4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price.

Pros: -Lasting me for 3 years so far, no problems. Running an i3 560, and a gtx 460 on it.
-

Cons: -Could never figure out how to update the BIOS, even if it was possible for this motherboard.
-Comes with a lot of useless software.
-Not a lot of customer support reguarding the BIOS update.

Other Thoughts: Seriously, I tried very hard to get the BIOS updated, searched for hours on the web, found nothing helpful.

5 out of 5 eggsPerforms well

Pros: I had this and upgraded to 1155 i5 3350 and I am impressed by how little difference I am experiencing in performance. Granted I am not using the 6gb with SSD in the new board but seeing as I am not, I could have saved 400 smackers and stayed putt.

Cons: no 6gb, but unless you're going SSD, save the money

5 out of 5 eggsserves its purpose

Pros: Great board on the cheap for a HTPC, even a light gaming rig as well.
Good onboard sound considering the price point.

simple bios with overclocking and voltage controls. Nothing extreme tweaking but all the main ones are there such as Vcore, Dram, VTT, PCH, PLL. This isn't an extreme overclocking board obviously so IMO the bios options are really good.

Cons: Really nitpicking, can't complain much for the price....but....no USB 3.0 or sata 6gb/s ports, only 4 sata ports and 2 ram slots.
Could also use some more fan headers, but atleast it has 2 (on top of the CPU fan).

Other Thoughts: You really don't need more than 2 ram slots because 8gb (2x4gb) is cheap right now and more than enough for 99% of people.
Running a G6950 at 4.2ghz 1.25v stays nice and cool with a small 92mm aftermarket cooler.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Overclocks easily and efficiently for a microatx motherboard. After changing the voltage of the CPU, I was able to overclock my intel core i5-661 from 3.33 ghz to 4.4 ghz.

Cons: Incredibly short warranty, but the extended warranty should do the trick. 2 memory slots, but it is smaller than my Intel DH55TC.

Other Thoughts: If I can find an ATX motherboard made by Asrock or ASUS, I will buy it.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent board

Pros: This board is excellent. I paired it with an i3-540 and have it overclocked to 3.677ghz and completely stable, while being undervolted. Vcore is currently at 1.15 in bios, and at load in windows is showing as 1.1! All other voltages are at their lowest possible manual settings (except DRAM which is at 1.50v, still low). Great machine for $500, it will see quite a lot of use.

CPU: i3-540 @ 3.677ghz
CPU HS: Coolermaster Hyper 212+
PSU: Corsair VX550
GFX: Gigabyte GTX 460 (GV-N460OC-1GI v3)
RAM: G. Skill 2x2gb DDR3-1800
HDD: SAMSUNG MZ-7PC064D/AM 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC SSD
Case: Antec 300
Optical: Samsung DVD/RW SATA

($four sixty) after sales codes/rebates. Not too shabby.

Cons: In this price range, I can't really complain. It is a solid board that has done everything I've asked it to for $sixty five.

5 out of 5 eggseasy

Pros: Fairly easy install. everything fit the first time, and booted up right away.

Cons: a little worried that the pressure needed to fasten the tension bar was too much, kinda scared me. other than than nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsamazing value

Pros: everything needed for a nice, solid little home system. Paired with the i540 and some corsair CL8 1600, went together fast and furious. Overclocked to 3360 w. o. boosting any voltage save the dram setting (super easy), . Idling/browsing at 33*C, SpeedStep off(couldn't get XP to do it-prob. my bad), stock cooler. Onboard graphics stellar-3DMark 05 opening scene could hit 20-22 fps. Installed a very cheap bargain basement GT430... Same opening scene went to nearly 60 fps.

Cons: DPC latency checker does show a bit of rocky latency, even with QPI running 3100-ish. But, heck, feels way snappy and solid, and that's not really the motherboard's fault. Drawback of the Clarkdales? but it may be my ram. Running 8 8 8 24 88. Tried to move the 88 setting down...wouldn't boot. However, the overclocking recovery feature did bring me back without a cmos reset. More fooling with it will probably smooth it out some.

Other Thoughts: A great, simple bios, and very functional software utilities. Easily the best $65 motherboard I've ever purchased.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Bang for Buck

Pros: I don't know where some of these negative reviews are coming from? Maybe people with small pockets and little knowledge of computer building...

