2 out of 5 eggsMeh.... should have spent a little more and got something better.

Pros: It works
Not totally useless
Seems to be pretty stable
Not to bad of a buy if your on a serious budget

Cons: Okay, this is where it gets fun.
The lack of support for this motherboard is laughable considering the fact it will accept a AM3 processor.
The CPU fan HAS to be a 4 pin or it will just go as fast as it can without being able to slow it down, therefore shortening the life of your CPU fan if it is a 3 pin.
Without a 4 pin CPU fan you will have to buy a external fan controller.
I thought I was upgrading from a very old single core Intel PC to a AMD Phenom X4 quad core, but it seems more like a step back with how much everything lags now (I moved most of my old parts from the Intel PC over to my new one because the parts are compatible).

Other Thoughts: My honest thoughts.... Its not horrible but I could have spent $10-$20 more and got something better. Seems to run nicely when I run one program at a time but with subwoofer box design requires me to run 3 at a time and gets very laggy.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for older hard ware

Pros: If you have a old AM2 or AM3 CPU and ddr2 laying around this is a good option for putting them together for a budget build.

Cons: Old on board GPU but still more than enough for the basics. I do not recommend cross firing on board with a Card. I could not even find a card that could. The main reason for this recommendation is very marginal gain compared to just getting a good budget video card.
Poor information from manufacture. On the box at the top it has the AMD Phenom II X4 badge but at bottom it says Phenom II x6. There web site is a dig site for information. Once I did mine the info it didn't tell me what bios. This was curiosity driving me because My CPU is quad core. I just expect more from ASRock

Other Thoughts: I didn't say these things to scare you away from this board. It is a great product for what it is. If you are looking at this board I don't believe you are likely looking to install a 1100t or 1090t (both are still beast CPU's today) or Playing BF4 at max settings. This is great board for web/word/bejeweled user with a small budget.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Little Mobo

Pros: Low cost, Overclocks good, availability!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Build a system from older parts I have here, I was able to get the same overclock on an AMD 940 quadcore as other higher price mobo. Thank you Asrock for making motherboard available.

5 out of 5 eggsLike a Charm

Pros: Works great for older parts

Cons: Small Issue

Other Thoughts: One issue was that after not using it for a while, the CMOS battery had to be popped in order to get it working again. Other than that, does its job well! Purchased this to use with parts from an older computer and they fit together perfectly.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Board

Pros: Fast and stable when it ran (although not burn-jn tested).

Cons: I had this model board previously. 2 months out of 1 yr. warranty it died. I purchased this board as replacement and it is faulty; I did a bench build and it ran fine until I installed it in the box and connected the front panel headers. Then it failed to POST. Detached the front panel connectors and it booted & ran perfectly. Did this several times. I reset BIOS back to default, no difference. RMA'd back to Newegg.

Other Thoughts: Too bad, Asrock seems to be lax on quality testing before shipping their boards, I am noticing a lot of complaints on their boards, Newegg and other online suppliers also.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize that you having difficulty with mainboard.
For the front panel connection issue, please plug chassis power switch only to mainboard to check if the symptom still occurs.
Test with another known good front panel connector.

5 out of 5 eggsnice upgrade

Pros: great upgrade to repair lagging box store computers from 7 years ago... great way to use all those parts sitting around collecting dust - very stable .. once up and running

Cons: 1st motherboard had issues .. finally up and running died while burning in .. With Newegg premier , saved shipping to - shipping back for rma - expedited shipped new replacement also free- now up and running .. typing this review on the computer...

so - for all the service and attention that Newegg provided .. no star removal for initial board as does happen from time to time.

Other Thoughts: System is VERY stable and idle temps hovering in the 20's using - Athlon II x4 645 3.1 gig quad, paired with 4 gig (2x2gig) G-Skill F@ 8500 CL6D-4GBNQ 1066 DDR2 @2.0 volt on windows 8.1 .. had to set timing manually but system stable at correct timing and speed - no overclocking used - set up with a business class Video card - AMD HD-8570 -also had an old averVideo tv - radio combo pcIe card installed - not for gaming with this video card - but perfect for upgraded business class with tv, hd video and radio for client - all with parts sitting on workbench (and his old emachines vista single core system) re- fanned old case with Arctic Fans (CPU, rear case and hard drive fan) working together - daisy chained thru power management @ 40% nice and quiet - would recommend to all who have those big box machines to bring back to life ...

1 out of 5 eggsASRock/A785GM-LE

Pros: Not completely obsolete.

Cons: The board is just not really worth the $60+ bucks. It only has Serial ATA II support, keep this in mind as you will not be able to use any other Hard Disk Drives with this board. Nor will you be able to use 2 different types of RAM they must both be the same or you will not be able to use the Dual Channel DDR2 feature it shows in the User's Manual.

Other Thoughts: I may have just gotten a faulty board from the box. Mine would not even post to the BIOS. All-n-All if I were you I'd just save my money and go either MSI w/DDR3 Mother board, and not waste your time with this Dinosaur. I was just trying to replace an Acer Aspire M1202's motherboard.
And do it with as little cost as possible, due to the fact it was for my daughter hence no return profit whatsoever. FYI I've been fixing/building rigs for about 15 years now. What seemed like a real bargain turned out to just be a real headache.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard to check if it resolved the POST issue.
Remove the mainboard from chassis, place it on mainboard’s box.
Clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan.
Test with single memory module.
Test with onboard VGA.
If you have any technical support inquiry, please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointment

Pros: When it worked: excellent response and speed, fair to good BIOS options, can be overclocked.

Cons: Died 3 months after the 1 year warranty expired. It actually was giving me problems for the last 6 months; random restarts, mouse and screen would freeze for 10 seconds, then it would reboot. It would do this several times, then no more problems for a few weeks, then do it again. I thought I had a driver conflict of some kind and killed myself trying to find out what it was. Then the monitor would not work on boot unless the computer sat for 10 minutes & then the desktop icons were all scattered. This went on for 2 months along with spontaneous reboots. Now it died entirely, no response, no keyboard recognition beep from the BIOS, no POST screen, no monitor display. Tested my memory, hard drives, and power supply....all tested good. I have 22 years IT experience, and am MCP certified by Microsoft Corporation. I know computers.

3 out of 5 eggsFirst time buying a ASRock Board

Pros: Just need a replacement for a HP Pavilion board.

Cons: 4 pin cpu connector? Really?

Other Thoughts: It runs fine so far. Now I need to figure out how to slow down the RPM's in a 3 pin connector or end up buying a new cpu cooler
