Great BIOS settings, came as advertised

Cons: The whole board was kinda wonky right from the start. First off my computer could never recover properly from standby. The video feed would go blank and I would have to force reset the system. And then an issue that was a little harder to explain, and these slowly became worse as time passed. Certain programs would do strange things, it's hard to put. Additionally, some windows features slowly stopped working properly. After about seven month of using it, the sound card died. That was what ended up pushing me to replace the board. Bought a nice new Asus board, and all the issues were suddenly gone.

Other Thoughts: Not going to trust ASRock after this.

3 out of 5 eggsgood while it lasted

Pros: good while it lasted, unlocked cores, 1600 ddr3 etc see cons

Cons: I've had this board for about a year and a half and overall was pleased, but now the LAN is starting to go bad, my internet has been shaky the past few days and I thought it was my cable company, but today the pc booted and wouldn't connect. after various trouble shooting I find the LAN is missing from device manager, I disabled and re-enabled the LAN in Bios to no avail, but after a bout an hour or so i booted again and it worked but is still shaky. I've owned a variety of motherboards over the years and never had this problem. I've got a board that's over 10 yrs old and it still works flawlessly. If this is the quality that Asrock makes, i can guarantee I won't be buying from them again. I thought I had found a great budget board, but if it only last 1.5 years, it's no bargain.

Other Thoughts: I was actually thinking of upgrading in about 6 months to a year, but i as getting ready to by a new 760 GT and PSU. Now I have to buy a new MB and probably CPU too,
(no sense in buying old tech) so there goes my nice video card.

4 out of 5 eggsOkay MB

Pros: -still runs 3 years+ after purchase
-room for 2 gpus/crossfire
-works fine with the Athlon II 240 I put in it, though it cannot push it very far
-140W cpu support is decent

Cons: -can't really push hardware too much with this board
-one gpu lane is x4, not that I plan to crossfire with the CPU I have though

Other Thoughts: -for the cost this mb is okay, though more sata connections, better cooling etc. would be nice.

4 out of 5 eggsFirst one was lemon, replacement working well

Pros: The first motherboard I received was blown away due to a faulty power supply that I also purchased from Newegg. I asked for a replacement, and that has been working very well so far. This was a very nice motherboard last year, a very good value for money.

Cons: Outdated now!

3 out of 5 eggsNo Good

Pros: Bios is nice, makes overclocking VERY easy.

Cons: LASTED LESS THAN A YEAR. This motherboard died on me about a week ago, just short of a year. Advertises two 16x PCIe slots, but that isn't true.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't advise that anyone buy this motherboard if you're looking for something that will last.
