2 out of 5 eggsNo Gigabit LAN!!! NO regular PCI.

Pros: This is a nice MB without the 80s style BIOS thing... Installs without a hitch and running smooth in no time.

Cons: It is my fault for not looking good, but I figured it's 2011 and all LAN/NIC are gigabit. Guess I was wrong.
Also, I forgot to set the board to AHCI prior to installing Windows. Don't know if this is normal or this MB only, but after changing from SATA IDE to AHCI I got the blue screen of death and needed to install Windows again. When your doing 4 computers, this is not funny...
No PCI slots! PCI Express and PCI-X are too expensive, but I'm forced to buying it now.

Other Thoughts: The board not being gigabit ethernet really $%!%@ things up. I bought 4 of these and now need to buy 4 gigabit NICs, an extra $120 at $30 a piece. Should have looked better and bought the version that was $10 more... Grrrrr.
Ah, and don't forget to set the RAM/Memory timing correctly (manually to the RAM specs).

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have really like working with the ASRock boards. I've gone through quite a few in applications and they all seem to perform like champs. Good construction, friendly BIOS.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I have used a few variants of the ASRock offerings, all of them worked very well. If you happen get a DOA board (I haven't yet), just RMA it, it happens with all tech companies.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: For the short period it worked I liked it

Cons: Became defective on second day. Couldn't even install windows 7. Screen alternated between gray/pink then shut down by itself.

5 out of 5 eggsNo problem at all

Pros: - Price
- Useful bundle software and utilities
- Fits well in mATX slim case
- XFast is better than USB 3.0 imao
- Easy-to-follow manual
- Stays cool
- CMOS setup interface is well-designed
- Supports easy overcloaking for any supported CPU

Cons: - No problem at all (See below for further opinion)

Other Thoughts: I've waited for a week keeping on my new computer with this motherboard for 24 hours a day, to figure out any problem in short period. This motherboard is small, but powerful. It does not support USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0, but these technologies are unnecessary because you can't really feel the differences (read other articles about these technologies!) Also, the lack of HDMI port is not an issue. I use HDMI-DVI dual link, which unexpectedly tranfer sound signal as well!!! So, it is not a downfall. Motherboard temperature always stays below 90?F with only the original Intel CPU fan and power supply fan, which I don't think would affect much on motherboard temperature.

1 out of 5 eggsFront USB Voltage Issue :/

Pros: Inexpensive, Uefi, Decent Memory Support, Sandy Bridge

Cons: Front USB Ports only have 3.18V , Rear ports have 5.13 .. Fronts Dont work and rears do (Tested from Pins on mobo) Kinda sucks otherwise board was a champ. Did further testing and found the entire lower common 5v was at 3.18v. Something wasnt fully tested on this mobo or a bad solder joint.

Other Thoughts: Gotta get another one :/

5 out of 5 eggsKeep It Simple!

Pros: For the price, you cannot beat this this board. I purchased 3 of them a week ago and I have not had a single issue with any of them. This would also be my first experience with ASRock and - so far - I am very impressed.

What drew me to this board was that it didn't have all kinds of garbage on it that I had no desire for. I would rather have a few extra PCI-E slots that let me pick and choose what I want/need.

1 - 16x PCI-E 2.0
2 - 01x PCI-E 2.0

4 - SATA II (AHCI works!)

Cons: Integrated 10/100 NIC but it is all you need for most internet connections.

I ended up replacing it with an Intel EXPI9301CT for $28.xx and that is something I would have done anyways. I really wish that ASRock would have just omitted it all together and offered another 1x PCI-E slot with a few more dollars off the price tag.

The UEFI interface lacks a refined feel and it is a little quirky and/or sticky. It isn't a deal breaker by any means but it is noticeable. The benefits that it offers, however, far outweigh this negligible shortcoming and I am almost certain that it will be refined in future updates.

I am also used to blasting through the older text based menus on a keyboard so this may attribute to some of my frustration. For the average user and also combined with how often you need to mess with it, it is not big deal.

Other Thoughts: ASRock H61M-S $64.99
Intel Core i3-2100 $119.99
G.SKILL NS 4GB DDR3 1333 $39.99
COOLER MASTER Elite 341 $44.99
Antec EA-380D Green 380W $39.99
SAMSUNG F4 HD322GJ/U HD $42.99

$352.94! or $224.97 if you already have a case, hard drive, and a power supply.

When you combine the price of just $184.98 for the motherboard and processor with the performance it offers, there aren't too many instances where the Atom/Zacate route would be worth it.

Windows 7 Prof (32bit) Experience scores.

Processor 7.1
Memory 5.5
Graphics 5.1
Gaming Graphics 5.8
Primary Hard Disk 5.9

I also purchased an Areca ARC-1880i PCI-Express 2.0 x8 SATA / SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) Controller Card that I plan on using with one of these systems for a Linux file server. As soon as I get that up and running, I will post an update with the benchmark results.
