5 out of 5 eggsWorkstation motherboard

Pros: I have bought more than twenty of these now for normal workstations at my job. Love this board.

Cons: Can't really think of any.

Other Thoughts: Looking for mid-grade workstation motherboard at a good price? Buy this.

1 out of 5 eggsReply to ASRock

Pros: Price

Cons: I purchased an Asus P8B75-M LX Plus MB to replace this one that was DOA. The Asus worked perfectly, right out of the box (imagine!). I thoroughly tested all the other components, and determined the MB to be bad. The Asus worked great with all the components I had on the ASRock.

Other Thoughts: The manufacturer is quick to blame the user, or other components, for their lack of Quality Control / Assurance. What they apparently forget is that many of us Neweggers are IT professionals or Gamers, or otherwise very experienced users / techies.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA, Returning

Pros: Good price, compact

Cons: DOA, wouldn't POST

Other Thoughts: This is the 2nd consecutive DOA MB. Where is the QC on these things?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. ASRock mainboards are fully tested to assure that they're working before shipped.
Since this is second mainboard having same issue, please check other components that they are working properly as well.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard for below steps with known good components;
Turn the power off.
Remove the mainboard from inside computer to outside, place the mainboard on top of the mainboard’s box
Clear the CMOS
Check the mainboard’s CPU socket pins are normal (should not be bent)
Reseat the CPU with heatsink fan as well if socket pins are normal
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered), try with another known good memory if its same issue.
Plug monitor to onboard VGA (CPU with iGPU/APU supported or test with VGA card)
Plug the 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power
Plug the chassis power switch to mainboard's system panel power header, and try again
If you have any technical issues or warranty questions please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We can assist you shortly.

Thank you

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: arrived on time

Cons: Received board wouldn't POST. Spent the next month replacing/returning various parts with no luck. The replacement board was also dead. Finally returned for a refund, and am buying an Intel board. Newegg customer service was great about the return, despite it being beyond the 30 day window.

Other Thoughts: Customers shouldn't be acting as ASRock quality testing team. 2 dead boards to the same customer?

ASRock tech support was responsive, and offered to replace the board via RMA. I just can't be bothered again.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear AsRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. AsRock mainboards are fully tested to assure that they're working before shipped. Unfortunately, due to nature of electronic product, it can happen. It might be other components causing the issue since 2nd replacement mainboard having same problem (CPU, memory, power supply etc.). As always, we appreciate your purchase and constructive reviews are welcome.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsFast Board

Pros: Got this board about a year ago (from Newegg) for my home server, just recently repurposed it as my new workstation. Can't believe how fast it flies through the BIOS! With my SSD I have Windows 7 Pro (64) booting to the login prompt in about 15 seconds! It takes my Gigabyte boards that long just to clear BIOS!

Cons: No cons so far, except it only has two DIMM slots. That's typically what you get with a small board, though.

Other Thoughts: I think I'm going to start getting ASRock boards from now on.

1 out of 5 eggsbricked just after 1 year warranty expired

Pros: worked for a year

Cons: dead as a doornail, just after the 1-year warranty expired

Other Thoughts: computer suddenly crashed, wouldn't power back up, not even a pc speaker chip, only fans would spin. I didn't have another 1155 mobo to test with, so I brought it to a nearby computer store. They confirmed the motherboard is dead, are replacing it.

5 out of 5 eggsPleasently Surprised

Pros: - painless install
- nice new shiny BIOS
- rock solid stable
- loaded with features for a nice price

Cons: - coax s/pdif would have been nice

Other Thoughts: This is my second ASRock board and both are solid.

Reliable, fast & cheap... can't really complain.

Used to use ASUS because of reputation but I think they've gone down hill over the last couple of years. Lots of DOA and problems with them. These ASRock boards have been a nice replacement.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: I used memory and CPU that were on the ASRock supported list, but the motherboard never posted, it was DOA. I'm not about to give ASRock another chance after reading all the DOA reports here. I bought a Giga Z68... board which worked on the first try, with all the same parts.
