2 out of 5 eggsshoddy quality

Pros: It seems to work well, besides what is mentioned in the cons

Cons: I have had this board in my build for over a year now. In spring of 2013, i was going to crossfire two cards, but i couldn't because one of the pci express 2.0 ports wouldn't work. I decided one card would be enough and used the port that worked. Now I just got a new card and even though the fans spin, my computer doesn't recognize this. I tried the other port, and it obviously did nothing. I put the card in another computer and it worked fine. I tried to contact asrock about this, but that is near impossible.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line, don't expect everything to work.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard for the price.

Pros: Price, easy to install.

Cons: Wierd bios.

Other Thoughts: The bios is a little strange but is functional. Booted from Windows DVD and installed updates, runs just fine.

2 out of 5 eggsDOA on my first board.

Pros: This motherboard was pretty cheap when I bought it compared to it's size (ATX). There were a lot of expansion slots and if it worked I think it would've been an awesome board.

Cons: Well first off there was no bios in this motherboard. When I turned it on, the computer recognized the vga attached to the port but then it went blank and gave me a message that said "Signal Lost." Also I checked for other sources of error within the motherboard but the harddrive was spinning alright (250gb Hitachi) and the processor was firmly places and spinning. All that seemed to happen was that the video signal was lost probably. However there is a problem with the bios. When I turned the computer on the bios was nowhere to be found. You couldn't even access what you'd like to start up with. The computer turned on at really really random intervals and when it did, it started up with Windows XP like features. And any attempt to restart the computer would be met with failure. I'd like to think I got a dead motherboard in essance and hope you would fare better, but overall I think it would be worth it to spend a little extra to get a more mainstream and brand name motherboard in my opinion. First time to RMA for everything I guess. I got a full refund minus the restocking charge and I'll be going for a gigabyte motherboard now.

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize that you having difficulty with mainboard.
For the future reference, please trouble shoot the mainboard for below steps with known good components;
Remove the mainboard from inside computer to outside, place the mainboard on top of the empty mainboard’s box
Clear the CMOS
Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan as well
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered), try with another known good memory if its same issue.
Using onboard Video (CPU with iGPU supported or test with VGA card)
Power supply with connecting 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power to the mainboard
Plug the computer case’s power switch to mainboard's front panel power header and try again
As always, we appreciate your purchase and constructive reviews are welcome.

1 out of 5 eggspiece of junk

Pros: nice packaging, nice features but just in the box not in the motherboard.

Cons: Bought motherboard about nine months ago. I did not even open package until two days ago. I installed this new motherboard. There is not post or start at all with this motherboard. I had changed two different power supplies thata are working fine. Still motherboard does not work at all. Try to contact newegg not cooperation at all since motherboard was bought more than 30 days ago.

Other Thoughts: Try to contact AsRock a real nightmare

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Bought this for a budget gaming system for a friend and it has performed well. There is plenty of room for expansion and everything works as it should.

Cons: I would like one more PCI slot, but otherwise there is nothing wrong with this board.

2 out of 5 eggsFans Spin

Pros: its a nice board and bigger than my last motherboard

Cons: DOA. I plugged everything in, my fans spin everything works but nothing popped up on the screen. I've tried everything from taking the motherboard out of the case and pulling out my wired and reseating my cpu and heatsink fan but nothing worked... i bought this because my other motherboard broke and i get one that doesnt even work. Just my luck.

4 out of 5 eggsNasa, we have liftoff!!!

Pros: The RMA process was a complete 'NO HASSLE" event. I was IMMENSELY surprised at the ease that my issue with the first board was handled. Thanks NewEgg!!!
This board was the 2nd easiest install I've ever experienced- beaten ONLY by the "no problem" install of WIndows 7. AND, it's "crossfire compatible" (if I need/want it)

Cons: Software installation was a little difficult (all required manual installation).

Other Thoughts: This is to replace an existing Gigabyte (micro) board-----(nice board, but no expansion possible on it)
Now running this board
AMD Athlon II x4 (631)
Powercolor AMD 6790 Video card
64gb sata drive
250GD HD
using a 600w Thermaltake PS

4 out of 5 eggsDecent board for the price

Pros: I used this board in a build for a low end server solution. I've got a Lono AMD quad core installed with 16GB of ram.

The build went pretty smoothly and everything came up without issue on the first try.

Lots of SATA connections and plenty of expansion slots.

Cons: My RAID controller card is sulking with this board. It periodically won't identify one of the drives and won't boot if it recognizes both of them. This may be the fault of the card but it wasn't doing this in the last system it was installed in.

The front panel pins were awkawardly placed right above the SATA connections so every time you pull a sata cable you stand a chance of dislodging one of the front panel headers. There also seemed to be fewer connections on this board. For example the HDD LED and Power LED connectors were single pins and my case has two pins for each LED.

Final gripe is regarding UEFI bios. I had to use a the testing build of Debian to install linux on the system and I would happily live without UEFI for the rest of my days. This is a con but I fear it's going to be a con of more or less all boards going forwards.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am satasfied with the board. It is doing what it advertises and I admit that I am installing an unsupported OS.

For other potential Linux users out there, be sure you get a Linux build that supports UEFI.

2 out of 5 eggsNew MB

Pros: Looks like a MUCH better board for what's needed in a tower (replacing a Gigabyte GA-A55M-DS2 micro-board).
Board was DOA-------but WHAT a response from NewEgg-- RMA request authorized within 30 minutes of request, AND replacement board authorized AND shipped within 6 hours of receipt at NewEGG-------that's worth AT least 6 EGGS alone!!

Cons: DOA-------The squirrels squirreled, and the lights all flashed, but the hamster's went on strike immediately!! (No video, NO CD, no HD, no Boot)--but WHAT a response from NewEgg-- see above

Other Thoughts: First time I've had to request a RMA, and I am impressed!!
That's why the 2nd egg!

3 out of 5 eggsGood board if you are willing to RMA one

Pros: Good board when you get a good one. Don't be surprised if you get a bad board. Newegg has a good policy on returns through as long as you keep everything.

Cons: Good board when you get a good one. Don't be surprised if you get a bad board. Newegg has a good policy on returns through as long as you keep everything.

Other Thoughts: Not a bad board if you one that works, I had to order a second one to get a computer project done I was working on, once I got a good board the board has been solid.
