5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: -Great for the price.
-Built in utilities work wonders with fan and temp control; USB boost utility is also very handy.
-Extremely reliable, haven't had a single MoBo related crash since I bought it.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this MoBo for almost two years now and it has yet to let me down. It was used in my first ever PC build back in 2011 and I still couldn't be happier with it. I would highly recommend this MoBo to anyone looking to build a new PC, or to anyone looking to upgrade.

3 out of 5 eggsBIOS Upgrade Issues

Pros: Great motherboard for overclocking. Easy install. Good Price.

Cons: Warning! If you are running a Sandy Bridge CPU do not update to the 3.1 BIOS as you will not be able to overclock and some of your memory will not be recognized. This is a known issue. Don't make the mistake I did and upgrade the BIOS before reviewing the support forms. lesson learned

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: Paired this with a 2500K over a year ago, got it to 4.6GHz within the first two weeks, and it's been going strong ever since.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Even though we're way past the Sandy Bridge era, I'm writing this review to let readers know they can rely on ASRock for their motherboards. They have extremely good build quality, and their motherboards are comparable to the high end MoBos from other well-known companies such as ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat...until it died

Pros: Did its job while it was working, fast and the UEFI Bios was great

Cons: Lasted me only a little over a year and I am very disappointed. I expected more to be honest, and it seems the ASRock manufacturer RMA process is quite confusing and hard to follow.

Other Thoughts: Great motherboard when it works
Mine had a very short life
Im still not sure how I am supposed to go about getting an RMA request sent in, the process described by ASRock is very confusing and not very specific

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great features, great price. Did everything I wanted to, installed easy, and loved the clr cmos button on the back.

Cons: Board died mid operation after 5 months. Did an RMA on the board and the replacement was DOA.

Other Thoughts: Support has thus far been helpful and fast. Replacement time was a week or less and without question beyond my included explanations. If only the boards would work...

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Wish I had any.

Cons: The MB worked for a day and then went boom. I received a second MB from Newegg and it was DOA. So now I have to pay for shipping on a second one. If I wanted to spend a whole bunch of money on a MB I would have ordered a more expensive one. I emailed ASRock and never heard anything back.

Other Thoughts: Newegg has been great and I blame nothing on them.

2 out of 5 eggsPain in the...

Pros: Lots of features
solid construction
sleek ascetics
I do the GUI BIOS minus the ability to do ANYTHING useful with RAID.

Cons: Cannot get RAID 0 setup using 2 SATA 3 SSD. The new BIOS interface will not allow me to configure this.

Using traditional RAID 0 windows setup is plagued with errors that are caused by settings that cannot be changed within the BIOS while using the RAID option.

Other Thoughts: I need to say starting off that I have built MANY machines with nowhere near as many issues as this thing when it comes to RAID setup. Maybe I don't fully understand the new technology that this motherboard incorporates being so used to the simplicity of motherboards past but with all these different controllers that each serve many separate functions it is over complicating what should be simple and painless.

From what the manual and tech support states, only the first 2 SATA ports can be used for RAID 0 (SATA 3 6/Gbs) and the last 4 are plain old SATA 2 ports. WELL...turns it's not possible to use the first two for RAID and I get errors installing windows due to a setting it defaults to when setting up raid in the last 4 that I cannot change on an single port basis. Maybe I'm asking too much from this thing but I'm going to be calling tech support again to see about getting this thing swapped out for something else. Not any good for my needs.