I have this board in my budget work computer with an i3 540 @ 4.2Ghz 24hr Prime/Furmark stable (that says a lot)
Vcore reads 1.28 at idle. 1.232 at full load.
Bclk=200
Ratio=21
Dram=1.5
PCH=1.05
VTT=1.23
1.8V PLL=1.81

CPU Idles at 25c on a cold day, 35c when heater is on. Max Load will see no more than 62-67c on full load with furmark running simultaneously with prime95.

Video Card: HIS 6770 (modded to blow all air out the rear of the case)

Case: Rosewill R519-BK (I'm also using the 500w PSU that comes with this)

HDD: Patriot TorqX 2 64gb SATAII SSD

RAM: G Skill RipJaws X Series DDR3 1600 2x4gb=8GB

CD/DVD: Samsung 22X DVD / Lightscribe (SH-222AL/BSBE)

I am running 3 21" 1600x1200 LCD's on this, using the
Encore ENCA-DV DisplayPort to VGA Adapter
(Not happy with the quality of the adapter, the monitor shows sligh

Cons: Pros continued:

Running Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

This thing flies. Instant launches, multitasking. Ridiculously cheap $500 budget build. (I could have easily not bought the video card and used it as it was to reduce price by another 100-120... ridiculous!!!)

The case/psu combo saved a lot, and the voltage on the PSU is fine. Barely fluctuates. Case has nice simple features.

I forgot to mention I have a Zalman CNPS9900ALED on the CPU
(had one sitting around from my home i7 build that I didnt use because I put a Noctua DH14 on it, and the offers I was getting on rapebay for the Zalman made me puke... figured I use it on my work computer... Glad I did!)

The Purple PS2 port can be used for Mouse OR Keyboard (not sure if that's helpful to anyone)

The OC Tuner software is pretty helpful... saved a LOT of time to find optimal settings to then go to BIOS to change.

Other Thoughts: For the price, and after what I mentioned above... this is THE motherboard to get if you are an IT guy and are building multiple computers for a company... It was an absolute pleasure to build this machine with the parts above that I mentioned (of course you can replace the SSD with a conventional HD to have more space in exchange for less performance, but we have network drives here that are terabytes huge... I just needed 64 gigs to load up OS, Office, Adobe CS5... etc.... I have 25gb free.

I know what people are saying about the audio header being too close to the video card socket... oh well. Plug it in first.

The XFast USB thing is alright... doesn't boost USB speeds much more than 2-5MB a second. I guess anything helps right? Seems it has some sort of built in cache for it (Kind of like old-school smartdrv.exe from back in the dos days... yeah, I'm a geek)

Don't hesitate to buy this people...

2 out of 5 eggsDoes not perform as well as expected

Pros: 1. Cheap
2. Easy to install
3. Smells awesome.

Cons: 1. Stopped reading all ipods, ipads, iphones. Like what? i put in another motherboard with the same parts, and the usb ports worked just fine. Tested both the back and the front to ensure it wasnt just the front case ports.

2. when i use this motherboard, computer locks up for no reason. This is a simple computer with no gfx card, 4 gbs of cheap corsair memory, and a new 500gb seagate hd. core i3-540 build. There is no reason for a new computer to freeze or lag during opening browsers or checking email.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend shelling out the extra money for a better mATX board. This board is definitely not worth the trouble if it cant handle stock settings for a 10 year old kid.

ASRock does make great stuff, this may have been a bad experience for me.

3 out of 5 eggsI spoke too soon

Pros: Works fairly well in most regards.

Cons: Try finding a compatible dual-channel kit that's still being made. They haven't updated their compatability list in months and, despite the specifications on their website, it simply won't work in dual-channel mode with Patriot's 1333 Dual Channel G2 Series.

Other Thoughts: Had I realized how hard it would be to find memory that would work with this finicky implementation of the H55, I'd have grabbed a 4GB kingston stick and given up. Instead, I played slot-juggling, CMOS-clearing troubleshooter for about three hours only to discover that either stick works fine in either slot. Only in Dual-Channel mode does this fall on it's face.
