5 out of 5 eggsUpdate- RMA'd and still my Fave!!

Pros: RMA process went smoothly and quickly. About two weeks after submitting my request I was receiving replacement motherboard. Works perfectly. In the meantime, I had also purchased another refurb from e-bay. so, now I have two of these, and will never be without!!

STILL my favorite motherboard ever!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Excellent RMA process with ASRock. I'm pretty sure I got a refurb from them as well, but that's ok....if you read ahead of time you know they will sell you what they can, and it might be refurb. As far as I am concerned, a Refurb done correctly is just as good as new.

3 out of 5 eggsNo longer happy

Pros: FAvorite motherboard ever. Worked fantastic.....until this morning.

Cons: Rest of computer powers up for a second. Motherboard doesnt light up at all....no lights, no codes. Swapped out viideo card and RAM, same thing.

Other Thoughts: VERY unhappy! Now I'm going to have to RMA this thing and hope i actually get a new one that works beyond 6 months.

4 out of 5 eggsSli issue

Pros: I got this thing to use in a cutting-edge 1155 socket system and it works great, an army of usefull features and software. This board OCs AWSOMELY with a 2600k running at 5.1 with a vcore of only 1.43 and everything stays below 38 degrees with a hyper612. Dont know what people are complaining about with the memory failing or bsods but ive never had problems like that unless the ram was OCed somewhere it should never be (like past 1800).

Cons: Now my ONE and ONLY problem with is board is that it is supposed to be able to do SLI but when I tryed to add a 2nd Evga GTX680 for a bit more power in surround......THE D*** BOARD LOST IT. It set the first card for x8 like it was supposed to, and the second for x1 like it thought it was some kind of wireless card or something. This REALY hacked me off and its not helping that asrock tech support seems to be dogdeing me.

Other Thoughts: Dont get me wrong, I love this board and wouldent trade it for ANY z77 short of the maximusV. However I will be doing so and leaveing asrock for good and tell people I know to do the same if i keep being ignored by them.

1 out of 5 eggsThree Boards Later

Pros: Decent board when it works I guess.

Cons: I went through three boards before I got one that worked.

First Board Issues: Computer will turn on but will not boot. Debug code shows 10. Sometimes the computer will boot up, but will freeze when opening F-Stream Tuning. When computer boots up and I am able to go into Bios, mouse does not work, and it freezes after about 30 seconds. When this happens, it has shown codes A6, 64, and 19.

Second Board Issues: The replacement board they sent me had numerous issues. Dr. Debug showing 55 code. Only works when I removed one memory module. USB 3.0 prong bent on board. USB8_9 connector on board does not work.

Third Board: I've had it for about two months, no problems noticed yet, keeping my fingers crossed.

Other Thoughts: I know some customer service representative will say "sorry for your trouble" in response to my review and try to put their company in a good light or something. That doesn't negate the amount of time and money I spent shipping boards to get RMA'd. This is a premium product that has proven to not perform at a premium level. 66%(2 out of 3) of the boards I encountered did not function properly. When going through the RMA process they say every board gets thoroughly tested when leaving their facility, evidence does not support their statement. I origionally gave it two stars due to qulity control issues, but then I had to do a second RMA, that's why it's at one. I will not buy an Asrock product again.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear AsRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. For the RMA mainboard, we always stress test the returning mainboard to assure working fine before shipped. Code 55 related to memory, please check the mainboard's CPU socket should not be bent, test with 1 stick memory in each slot 1 at the time to eliminate the issue. As always, we appreciate your purchase and constructive reviews are welcome. If you have any technical questions or warranty issues please contact our Tech Support at 909-590-8308. We can assist you shortly.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb!!

Pros: Beaustiful red and black color scheme, Ten, (10) SATA connections (6- 6Gb/s and 4- 3GB/s)! I believe one indication of a MB quality and overclockability right off the bat is its power-phase solution. Well this board has a 12 + 6 power Phase setup. Board runs cool, is aesthetically pleasing, and due to MB temps, would have to say the heatsinks which are large, work just as well as they look! The UEFI ihas an amazing number of options...this is definately top of the line for Z68's. It overclocks like a dream! One BIOS update and I can still upgrade further down the road from an i7-2600k SB to an Ivy Bridge.

