5 out of 5 eggsNo problems with Windows 8

Pros: I have had this card for almost one year and it is great. No problems at all with Windows 8. Very reliable.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Pair it with a AMD Regor CPU to act as a HTPC. It connects without problems to my TV via VGA. The integrated graphics card can smoothly play a DVD and HULU at the same time.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: none

Cons: DOA, CPU, mem, PSU and all tested fine in a similar computer.

Other Thoughts: Guess I got a bad pick of the bunch. May as well throw my bad pick in with the reviews. It will probably be an awesome little linux server when I find one that works...

Manufacturer Response:

Dear AsRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. AsRock mainboards are fully tested to assure that they're working before shipped. Unfortunately, due to nature of electronic product, it can happen. Please trouble shooting the mainboard for below steps with known good components; remove the mainboard from inside computer to outside. You can place the mainboard on empty mainboard box, reseat the processor to the CPU socket with heatsink fan as well, inserts 1 memory module only in A1 slot, Onboard Video, clear CMOS, load BIOS default, power supply with connecting 24 pins + 8 pins to the mainboard, and try again. If still having same issues please contact our Tech Support at 909-590-8308. We can assist you shortly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGood motherboard for such a low price

Pros: Does the job......nice to have 6 SATA ports and a PATA port. Super to have a DVI port on the rear i/o panel. Onboard graphics is nice (Radeon HD 4250), but use a dedicated graphics card for best.

Cons: Manufacturer's warranty of 1 year....they aren't the best anyway.....but OK

Other Thoughts: I installed the cpu and everything went cool....installed the os and everything was recognized.....overall a good little mainboard.

3 out of 5 eggsIt been giving me problems lately

Pros: - Good performance for the price.
- Core unlock (got my 960T to hex core)

Cons: - I'm getting BSOD when I enable integrated graphic.
- Occasional freeze restart when starting or during windows operation

Other Thoughts: Checked my memory with mem-test, tried removing or replacing graphics card, reinstalling different version of windows multiple times, and set my processor back to default setting(no core unlock or overclock).
None of these fixed freezing and BSOD issue. Currently contacting ASRock for help or possibly RMA procedure.
It was working fine first few months, I'm not sure if I did something to damage the board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear AsRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. BSOD usually happen to memory issues, please use 1 stick memory and switching another 1 memory if it same issue. In addition, CPU overheat can cause system to unstable or freeze. If you have any technical questions or warranty issues please contact us at user@asrockamerica.com

Thank you

4 out of 5 eggs2nd one running fine

Pros: Asrock rma was relitively painless. when after ~30 days use my 1st one failed due to over heated northbridge had to rma threw Asrock. the 1st one give me problems from start, guess it was defective. but 2nd one is running very well and started right up 1st try.

Cons: the 1st one give me problems from the start I thought it was my ram. finaly found 2 ram sticks it liked. well after a little over 30 Days use it failed in a big way. north bridge went out really overheated, took out my graphics card, monitor, and the ram. I am thinking about Using another brand of motherboards that is more reliable, even if I do have to pay 50% more to start with. Dont get me wrong I have used many Asrock boards without issue and the RMA procsses was painless for me. but this has caused my customer to question my build quality. That is why I put a well known brand board as a replacement for thier build and eat the cost myself. this is the only Motherboard failure I have had that was due to manufacture defect in 12 years. I dont count lightening strikes and PSU overvolts, the PSU overvolts were also learning experineces, never agian will I go with a budget brand PSU but this board had an Antec EA PSU and it still Checks good and works well.

Other Thoughts: I was getting BSODs and it would not display vidio so I went to check the ram and graphics card. went to swap the Graphics card and touched the northbridge and burned my finger. I knew right then what the problem was. some of the other reviews mentioned similar problems. I called Asrock took a bit to get them since the time I had to call for a while they were closed but after I got them the service rep walked me right through the RMA process and it was quite painless. Had a diffent board in 2-3 weeks. and the replacement board has not give me any problems at all so far. it is working like the 1st one should have worked. Come on Asrock get on that Quality Control. lucky for me my other parts were covered as well so I got them RMAed as well. But it did cost me ~half what I paid for the orginal board for all the RMA shipping cost, not to mention the down time, and It made me look like a fool to my customer. I replaced the Customers machine with a more reliable brand.

5 out of 5 eggs880GM-LE - small but mighty...

Pros: Great BIOS, as with most ASrock mobos.
took my 3.3Ghz X3 455 to 3.65Ghz and unlocked the 4th core with the stock cooler and it runs pretty darn good.
Pop in 8GB or GSkill 1600 & you're off'N flyin' !
The one key-stroke UCC is kind of nice if you don't want to mess with all the settings to manually O/C.
6 SATA ports plus 1 IDE for all you storage freaks!
The on-board HD4250 is nice if you don't game & want decent graphics.
I added a cheap Sapphire Radeon HD5450 for my Step-Son's new machine and he can play some older games pretty well using W7x64.

Cons: Most AMD/ATi GPUs get pretty hot without the drivers loaded, the heat sink has no fan, and if you spend much time in the BIOS the H/S gets awful hot - a bigger H/S or small fan would have been a nice touch.
3-120MM fans certainly help out there, though.
I may mount a 40MM fan to the NB on mine......... :D

Other Thoughts: Just because it's a small board, doesn't mean it can't KRUNCH some numbers!
Not a $199 board, but it kicks ASrock for the ($60-ish) money!!!!
Bought two so far and would surely buy again, in a second......

4 out of 5 eggsTroll Motherboards

Pros: -Price
-Well placed SATA ports
-Wonderful OC'ing ability

Cons: Trolled the s-word outta me when I first got it. Wouldn't POST no matter what I did, tried different RAM in different configurations, and different CPU's with a graphics card both installed and not installed. Finally as I was about to give up and RMA it; it decided to POST and after that it has been working perfectly.

Other Thoughts: It is a great motherboard but I knocked an egg off for it trolling me at the beginning there. If you want a cheap motherboard that will overclock very well GET THIS BOARD BRO.

1 out of 5 eggsAsrock Quality is BAD

Pros: Functionality-wise its a good bargain.
Very good audio latency response (I sell audio workstations)

Cons: The latest delivery will not detect memory in slot 1. This is the second failure of this board model in the past 5 weeks. Do not be surprised when these do not work when you plug them in.

Other Thoughts: I used to be a huge Asrock fan (used them in all of my computers I sell) but in the past 3 months their quality assurance has completely disappeared. I am off them for good.
