2 out of 5 eggsWas great for one year.:(

Pros: The motherboard itself was great.

Cons: none except it lasted little over a year.

Other Thoughts: I really thought i was going out on a limb buying Asrock. It ran perfect matched up with my AMD 1090t no oc, @ssd and 7950. Bought the board 9/11/11 and it blew up 3 days ago. Luckily i had a 4 year old Asus mobo that still works and can still use pc.

5 out of 5 eggsSo many features

Pros: I don't know where it start. I was nervous about getting a Asrock board since I had never heard of them before but I can now say I am a big fan. This board had the features I needed and came in at a great price point. The ease with which you can overclock and the core unlock feature is great. Also, updating the bios is super easy which has always been one of my least favorite things to do in the past.

Cons: None other than it looks like I got one of the last Newegg had so I'll have to get something else for my Wife's computer.

Other Thoughts: I made the mistake of not updating my bios right away and ran into some graphics issues. No issues since getting the latest bios. This is my fault and nothing to do with the actual board.

4 out of 5 eggsNice legacy board

Pros: *Nice layout, everything is decently spaced save for one thing (noted in Cons).
*Has PATA and FDD plugs.
*Has both keyboard and mouse PS/2 plugs.

*Very nice bundle:
**More than enough cables for a starting system, including both FDD and PATA ribbon cables.
**Two molex 4-pin -> SATA power adapters, in case you for some reason lack a modern power supply.
**A fairly solid-feeling front bay USB 3.0 plate with two plugs in it.
**A small, quiet, surprisingly powerful optional MOSFET fan.
**A neat jeweler's-size combination straight blade/phillips blade screwdriver to remove the cap on the MOSFET heatsink and install above fan if needed.

*The onboard Power/Reset buttons are awesome for lazy people who use tables rather than cases (like me).
*Dr. Debug LED gives a nice, strong indicator of what you should be looking for if the system fails to POST, and the included manual includes most of the error codes.

Cons: *BIOS voltage controls are a bit flimsy at times. The voltage you set won't always be the voltage you get (I have 1.4125 set, CPU-Z reports 1.408v).
The LLC settings aren't at all explained, setting other than Normal can be dangerous. pr0tip: setting LLC to Normal will generally get you around the voltages you set. Do NOT turn LLC off, the board will shove up to ~.05v above your setting into the CPU under load for no apparent reason!

The above loses it an egg. I'm sorry, but if I set something, I expect that setting to take effect properly, particularly when I'm overclocking and *need* the proper voltage. Perhaps a future BIOS revision will correct this behavior.

*BIOS 1.70 (and maybe 1.60) remove the option for per-core clocking. That is, you can't manually set clock multipliers for each core separately, which is a useful feature if you like to experiment as much as I do. Don't bother upgrading it unless you need to for CPU support, since the newer versions don't add anything

Other Thoughts: It's a bit pricey. It's worth the $125 if you value legacy options such as PATA and FDDs as much as I do, but if not you might be better off getting the 970-based board, as it's cheaper and performs very slightly better.

Other than that...good board with a really nice bundle.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable after 1 year

Pros: Awesome Board. No problems at all. Fast performer after all! Easy install and setup. Runs best with the Phenom they are faster than the Bulldozer CPU's. Asrock Tech support has been awesome to me and answers in the first few rings. They are very supportive in all areas.

Cons: I just wish it had more Raid options settings for the kb block size than just 64kb and 128kb. Raid-0. Other than that no cons!

Other Thoughts: For those that have short longevity of this board, meaning runs for a while then dies or does something weird, is more than likely you had miss handled it. You Need A Static Ground Device to protect it from static electricity when handling it. Even very small amounts of discharge destroys the micro chips.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear AsRock Customer

3 out of 5 eggsIt might be good.

Pros: It looks cool.

Cons: BIOS are 1.5 thus my fx 4100 CPU won't work. I can't even get video signal. I thought I'd at least get something. I called 15 PC repair shops and tried craigslist for a cheap socket am3 with no luck. All I get from the start is constant code 00 from the mobo.

I tried emailing asrock and its been two days with no answer. If you decide to mail it back it'll cost you $15 +shipping and at least two weeks to get it back.

Other Thoughts: Don't get this board unless you have another am3 socket CPU handy, its a major headache.

Cons: no cons

Other Thoughts: Ive had this board for around a year and its been rock solid.

1 out of 5 eggsA Warining about RAID with Western Digital Cavair Black HDD's

Pros: Great MoBo for gaming! i don't OC, but i know some that do and preach this board as tops!

Cons: **RAID failure/Data Loss/Drive Damage with WD Cavair Black HDD's
(See other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: At the time of purchase, WD had changed something in the Firmware that affects the way these "Desktop Edition" HDD's perform in RAID.
More specifically, they don't. I clearly stated that i needed RAID capable/stable equipment for my setup, all prior to final sale. I was assured there would be no issues, granted everything was in good working order after the build. all went as planned till i tried to enable the raid functions on the WD HDD's. For OVER A YEAR i have been plagued by Failures/data loss/"bricked" HDD's due to this info i just discovered today.
I feel no less than swindled that this info was not disclosed to me prior to sale. had this been known, i would have bought the RE HDD's (RAID Edition, Enterprise Edition $$$$). Now i may be Out a lot of $$$ as i have 4 1TB HDD's that do NOT work as intended and the intent was clearly stated pre-sale.
