2 out of 5 eggsFailed after a year

Pros: Price was good when I bought it

Cons: After a year of light gaming use, (right after the warranty ended) this motherboard broke entirely. At first I thought it was the CPU, then the PS, in the end turns out it was this thing. Not looking forward to buying a new one.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Daniel,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved.
• Unplug the ATX power, remove all components from mainboard.
• Clear the CMOS.
• Test with single memory module, switching another memory if problem still persist.
• Reseat video card firmly and 6+6 PCIE power (if applied).
• Connect the monitor.
• Plug the 24 + 8 or 4 pins ATX power.
• Turn on the power to check if its post.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Mobo for the price.

Pros: Overall a good mobo for the price. Looks nice and is easy to install.

Cons: Does not have a native USB 3.0 header connection onboard. I had to order a add-on card to be able to hook up my cases front panel USB 3.0 ports. Also; if you are building a full tower build, you may want to go ahead and order PSU cable extensions since the 8-pin EPS connector is at the very top of the board an in my case that has a bottom mounted PSU the cable was not long enough to reach it.

Other Thoughts: For the price, you can't go wrong. Minor cons are outweighed by affordability.

2 out of 5 eggsJust Ok Entry Level Product.

Pros: Lots of fan headers.
Rear USB 3.0
Easy to install and setup.

Cons: No USB 3.0 front header witch is standard on most other brands.
Sketchy 8 core support.
Lacks bios features common to most other brands

Other Thoughts: I'll buy MSI or Asus in the future.
If you buy ASRock go for top of the line not the budget boards.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Jason,

Thank you for purchase and review.
Mainboard comes with 2 x USB 3.0 at rear I/O but not front header.

1 out of 5 eggsFreezes

Pros: its adequate when it doesn't freeze.

Cons: Every time i try to run AutoCAD, it freezes for about 2 minutes. nothing responds, not even right clicking the desktop. if i right clicked on the desktop in a bunch of places after it unfreezes all the right clicks i did appear really fast and only the last right click remains, then it runs fine until it freezes again. no matter if AutoCAD was already loaded and closed out, if i try to load it again it will freeze. it'll randomly freeze when watching a video and acts like its skipping loop.

Other Thoughts: Running the latest v1.9 firmware. I've disabled every smart cpu feature in the BIOS (UEFI), I've enabled every feature. I've used 1 memory slot only. used all slots. no matter what setup i use, it continues to freeze. It's done it ever since i bought it in 2013. hasn't gotten worse, but hasn't gotten better. the only reason that i never wrote a review is because i trashed the computer in the closet only to resurface recently. tried every version of windows from 7 to recently 10, freezes on all of them.
it says on the website that the FX-8350 is compatible since V1.50. very unpleasant experience. wish i could return this for another because it feels like a waste of money.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Josue,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please load the BIOS setting default.
Check the CPU is not overheating.
If possible, test with another VGA card and memory to check if the symptom still occurs.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent budget board

Pros: It has ran my 8350 FX Black edition for 2+ years now

Cons: Weak VRM but it's manageable. Like other reviewers have mentioned, this board isn't exactly compatible with the 8350 FX as it was initially advertised. I had to disable some settings in the BIOS, one of them being the turbo feature, to get this board to stop throttling when the temperatures became too hot. Also there aren't any USB 3.0 connections for the front of the case.

Other Thoughts: This board has handled a 8350 FX paired with Radeon 7970 and then GTX 970 quite well considering it's technically not compatible with that CPU. I've played countless games on it with hardly any problems after fixing the throttling. However if you have the money then definitely buy a better motherboard than this one to get the most out of your CPU.

1 out of 5 eggsNo longer works properly

Pros: It supports SLI at a reasonable price. Plenty on USB ports.

Cons: After using this board lightly for a year it will not longer wake up or power back on. The only solution is to flip the switch on the power supply, wait 20 minutes, flip the PSU switch back and hit the power button. I've replaced all other components and clean installed the OS. The issue persists. I cannot recommend ASRock after this. Really disappointing.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked for 9 months then died

Pros: Had LEDS on board to indicate the specific problem, a very nice feature for identifying problems

Cons: Red LED for CPU indicating no CPU readings - a very common error for this board (do internet search). Worked for 9 months then stopped. Shows red LED for CPU. Replaced CPU and still red LED. Trouble shot RAM, video card, re-set BIOs, power supply tested, looks like, for whatever reason, the CPU socket/circuit no longer functions. After search for hours on internet, there appears to be many with similar problems.
