In OC DNA, you can save your OC settings as a profile and share with your friends. Your friends then can load the OC profile to their own system to get the same OC settings. In IES (Intelligent Energy Saver), the voltage regulator can reduce the number of output phases to improve efficiency when the CPU cores are idle without sacrificing computing performance.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective Board and Poor Customer Service

Pros: Previous experience with ASRock has been great until now.

Cons: I simply removed the motherboard from its box and carefully installed it into my case. After connecting all other components, the PC failed to boot so I trouble shot by swapping out each component one at a time. This failed to solve the problem. So I took the PC to shop, it was the repair shop that pointed out a missing capacitor.

I took pictures of the motherboard, called ASRock and waited, and waited, and waited. Over a week a passed and I was finally told by the Deisy, (the person who answers the phone at ASRock) that the manager considers the board damaged and would not issue an RMA. Well of course it's damaged!

Extremely displeased with this company's willingness to take care of an unhappy customer who received a defective item.

1 out of 5 eggs2nd board was also DOA. 4-beeps at POST

Pros: none.

Cons: First board was DOA. Second board was DOA with same symptoms: 4-beep POST code. Tried bare-bones boot, even tried brand new i5 processor. No help.

I was refunded my $70, but had to pay return shipping twice on this junk.

1 out of 5 eggsWorse Board Ever!

Pros: There are currently no Pros to this board what so ever, other than it was cheap (and that goes for the quality as well).

Cons: First board didn't work after an hour of messing with all of the components (despite the fact they were all new anyways). Would power on for 2 seconds then power off, power on, then off, then would stay on after the 5th cycle and gave me no BIOS, no post, nada...

Second board (RMA for the first one), shows up today and does the same thing along with a few pins that were a little out of whack. Changed out the memory again, nothing, CPU, PSU, Vid Card, CD Drive even changed the case just in case it was offended! Nada, nada, nada.... Trust me stay away from this board, its not worth the headache or the time for an RMA.

Other Thoughts: Newegg.... I have read on multiple forums and posts about this board... if the reviews are this bad don't tarnish your record with poor quality goods like this. You can do so much better! Take this lemon off and call it claims.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please verify that mainboard BIOS version 2.xx if using CPU is Ivy Bridge (Intel 3rd generation).

3 out of 5 eggsLasted a little over 1 year

Pros: Worked for a year, very stable until.....

Cons: The rest of the store. The motherboard would not boot suddenly, no changes to the configuration just would not boot, it would spin up and then power off, and then spin up. Check the LED code (0x59) error before reboot. Looks like the Bios goes flaky after a year, beware.

Other Thoughts: Ran standard diagnostics.
1. Remove and Reseat CPU
2. Remove all ram and test with single ram in each bank and different in each bank
3. Move parts to know working pc and they function fine.
4. Remove motherboard to ground work surface to remove possibility of short in the case.
5. Swapped parts with known working parts.

Can only concluded that the BIOS went bad.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
For the issue, Please clear the CMOS.
Reconnect all components and ATX power to check if its resolved.

1 out of 5 eggsVoltage regulator exploded immediately with known-good PS; RMA almost denied

Pros: The specs looked good, but I never got to test anything because the board immediately failed.

Cons: A voltage regulator burned out immediately upon trying to turn on the motherboard. This board was replacing a similar almost-new motherboard in a working, known-good system, built from Newegg parts about one month before this board came in (the person needed more PCIe slots than the other board had). An RMA was sent off, and Newegg said it was no good because the pins in the CPU socket were bent (they weren't when we installed it or when it left our door!), but they refunded it anyway, presumably due to my five-year $10K+/year business relationship with them thus far (or because the voltage regulator very obviously was burned out and the board was bad anyway), making sure to tell me it was "an exception." Because of this, I am aggressively advocating against the purchase of Intel desktop CPUs and motherboards until they stop using the disastrously weak and defective LGA socket designs. It's not worth having a $100 motherboard RMA denied; AMD in my mind is now more than the better price-to-performance player, as they're now my insurance plan against LGA 1155/1156 fragility.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

Sorry to hear that VRM and mainbord CPU socket pins are damaged. CPU socket pins on the mainboard are fragile and need to be handling with careful to avoid physical damage and affect the warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Motherboard

Pros: I have the same motherboard in my computer and it works like a charm.

Cons: I am upset that i got a defected one. 2 ram slot burn out or didn't work. then i believe the pins on the CPU was bent which i don't believe i did it. not very good.

Other Thoughts: I feel i had bad customer service with this since it was new.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear AsRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Sorry to hear CPU socket pins was bent. The CPU socket pins on the mainboard are fragile and need to be handling with carefully. In addition, the CPU socket is covered with the protection cap to avoid damage the pins and should not be removed until installing a CPU. The memory slots malfunction related to memory, memory slot and/or memory controller from CPU is not fully contact with the mainboard’s CPU socket pins. Please contact us at 909-590-8308. We can assist you shortly.

4 out of 5 eggsLots of Features for a Low Price

Pros: I bought this board on a budget wanting to build a new rig capable of using the at the time new 2nd gen intel i core processors. Since 06/02/2011 I've been impressed overall in the performance of the board given the price.

Cons: -Audio is susceptible to electromagnetic interference (always is) possibly from the board its self (not investigated) but would explain the cons about the audio.

-BIOS is not compatible with the display of some HDTVs resulting in a bad case of freezing on post.

Other Thoughts: Overall a good board given the minor specific cons that can easily be corrected
