3 out of 5 eggsDidn't work for me

Pros: Tried the ASrock extreme 6 and was satisfy. I wanted to try this brand since ASrock proved loyalty but wasn't the same result.

Cons: Didn't boot. 20/24 pins, 4/8 pins plugged. Was never an Asrock fan until I got an Asrock extreme6. Decided to get this, but wasn't the same. Changed power supply 3 times (hx650, cx500, and 750 OcZ), processors 2 times (2600k and 3770k), graphic card 3 times (5770, 7850, and 650 ti), and rams 2 times (Corsair and Kingston). Wasn't my day.

Other Thoughts: One more thing, I tried the Asrock pro3 before this one, didn't work as well. Some reason only my Asrock extreme 6 work.

4 out of 5 eggsnice board for the money

Pros: ease of installation, well thought out layout for all components

Cons: see below

Other Thoughts: was impressed by the board from the word go, only had a few gripes with the board. would have loved a header for multi card reader. one or two more internal sata ports would have also been fine. The first 4 sata ports take some getting used to, but would have been nice if they were not at 90degrees to the board.

over all a well put together board

2 out of 5 eggsAnchor holes are not well done

Pros: Board worked fine when I initially plugged everything in.
A small aside is board is rather small and only uses 6 micro ATX footprint anchors. This leave the right side of the motherboard hanging in the air. But 6 anchors should be good right? (At the time I did not think much about this.) Board booted with CPU & RAM added.

Cons: And then I wanted to take the board out and put it into another case. I had trouble removing the power and the board flexed... and I put it into another case. And hooked everything up. Board still overhangs the standard anchor holes in the new case. Plug everything in. Won't boot. Dr Debug stops at "60". Swapped in the power supply into the case (where had beep working - going from 400W to 375W should not have made a difference. but just in case, went back to 400W. Still would not boot. Dr Debug stopping at "60" was only vaguely helpful). I ordered a different motherboard that fit in the case (that used all 9 anchors). Used same memory and CPU and that boot.

Other Thoughts: This motherboard booted fine until I started to get cables in and out of it a few times. And then it no longer booted. I partially blame myself for holding down the board will pulling the big 20 pin power cable out (my guess is I flexed the board too much and some internal layer wiring was stressed / stretched / damaged). But it would have helped had I noticed the board did not connect to the 9 standard micro ATX anchors. Just be careful if you are going to do a lot of connecting and disconnecting.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear AsRock Customer

We sincerely apologize that you having difficulty with mainboard. Code 60 usually related to CPU and memory. Please clear the CMOS, re-seat the CPU and see if it solved the issue. As you stated, the mainboard got stressed and stretched during unplug and plug the cables and/or power connector few times will causing damage the mainboard’s circuit. As always, we appreciate your purchase and constructive reviews are welcome. If you have any technical questions or warranty issues in the future please contact us at user@asrockamerica.com

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, so good

Pros: Fast, reliable, UEFI BIOS, solid build quality, 3 year warranty

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is the second ASRock A75 PRO4 FM1 board I have purchased. I used the A8-3850 and Crucial memory in both builds and they are both working great to this day. I suppose time will tell how well these boards age but, they seem to be very solid and reliable. I also like how ASRock backs the board with a 3 year warranty.

wiped and reinstalled 3 times no luck at all
was running win 7 pro 64

Other Thoughts: owned it for 2 ewwk befor sending it back

build :
2 x MEM 8G|CORSAIR CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10 R
1 x HD 320G|WD 32M SATAIII WD3200AAKX %
1 x BD BURNER LITE-ON | IHBS212-08 R
1 x CONTROLLER SCYTHE| SCKMPN-3000 R
1 x MB ASROCK|A75 PRO4 FM1 A75 R
1 x APU AMD | A8-3870K 3.0G 4M FM1 R
1 x 750W power supply

after looking through asrock's forums they did not seem to have an answer for the issue or and of the other issues that involved A8-A6

also some people stated that thay hade the same board and the a8 and hade no issues some also stated it took 3 rmas to get a working board...

Manufacturer Response:

Dear AsRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. BSOD usually happen to memory issues, please use 1 stick memory and switching another 1 memory if it same issue. In addition, CPU overheat can cause system to unstable or freeze. Please update the BIOS to latest version at http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/A75%20Pro4/?cat=Download&o=BIOS and see if its fix the issue. If you have any technical questions or warranty issues please contact us at http://www.asrock.com/support/tsd.asp. We can assist you shortly.

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy with it

Pros: I've bought 2 of these the first one I thought was dead later found out it was my processor. This is one nice mobo. It's capable of sli/crossfire and dual GPU (which I've got running). It's very feature rich. The Xfast Lan really does work. Glad I got this mobo.

Cons: None so far
