Pros: solid motherboard that ive been using for over a year plus now. the GUI for the bios is pretty easy to follow and understand and updating the bios for it isn't to difficult either.

Cons: when installing you have to be careful on where to plug the hard drive into as it will work in any slots but some are geared for extra USB slots and it takes the system a tad longer to boot up. tho that's labeled just something to be cautious of.

Pros: Onboard fan is not just some gimmicky thing. I worried it would have a shrill noise or essentially do nothing. It's relatively quiet and keeps the chipset cooler than the mb it replaced which just had passive heatsinks. This was a mAtx build so overall cool temps were important to me in the tight space. I hate to say it, but this was the only real pro.

Cons: Very unstable. Esata doesn't work at all. The software bundled causes bsod as other reviewers have mentioned. Fails to boot after working for a week to a month like clockwork. I've tried reinstalling win7, win8. Used two different ssd's and a mechanical hard drive. I've basically swapped in and out every piece of hardware I have laying around. This motherboard is just unstable and it's a shame because it looks great and had all the features I wanted...it's just that none of them work consitantly at all.

Pros: Great features considering the lower cost of the board compared to others.

Cons: board worked fine for a week. Then one day I booted it up from sleep to find that my usb wifi adapter wasnt being recognized. i had it plugged into one of the usb 3.0 ports. I tried it in a different port and had the same issue, then I tried it in a 2.0 port and it worked again. None of the usb 3.0 ports worked.
Tried re-installing drivers to no effect. 3.0 ports are fried.

Pros: Running Linux with a e5 2665 for a year with 64GB RAM. Processing Intel Fortran routines continuously. For a year the system has been restarted 7 times. Great board. I will rewrite another detailed review.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Don't know what the other reviewers wining about! Just get the right CPU and a homogeneous set of RAM and you should be done.

Great workstation board for mathematical processing. Running Fedora 20 along Intel Fortran iFort v11, and Intel XE v13. Wonderful board. 9 STARS well deserved.

Pros: Many different ports

Cons: When first got it, the audio jacks were dead on arrival. Instead of returning it, i just used the sound from my gpu.

The usb bus sometimes took 30 seconds to a minute before the system would detect any devices.

After a year of ownership, the board died. From what i could tell, asrock has a pretty complicated rma system, so i didn't even bother returning it.

Pros: Decent motherboard, but not worth the troubles.

Cons: Original Review:

On board audio died after 14 months. Sent out for RMA, and was told that my replacement would be sent out the day after they received my defective unit. I wasn't happy about the downtime, but based on what I was told, I was expecting a prompt exchange.

Tracking shows they received on 6/3/2014. On 6/9/2014, I called due to not receiving verification or tracking number, only to be told that the replacement STILL has not been shipped out. What happened to "your replacement will be shipped the day after we receive your defective unit"?

Oh, one more thing: They make you pay for shipping (to them, including packing materials), which is a bit ridiculous, since the issue is theirs they should eat the cost.

After a canned reply on newegg from ASRock (did they actually read my issues?), and after contacting ASRock via phone multiple times, here's the long story short:

Replacement shipped 6/10/2014, but I didn't receive tracking number until 6/11/2014, after my second call/request for it.

Was told TWO times I'd have 2-day shipping, but this was a lie (tracking number shows scheduled delivery 6/16/2014).

I probably won't buy ASRock again just because of the troubles.

I DEFINITELY won't be doing business with ASRock again. I have reached out to them, and they had PLENTY of opportunity to fix their mistakes, but they have failed miserably.

I will no longer use any ASRock products for personal use.

I will no longer use any ASRock products within my company.

I will recommend against the use of ASRock to all of my clients.

Remove the mainboard from chassis, place it on mainboard’s box.
Clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan.
Test with single memory module on A1 slot (non-ECC, un-buffered).
Reseat video card firmly and 6+6 power (if applied).
Plug the 24 + 8 pins ATX power.
Turn the power on (using onboard power button) to check if its post.
