5 out of 5 eggs5.4 Years of Almost Daily Use and Still Works Great

Pros: System started intermittently crashing last week. Started troubleshooting and discovered a bad power supply. Swapped the PSU out and the system is as solid as it was on day one. Today is day 1,959.

Cons: Only 4 SATA ports, but what do I expect on such an old motherboard?

Other Thoughts: At this point I am thinking of converting this system to a NAS by added a PCI SATA card.

5 out of 5 eggsStill rocking this motherboard in 2016

Pros: -DDR3 up to 1600Mhz (Still a standard in 2016)
-PCI-E 2.0
This board is old, but holds well with today's standards. The CPU is about the only thing that MIGHT hold you back.

Cons: -None

3 out of 5 eggsWorked great, for a while

Pros: While it was working it worked great

Cons: After a couple years I started having problems with the video feed. I tested my graphics card and it was not the problem.

Other Thoughts: If you work with it you can get it back in working condition, but it will still occasionally lose your HD or your graphics card.

4 out of 5 eggsDont unlock for long unless..

Pros: Great price , though now with sata 6 out, consider your options. I've not had any issues with it short of making note NOT to unlock last core unless you are willing to take the risk.

I also purchased this because it had ESata which many now are saying is better than USB3. Check around as I did to verify if you wish.

Cons: sata 3 only, Do not UNLOCK the last core on your amd cpu ( that this MOBO allows), as doing so risks damage to your system. The directions don't tell you the 'unlocking' the last core is 'overclocking' which is subtle distinction, so beware.

2 out of 5 eggsShort lived

Pros: Great BIOS settings, came as advertised

Cons: The whole board was kinda wonky right from the start. First off my computer could never recover properly from standby. The video feed would go blank and I would have to force reset the system. And then an issue that was a little harder to explain, and these slowly became worse as time passed. Certain programs would do strange things, it's hard to put. Additionally, some windows features slowly stopped working properly. After about seven month of using it, the sound card died. That was what ended up pushing me to replace the board. Bought a nice new Asus board, and all the issues were suddenly gone.

Other Thoughts: Not going to trust ASRock after this.

3 out of 5 eggsgood while it lasted

Pros: good while it lasted, unlocked cores, 1600 ddr3 etc see cons

Cons: I've had this board for about a year and a half and overall was pleased, but now the LAN is starting to go bad, my internet has been shaky the past few days and I thought it was my cable company, but today the pc booted and wouldn't connect. after various trouble shooting I find the LAN is missing from device manager, I disabled and re-enabled the LAN in Bios to no avail, but after a bout an hour or so i booted again and it worked but is still shaky. I've owned a variety of motherboards over the years and never had this problem. I've got a board that's over 10 yrs old and it still works flawlessly. If this is the quality that Asrock makes, i can guarantee I won't be buying from them again. I thought I had found a great budget board, but if it only last 1.5 years, it's no bargain.

Other Thoughts: I was actually thinking of upgrading in about 6 months to a year, but i as getting ready to by a new 760 GT and PSU. Now I have to buy a new MB and probably CPU too,
(no sense in buying old tech) so there goes my nice video card.
