1 out of 5 eggsASRocks-NOT!

Pros: None!

Cons: Never worked! The MB failed to post. I exchanged cpus, power sources, and memory, all to no avail. I took a working MB out of another computer and put this MB in, but it still would not post! I sent it back to Newegg, but they refused because a $3 part was missing. ASRock never sent an RMA, when I requested one.

Other Thoughts: Look at how many items get returned to Newegg! It is almost like gambling in a casino! I went back and looked to see how much I have spent at Newegg and quit looking after $10,000. Maybe you spend more and get better service, but I have just been fleeced on the ASRock Motherboard!

For online retailers to continue their success, they need to take back the bad products they sell. They need to recognize when they are selling bad products. They need to recognize manufacturers with return rates. Buyers do not get to look them in the eyes and say "so how would you feel, if you bought this?" So, Newegg should be a no questions asked return merchant.

I have not purchased anything from Newegg in months!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear AsRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. AsRock mainboards are fully tested to assure that they're working before shipped. Unfortunately, due to nature of electronic product, it can happen. If using Ivy Bridge CPU, please contact us for updating the BIOS. Please trouble shooting the mainboard for below steps with known good components if not using Ivy Bridge CPU; remove the mainboard from inside computer to outside. Place the mainboard on empty mainboard box, clear the CMOS, check the mainboard’s CPU socket pins should not be bent, reseat the processor to the CPU socket with heatsink fan as well if socket pins are normal, inserts 1 memory module only in A1 slot, video card with 6+6 power (if applied), power supply with connecting 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power to the mainboard, plug the computer case’s power switch to mainboard's front panel header and try again. If still having same issues please contact our tech support at 909-590-8308. We can assist you shortly.

Thank you

2 out of 5 eggsAS dead as a ROCK (Update)

Pros: Plenty of options.

Cons: Pci Express slots are prone to dying out.

Other Thoughts: Ran with a 2600k @ 5ghz-3.95v. GTX 460(oc), 8 gigs 1600 ram(oc)1833 for a few months. Then Pcie slot went out. Place GPU in 2nd slot. It died. I updated the bios to 2.1 the whole thing just started acting up. (That bios is for IVY Bridge CPU's only). Went back to 1.8 and had more serious bios problems and BSOD's. Called Asrock for an origina bios chip(1.5). Replaced the chip. It completely KILLED the board. Either one of the chips worked again. No beeps, no Dr. Debug lights, nothing but fans moving. BEWARE!

5 out of 5 eggsPleasantly surprised

Pros: Has just enough of everything and is a really solid board
The mouse input with the keyboard on bios screen is really handy
Debug display turned out to be very useful and clear

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Everybody tried to talk me into an Asus Sabretooth but I wanted to give this a shot and from what I can tell there really is no difference between this and a Sabretooth.

5 out of 5 eggsASRock P67 Extreme6 Solid Full Featured Board

Pros: *** 6 months later and this board is still performing admirably ***

Same architecture as the more expensive P67 Fatality Pro without the fatility pro branding or the ide and specialized mouse ports. Lots of features, lots of sata and usb ports, lots of cpu fans ports, and is a great overclocker (booted up the first time and easily overclocked my i5 to 4.8ghz first shot) Hot swapping hard drive does work in AHCI on both sata controllers! I was also able to use standard GSKILL DDR3 1600 RAM Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL that was not on the ASRock approved compatibility list without issue. Last but not least this board is HACKINTOSH compatible.

Cons: Not cons but things to take note of

1st, placement of the top pcie port being close to the heat sink. If more room is needed simply remove the top cover of the heatsink.

2nd, not all USB 3.0 ports can be used at the same time; you can have 6 USB 3.0 ports connected (4 rear/2 front) however using the 2 front USB 3.0 will disable 2 of the ports on the rear. This limitation is due to the USB controller only being able to run 4 of the USB3 ports at a time. This effect is the same when using the ESATA as it is being shared by the SATA controller it's tied to.

3rd, driver support is lacking from ASRock however updated drivers can be had directly from the chipset manufacturers (Intel, Jtron, Realtek, Marvell, Nvidia, etc)

4th, its not a PCI Express Gen3 board but not a concern as todays grahics card have yet to saturate the 2.0 spec (still a good while away before dual-triple-quad graphics setups reach that point)

*Couldnt boot with legacy VisionTek X1550 PCI video card

Other Thoughts: Based on other user reviews Quality Control looks spotty. I took the chance considering and all is working great so far and based on my personal experience, I highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing feature-laden motherboard

Pros: I had the luxury of buying this mobo when it was only $170. Now that it is $220 I still feel that it is under priced. There are more features on this board than you will ever use and it rivals some boards one tier above it.

Slots are logically placed, opting to show off PCIe connections while covering PCI. The topmost x1 slot has minuscule real estate next door to the northbridge cooler. But most motherboards dont have one that high anyway so it is acceptable. A small wireless card would be at home up there.

Cons: No serious cons, just some real estate issues.

USB 3.0 header (when connected) gets in the way of mounting a graphics card in the x4 slot. Only plan to use the header and the dedicated x4 slot simultaneously if the x4 card is generally flat and dosent have moderately tall components near the connector.

Would have like to see the 8-pin CPU power placed a little closer to the mobo power. My bottom mounted PSU had some trouble reaching it. You might want to buy a $4 extender cable.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Graphics

Pros: Plenty of SATA ports, space for 3-way SLI, and the normal pros with a motherboard.

Cons: This board continually drops my video drivers. I sent my graphics card in for RMA twice, and EVGA refuses to do it again because the problem can't possibly happen on the same model card on multiple cards. RAM and CPU diagnostics find no faults with either, respectably. Flash videos on youtube cause my graphics driver to restart, regular videos from my hard drive do the same, games are horribly artifacting and causing all kinds of light and environmental anomalies, Windows programs flash, flicker, checkerboard, lose the explorerframe and its buttons... This problem simply makes no sense, and there's nothing else that could be causing it but this motherboard. I'll be buying an ASUS or EVGA board to replace this, send this ASRock in for replacement, put some cheap parts with it, and hopefully sell it with a different system.

Other Thoughts: Intel Core-i7 2600K at 4.2GHz
Corsair H50
G.Skill 8GB DDR3 1600
OCZ Agility II
Rosewill Lightning-1000
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Board Super Price = ASRock!!!

Pros: Same architecture as the more expensive Fatality Pro without the fatility brand and specialized mouse port. Lots of features, great overclocking, lots of sata and usb ports, and cpu fans ports on ,otherboard. Hot swapping does work in AHCI on both sata controllers!

Cons: Cant think of any but only the placement of the top pcie port being close to the heat sink. If more room is needed simply remove the top cover of the heatsink. Tested a regular pci video card and couldnt get the board to boot up. However i did verify the pci ports work by testing with my x-fi pci sound card.

Other Thoughts: Board booted up the first time easily overclocked my i5 to 4.8 first shot. This board is a super value with a solid feature set at a great price! I highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 eggsNice motherboard!

Pros: USB 3.0
SATA6
32GB Max Supported RAM
Dual LAN
Easy overclocking for my 2600K
Many options in the BIOS

Everything was easy to set up. Layout is logical and comparable to other boards I've owned. Except the SATA ports (see cons).

Cons: The ONLY thing about the board that I dislike is the SATA ports being laid horizontally. Being that they face the right side, it's a bit of a pain to plug a SATA cable into them.
It's a small gripe, to be fair.

Other Thoughts: Back in March '11, I had decided to upgrade to an i7 2600K.
I was sold on this board and do not regret the decision.
No problems at all, so far. 9 months of everyday use.
