2 out of 5 eggsOnboard Video = Film Projector

Pros: Easy install. Windows 8 found all needed drivers.

Cons: The onboard video is a joke. I'm not a gamer, and I don't have unrealistic expectations. But when I can't even watch an nba.com game recap because the graphics gpu is tapped out at 99% and stuttering... well, that's just ridiculous. I allotted the maximum 512mb of memory, and it still choked and sputtered like a pageant queen asked to find the derivative of a function for the talent portion of the contest.

Further, my 1600 DDR memory could only run at 1333 or it'd immediately crash the system.

I knew I was buying cheap, but when "surfing the web" is beyond the limitations of the hardware, there's a serious problem.

5 out of 5 eggsMy Review (of the ASRock 880GM-LE FX AM3+)

Pros: + Functionality
+ Price

Cons: - Spacing of different inserts (the RAM slots sit really close to the processing housing)
- The software can be confusing (decided to install my copy of Win7 and bypassed the BIOS CD that this package offers)

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great while it works.

Cons: Bought the board 4 months ago and it failed catastrophically a couple days before xmas. Manufacturer refused to honor its factory warranty and requested $50 (the cost of a new one) to fix it. I declined the request and ordered a superior board in its place.

Other Thoughts: Fool me once...

5 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard

Pros: Easily installation. Simple Bios set up.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Would like have seen motherboard ram capacity be a bit higher than 8gb but for the price I can't complain.

4 out of 5 eggsWhat I needed, but no Sata3

Pros: I needed to replace a customer's motherboard that broke. The previous board was also an 880G, and so I was looking for the same chipset since these boards have built in video. This was the only 880G board available and the price was good so I bought it. I didn't realize that it had Sata2, so the SSD I installed can only run about half speed for large file sizes, although if the IOPS performance is about the same then almost no loss. Just disappointed because every 880G board I bought in the past had Sata3. That being said, it was less than 60$ and I didn't need to have them purchase a video card. It can get 260Mbps read/write max. It's my own fault for not noticing, but I just thought Sata3 was pretty standard.

Cons: Not Sata3

5 out of 5 eggsSolid AM3 Replacement Board!!

Pros: *Good Board Layout
*Affordable Price
*Easy to navigate UEFI Bios
*Dual Monitor Support via DVI & VGA

Cons: *Older Chipset means no native USB 3.0

Other Thoughts: Recently my uncle was unfortunate enough to have his house struck by lightning. Not only killing his 55in Samsung Smart TV, AC Unit, Refrig... but zapping his computer as well. Powersupply & motherboard were shot. I tested his CPU, an AMD Athlon II X4 640 in one of my test boards and it worked just fine. So we decided it was time for some performance upgrades as well.

We picked up an Antec Earthwatts 380w PSU, this AsRock board & decided to retire his old 320GB Samsung hard drive and swap in a Samsung 840 Evo 120GB SSD. We then relegated the Samsung drive to storage duties.

Once we put it all together and reloaded Windows he's been on cloud 9 ever since. The X4 640 can now truly shine with the SSD and he doesn't have to wait 2+ minutes for his PC to boot. More like 17 seconds! He's amazed.

So far, we've been running for a little over 1 week with no problems. Install went smoothly, the price was right and all said for 150 bucks we were able to get my uncle back in the computer race. Absolutely Recommended.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate to my last review

Pros: I am just submitting this due to my error of stating that this board does not have gigabit LAN. It does indeed have gigabit LAN. I meant to say that I don't use it and it's not a priority for my purchases.

Cons: I have to enter a con. Lack of USB 3.0 I guess would be it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value Motherboard

Pros: This motherboard for what it is has been very reliable for me. I have ran a Phenom II X4 965 BE @ 3.8Ghz on the stock amd heatsink /fan at stock voltages for well over a year. I have no lockups or crashes of any sort. Using 2x 4GB Crucial DDR3 1333 Memory. It does indeed run at PCIe x16 2.0 as verified on gpuz on my XFX Radeon HD5670 1GB. This is just speculation but my opinion is that a majority of people that are complaining about problems are running a cheapo power supply or blaming the motherboard for faulty memory. All manufactures have bad boards, Try to use at least a half decent PSU. I am using a mediocre power supply (Rosewill 630w Green) but it is more than what this system needs by far.

Cons: The onboard audio could be better as sometimes you can hear some noise in the output, but it's not that bad. Yes, it lacks gigabit net and usb 3.0 but those were not very high on my consideration chart when purchasing. Won't run newer FX CPU's reliably due to power requirements.
