2 out of 5 eggsASrock reliability?

Pros: Was a decent MB while it lasted. Good features, clean layout. Never had really any problems seating anything.

Until it died...

Cons: I built the system in August 2011 and it died in December 2013. This happened just 4 month past the warranty which is extremely frustrating.

Ran with all high end components: AX series Corsair PS on a high end surge protector both of which are still functional. This makes me think it just failed without outside influence.

Other Thoughts: ASrock offered great features for a good price, but I only consider the price/product good if the product lasts until my next build.

I typically rebuilt every 3 years sometimes 4 and my first ASrock only got me half way there.

1 out of 5 eggsDied just out of warranty

Pros: Easy to overclock (i7 2600k). Plenty of features & lots of connections on the back IO panel.

Cons: Died after 2.5 years (warranty is 2 years). Come home one day and found that I couldn't turn on the PC. I smelled something burning inside the case. I got a new PSU thinking the power supply blew, but it still wouldn't turn on. Turns out the mobo went bad... I paid $180 for this so I didn't expect it to die so soon. Now I have an expensive paper weight.

Other Thoughts: Yes Asus, I have gone through many different steps of motherboard diagnosis.
I have done the following:
Turn the power off.
Remove the mainboard from inside computer to outside, place the mainboard on top of the empty mainboard’s box
Clear the CMOS
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered), try with another known good memory if its same issue.
Reseat video card firmly and 6+6 power (if applied)
Plug the 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power to the mainboard
Plug the computer case’s power switch to mainboard's front panel power header and try again
Turn the power on (using onboard power bottom) to check if its post.

2 out of 5 eggsGood for a while

Pros: Worked great! Nice features and no complaints performance wise.

Cons: After just a couple years it simply gave out. I came home one day and tried to turn it on and got no response. I'm very disappointed that this board didn't last me.

2 out of 5 eggsWas great

Pros: Board was great. Lots of features and good specs.

Cons: Nothing worth noting.

Other Thoughts: This board died on me after just over 24 months of use. My system worked flawlessly until this board died. I am very disapointed that this happened after 25 months of use. I expect longer life from a mobo and was very impressed with Asrock until this happened.

2500k
8GB gskill
Radeon HD 6850
Samsung 830 256GB
Rosewill 1000W

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: -Great for the price.
-Built in utilities work wonders with fan and temp control; USB boost utility is also very handy.
-Extremely reliable, haven't had a single MoBo related crash since I bought it.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this MoBo for almost two years now and it has yet to let me down. It was used in my first ever PC build back in 2011 and I still couldn't be happier with it. I would highly recommend this MoBo to anyone looking to build a new PC, or to anyone looking to upgrade.

3 out of 5 eggsBIOS Upgrade Issues

Pros: Great motherboard for overclocking. Easy install. Good Price.

Cons: Warning! If you are running a Sandy Bridge CPU do not update to the 3.1 BIOS as you will not be able to overclock and some of your memory will not be recognized. This is a known issue. Don't make the mistake I did and upgrade the BIOS before reviewing the support forms. lesson learned

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: Paired this with a 2500K over a year ago, got it to 4.6GHz within the first two weeks, and it's been going strong ever since.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Even though we're way past the Sandy Bridge era, I'm writing this review to let readers know they can rely on ASRock for their motherboards. They have extremely good build quality, and their motherboards are comparable to the high end MoBos from other well-known companies such as ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat...until it died

Pros: Did its job while it was working, fast and the UEFI Bios was great

Cons: Lasted me only a little over a year and I am very disappointed. I expected more to be honest, and it seems the ASRock manufacturer RMA process is quite confusing and hard to follow.

Other Thoughts: Great motherboard when it works
Mine had a very short life
Im still not sure how I am supposed to go about getting an RMA request sent in, the process described by ASRock is very confusing and not very specific

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great features, great price. Did everything I wanted to, installed easy, and loved the clr cmos button on the back.

Cons: Board died mid operation after 5 months. Did an RMA on the board and the replacement was DOA.

Other Thoughts: Support has thus far been helpful and fast. Replacement time was a week or less and without question beyond my included explanations. If only the boards would work...