Cons: Not one....don't know how long since I've said that about a motherboard!

Other Thoughts: I hadn't used ASRock in years. It's definately not a budget brand now! I came to this board after repeatedly running accross it looking at reviews of SB motherboards. I am completely satisfied!

I'm running it with an i7-2600k in a CM Storm Sniper, Mushkin Redline DDR3-1866, and rocking 7 hard drives! This is a MUST buy before 1155 is EOL!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Board

Pros: Great mobo just about every feature you would want. This is my first ASRock board, and I can tell you it will not be my last, This board has been put together very well the layout is fantastic for me, I'm using liquid cooled through-out the case it was set up for that in mind it has been one of the easiest boards for me to do this with.

Cons: I have not found anything yet that I would knock 1-egg off for
Sure every mobo is going to have a prob or conflict here and there but like I always say there is a solution to every prob. If it cost you a lot of time or extra money because of it then there is a prob.

Other Thoughts: I loved this board so much I had bought another one for my other son 3 months after purchasing this one, And bang not a single prob everything went in without a hitch again and it was another solid build with no prob to report!! All I have to say is make sure you do your homework with this mobo make sure your ram is correct u get the right parts that u need believe me it's worth the time because you save yourself a lot of headaches down the road.

Also this goes out to Newegg Thanks for your customer service over the years it has been outstanding. I personally have never had 1 issue with any hardware that I have bought from Newegg over the Years, I have had to contact Newegg over little stuff like price drops and being sold out on items that I tried to buy and couldn't, But when I did call them it was immediately taken care of very well trained staff and very friendly people They have made a lifetime customer out of me, and I would gladly Pay a few extra dollars if I had to shop @ Newegg So they get A PERFECT 12 OUT OF 10 STARS for exceeding my expectations everytime...

5 out of 5 eggsIm in love

Pros: I got my board from the very first batch that hit U.S. shelves. I love this MB. It has worked flawless for me. It overclocks really easy. Everything works really well. The board looks like one of the best built boards iv ever seen and has Much more features than even the average gaming MB. It is a top of the line gaming board and also has legacy support. It does it all and looks good doing it.

Cons: I cant find any. This is one of the best built gaming boards out there and runs circles around other $450 gaming boards and leaves them in the dust. It has all the features you could want. I have nevr had 1 single problem with this board and it comes with extensive instructions.

Other Thoughts: I would recomend the i5 2500k cpu for this board. Get memory that is recomended by asrock on their site. I use 8 gigs. I also use SLI with two gtx 460's 1 gig. It almost doubled my frame rates on games including BF3 and has been rock solid stable for a year. Without overclocking, im getting between 80 and 120 fps in BF3 metro 64player all settings high 1080 hd 42" monitor. I would suggest you get a good PSU at a minimum of 750 watt. I use and antec 750 watt. I also play F1 2010 a lot and get 110 fps average all settings ultra and arma 2 with maxed out settings.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat full featured board

Pros: Overclocks like a dream just stay with Sandy Bridge overclocked it runs circles around Ivy Bridge.
Very stable when set up corectly with the right parts.

Cons: It is very finicky about memory especialy if you fill all 4 slots, make sure you memtest for a day to see if memory will be compatable before you waist your time corrupting the OS. New bios casued more issues then it fixed. And whats with this you flash it you cant go back stuff?

Other Thoughts: Unless you have an Ivy Bridge, I had to start from scratch after upgrading bios caused all kind of issus, but hey I wasn't having any trouble so why upgrade? My fault.
No stars off for this they didn't make me update the bios.
First ASROCK board and I like it.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Board

Pros: First asrock board and bought it because of the reviews, I wasnt dissapointed. I installed a DD waterblock used the bois OC utility hit 4.6 and never looked back, ssd w/intel speed boost (cash drive) never any issues until IB bios update.

Cons: Only con is the bios update. I replaced my 2700k with the 3770k when it came out. can only update bios with a sb installed but then mem will only run at 1333. Its not a bad bios from asrock its intels Managment Engine thats the culprit. Hope someday all issues get resoved cause this is a great board

Other Thoughts: All z68 boards are having issues. When flashing its best to disconect everything that is not bootup related, install only one stick of mem reset bios to defaults save then reboot then flash to Ivy bridge bios
