5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Excellent motherboard. Works well with my E8400
No problems, computer stays on 24/7 since date of purchase.

Cons: Doesn't make coffee.

Other Thoughts: If your old motherboard died, this is an excellent replacement.

2 out of 5 eggsMotherboard failed after 3 Months

Pros: The layout of the motherboard is well thought out, and everything is well accessible despite its small form factor. Furthermore, the motherboard has a very good price for the featured capabilities.

Cons: The motherboard suddenly failed after three months when I plugged in a microphone. This should not happen even with a low-budget motherboard. Support from ASRock is also very slow and unresponsive.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Sorry to hear that the mainboard has malfunctioned after 3 months which’s due to nature of electronic product, it can happen.
Please trouble shooting the mainboard for below steps with known good components;
Remove the mainboard from inside computer to outside, place the mainboard on top of the empty mainboard’s box
Clear the CMOS
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered), try with another known good memory if its same issue.
Plug monitor to onboard video output
Power supply with connecting 24 pins + 4 pins ATX power to the mainboard
Plug the computer case’s power switch to mainboard's front panel power header and try again

5 out of 5 eggsDecent board

Pros: Supports old 775 socket
Supports tons of different CPUs
Supports modern DDR3 memory
Works well

Cons: Had random freezes when first installed which have since stopped
Now discontinued

Other Thoughts: Good board for the price. Used to replace a board with a blown southbridge.

Currently using Celeron D 360 but I will be upgrading to a Core 2 Duo soon so I will see how that goes.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: The first one didn't work at all. No power. Nothing. RMA'd it back to Newegg and got the replacement a week later. This one works.

Cons: None on the replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsNice little board

Pros: Micro ATX form factor. Supports DDR3 Dual Channel memory up to 1333 MHz. The board worked right out of the box.

Cons: No negative things so far.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board to revive my Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 in a HTPC case.
I decided for this board since it had only 2 DDR3 memory slots. I didn't care for combo boards. The board is a little picky about the type of memory. I tried DDR3 1333 PC3 10600 but the board would not post and just powered on and off. I replaced the memory with DDR3 1333 PC3 10666 and it would work immediately. If you are using a dual slot discrete graphics card you will loose an additional PCI slot. I guess that's because of the size of the mATX form factor and not the fault of this particular motherboard.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Came with a wonderful design on the box and a fascinating manual.

Cons: DOA. Is there QA testing done on these boards before shipping? Seems like hit or miss with ASRock boards judging from reviews. Out $13 to resend back to newegg too.

The cut+paste replies from ASrock tech support are of no help either.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This board is the best LGA775 I've ever owned bar none. Tops even my Asus P5 board...using it with an SSD (samsung 840) a Q8200 quad Intel, and OC'd Nvidia GTX650 by EVGA. It chews up Crysis and Crysis2. It Rocks!

Cons: No AHCI support but that's not ASRock issue If no raid support then ICH7 in the G41 express chipset has no native support for it. Crysis3 a bit too much for it not ASRock's issue either!

Other Thoughts: My first ASRock board and would recommend for any LGA775 build!

4 out of 5 eggsUpdated Review 2013

Pros: its cheap, and supports a whopping 105 watt intel cpu. which in my case im using a excellent Q6600.
its a micro atx, has lan and all the basics of a motherboard. biggest PRO is the support of up to 8 gigs of DDR3!

Cons: as a long time lover of asrock, im sad to say this board has indeed given me its fair share of problems, mainly and only BSOD's when overclocking. which has been resolved by tweaking the bios clocks, volatges and other setings. im sad to say though i cant achieve a FULL 333Mhz FSB and get my Q6600 to a true 3Ghz flat. without a bsod. this really isnt a HUGE problem, as i have the FSB set to 331*9 multi and achieved a more then fully stable quite fast system at 2975Mhz read at still 3GHz im totally satasfied. able to get a near 4000 CPU mark score with those settings and cpu. which is quite impressive,as it beats my AMD Athlon II x4 640 quad core. mind you off such old tech. the single GPU slot is expected of a lower end board like this. overall 4 eggs for this cute board, would of been 5 if it was able to stay stable at 333 FSB for more then 2 hours :( so far going on 7 days STRAIGHT without a hiccup from this system. and im totally happy with it.

Other Thoughts: overall its a given must have for people running older 775 cpu's. this is more then likely the best board you can get for a 775 that does DDR3. other then the gigabyte 775 ultimate mobo which is rare beyond belief in 2013. this board will do alot just fine. dont expect to do massive OC's with the 333mhz FSB wall though! minimal oc's work just great though.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board for Money

Pros: Good board for the money. Anyone having setup problems relation to CPU or memory speed/timing could probably avoid then by chosing the load optimized default settings in the BIOS. I have found that helpful with a few CPUs. Not a good tweakers board, but well worth the price.

Cons: The lack of all solid caps would be the downside. There again, $45 might be a litlle cheap to expect 100% solid caps. But the lack of them might be a longivity issue you might need to consider.

Other Thoughts: Still a ton of 775 processors out in the world and good performers. Wish other companies would consider maintaining a small product line of reliable 775 boards. The boards are getting hard to find.
