5 out of 5 eggsAM3+ FX-6300 Works

Pros: I have owned this motherboard for almost 2 years now, and have a couple of different CPU's installed over that time period. I read that an AMD FX-6300 (AM3+ CPU)would work, even though it's not shown on ASRock's cpu support list. Works perfectly fine for me without any operating issues.

Cons: No Cons

Other Thoughts: I flashed my BIOS to version "L1.91" from the "Beta Zone" on ASRock website for the ASRock770 Extreme 3.

The only thing I noticed is it takes a bit longer to boot up vs. using a Phenom II. I suppose it is because the motherboard is attempting to recognize the FX-6300

5 out of 5 eggsboard of win

Pros: I can't say it better than the specs, a pile of features for a cheep board.

Cons: It's a good looking board and I cant see much of it, when every thing is in the case.

Other Thoughts: Wish it had more usb 3.0, or at least headers for 3.0.
Its nice to have a BIOS that has more than one function.

5 out of 5 eggsPrice to performance ratio

Pros: Great board, especially for the price.
USB 3
SATA 3
6 Core support
Good BIOS

Cons: None that I wasn't already aware of when I bought the board. (No crossfire, but that was overkill for what I needed anyway)

Other Thoughts: I use this for my office workstation where I don't need anything fancy. I couldn't be happier with my decision. So far it's holding up much better than my expensive MSI board.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board --

Pros: Best replacement found for an aged system with 2 IDE HDs and a legacy floppy.

Snappy performance; good quality.

Cons: Geometry on the rear faceplate seems a bit off. Check your installation (after screwing the board down) before hooking everything up to be sure...

Other Thoughts: Driver disk is a pain: Installation is best done manually.

On a fresh install of XP Pro (YMMV):

FIRST: "Uninstall" all drivers marked with a "?" via the device manager.

1. Select "AMD All in 1 Driver"
* Remove the driver CD prior to reboot
* Wizard install "ATI SMBus" from \Drivers\ALL in 1\AMD\XP64_XP(8.512-25)\SMBUS on the CD
* Cancel all other wizards at this point
2. Select "AMD CPU Driver"
* Remove the driver CD prior to reboot
* Cancel all wizards at reboot
3. Select "HD Audio Driver and Application"
* Ignore all wizards during installation process
* Remove the driver CD prior to reboot
* Cancel all wizards at reboot
4. Select "LAN Driver"
* Installation does not invoke a reboot
5. Marvell SATA3 Driver
* Select "full" installation
* Installation does not invoke a reboot
6. Fresco Logic USB3.0 Driver
* Installation does not invoke a reboot
* Remove the driver CD

Then simply do everything else ;o)

5 out of 5 eggs11 mos. and zero complaints

Pros: Has every level/type/tech. of internal and ext. connector you could want for under $80 price point.
Has run flawlessly for me for 11-months of high use without a hitch.
Runs my Phenom II 965 overclocked @3.6ghz from the bios.

Cons: None. Meets all my needs and no problems.

Other Thoughts: I have, like most here probably, a lot of drives, cards and what not in addition to overclocked CPU + GTX graphics card.
Still, with nothing exotic cooling things I never had a heat issue. This tells me the board at least manages to keep its cool (literally) unlike other cheaper boards I have experienced.

Now with 11-months of hard use I can say I recommend this board for its price range anyway.

2 out of 5 eggsGrrr

Pros: DDR3, Six-Core support, and lots of options.

Cons: Wouldn't POST at all. No response once powered on, double-checked installation of everything, re-seated processor (Phenom II X4 955 Black) but nothing worked, everything powered up but no POST.

Other Thoughts: Not sure how good this product is because I never got to actually use it. RMA'd for refund and will go with another brand. I've used ASROCK before and it was a great motherboard for my old P4. Must've got a bad one, either that or I got a bad CPU, not sure as I have no way to test the CPU on another board. For now, I will assume the motherboard is faulty and will try another.
