5 out of 5 eggsCool across the board

Pros: PCIe 3.0 slots
Gold caps
Aesthetically pleasing
The price is right

Cons: Haven't found any.

Other Thoughts: It's a really fast board. Compared to my older board with the same processor and card the frame rates in games have increased by about 10-12%. Built-in overclocking works great. Easily overclocked i7-3770K to 4.7GHz without fiddling with voltages. Buy it!

3 out of 5 eggsGood mobo until bent pins problem

Pros: Good motherboard with lots of options. Error numbers easy to see in case you need to troubleshoot. Clear cmos/mobo reset buttons are good features.

Basically sat it and forgot for 1 1/2 years with no problems.

Cons: Died due to bent cpu pins. Multiple bent pins so not really fixable. Very odd as there were no warning signs. Only lasted from Nov '12 to April '14.

Overall spacing good but a few cramped areas like the final RAM slot and CPU/heatsink overlapping in space. Had some issues with USB 3.0 but not sure if that was mobo related or accessory related.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this board provided this issue is rare. Found multiple instances of this existing with google but unsure of the frequency. I had nothing to do with the pins being bent - as I said, I have hardly touched this build since putting together in Nov 12.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsASRock Z77 Extreme4 DOA, but once fixed, solid

Pros: Board performs as advertized. Very overclockable. Running Vengeance 1600 memory stable and producton at 2000, running i7 Ivy Bridge stable at 4.4Ghz. Could look into 4.5 and 4.6 with my water cooling, but concerned about longevity vs. minor speed tradeoffs.

Cons: Board flexes severely near furthest memory slot. Yielded DOA unit. Only deducted one egg because it's not NEWEGG's fault; and they turned around a new board within 2 days! Go NEWEGG!

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. FOr the price, top notch componentry and overclockabilty and stabilty; but buyer beware of flimsy construction...if you can carefully seat memory, set it and forget it and board should outlast warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsAdd me to the list of happy buyers, this board is great

Pros: I'm and AMD guy but I was given (yes, for free) an i5-4370 but had an old Asus A8N-SLI rig with a Athlon X2 3800+. So upon reviewing what worked with the 3470, all roads pointed to this board. After some research, it seemed ASRock had a bad rep with some other models so I was hesitant. I wanted to stick with an Asus or Gigabyte as I've known those brands for years. I actually bought this board locally in case of any issues. Happy I bought it! Setup was as simple as dropping in the CPU and board into my old case, connecting all my SATA drives and PCIe cards and it fired right up with no complaints. Windows 7 took a minute or two to rearrange itself to its new home but after hunting down newer drivers than what's on the CD, I was running and running very well. BIOS seems easy to navigate and I like the "No-K" overclock feature. Man, where was that kind of thing in the BIOS back in the day? While I realize I am a bit limited in terms of upgrade path down the road, I am not a gamer and just needed something of average cost and good quality and this board fits the bill well. It's built well, has good quality components and I can stick 32GB or RAM in it down the road. PCIe 3.0 is a nice plus even if PCIe 3.1/4.0 and other new tech are just around the corner. I am happy thus far.

Cons: Can't say I am a fan of the right-angled SATA connectors on the board but I am lucky I have room for movement and clip-lock style SATA cables so they don't come loose by accident. Took me a moment of two to figure out why I wasn't getting any sound. I have an M-Audio 2496 and the BIOS, by default, will not enable the onboard Realtek sound card if it detects another sound card installed. So, it has to be manually set to Enabled instead of Automatic. After that, things worked.

Other Thoughts: I've been a hardcore AMD guy since the 90s and was waiting, and waiting, and waiting for something newer than the 990FX. The A8N-SLI board I've had served me well but now I find out AMD has basically abandoned the desktop CPU marked and is focusing on APUs and non-performant chipsets. That and they've killed the proposed 1090FX chipset I was waiting for nearly 2+ years. So, AMD, this is where we part ways for good. Life for you was good with Jerry Sanders at the helm. Too bad a bunch of imbeciles took over after you and drove the company into the ground.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad!

Pros: Just recently bought after my MSI GD65 crapped out with a Code 55 Infinite boot loop. Fairly simple to build, nice design, Bios is easy to use especially with mouse functions. Havent tried to OC yet. Still exploring the BIOS and features

Cons: Initially has issues with USB ports on back of mb, didnt know they needed drivers, but figured that out. Not a con, but not extended mb like the msi board. Havent found a quick OC like the MSI either.

Other Thoughts: Will update later after i finish exploring all the functions, but as of right now, good board, worked right out of the box.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Happy

Pros: My second build with an ASRock board. Love these boards.
Just plug and play with confidence.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: When I first put it all together and plugged it in I got nothing, no signs of life at all. First thing I thought was a bad power supply or a bad board. After about an hour of tinkering, I found a power and reset switch on the board. I pushed the power switch and shazzam! Everything was all good. Duh on my part.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible board.

Pros: Best looking board I have ever used.
Very sturdy.
Everything worked.

Cons: I broke one of the PCI-E retainers not knowing they just slide backwards.

But that's my fault.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking Great

Pros: This MB replaced a GigaByte Z77 MB that has always been problematic. It was easy to physically install and has a nice combination of PCI/PCIe slots. Win7 Pro booted up from the previous installation. BIOS settings were flexible, and enabled me to configure some options that were unavailable with the previous MB. The documentation is excellent. I think this is the fastest I've ever replaced the case side panel after a system upgrade!

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: I now have two AsRock Z77 motherboards (Extreme 4 and Pro 4). I'm super happy with both of them.
