5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Great OC ability. Easy to use. Boots right up, no problems. Lots of case fan connectors. Could always use more though.

Cons: Heat sink on the top of the motherboard interferes with my radiator. Using a Corsair Obsidian 550D and the AIO H110. Doesn't make toast.

Other Thoughts: Good board for the money.

1 out of 5 eggsDo NOT buy

Pros: Looks good, I guess

Cons: A lot of things

Other Thoughts: So basically, I purchased this motherboard about a month ago for my computer build. The computer has been built for about 3 weeks now, all of a sudden it just stops working. I'd usually figure it is a rare manufacturing defect or something, but after reading the reviews, A LOT of people are having the EXACT issue I am. DO NOT BUY this motherboard. I am about to start the RMA process with the manufacturer, but by the looks of what people are writing in their reviews, it won't be a simple process. Looks like I'm out of a computer for at least a month...

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

Sorry to hear that the mainboard has malfunctioned which’s due to nature of electronic product, it can happen.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved.
Unplug the ATX power, remove all components from mainboard.
Clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered)
Test with onboard VGA (CPU with iGPU/APU supported or test with VGA card)
Plug the 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power
Turn the power on (using onboard power button) to check if its post

5 out of 5 eggsGood quality and intelligent documentation

Pros: I always read through the manual before installing a new motherboard. Most of the time they are poorly translated. This was not the case with ASRock, it was written clearly and I felt confident during the build. The board fits well in my case and worked perfectly.

Cons: i have been building pcs for 20 years and usually I buy Asus. I decided to try ASRock out after I felt my last board from Asus sucked. I do not regret my decision at all.

4 out of 5 eggsreview update

Pros: I will not go into why I came back to this M/B, but what I think of this one. The layout is good with enough room to plug in what you want, the bios is easy to move around in and set what ever you want to do. Overclocking is very easy to do and M/B responds well even if you mess up, it saw the memory at its rated speed. An i5 3570K is in it with 8gigs corsair and evga GTX 650 2gig video card. It has held it's own with all the benchmarking and video editing programs that i ran on it.

Cons: If you need extra internal usb 3 conectors this M/B falls short, also some box's came a speaker some did not if your case does not have one and if you are like myself if you have something go wrong those beeps are very helpful. The floppy connector use's up space that can go to better use

Other Thoughts: THIS M/B is very good, my issue is with the company I had to rma 3 boards for different issues. The staff at newegg was wonderful in helping me with these issues. THIS M/B is good but it is a hit or miss with this company

1 out of 5 eggsfrustrating...

Pros: USB 3.0, Fast LAN, Fast App charger

Cons: USB/Mouse/Keyboard freezes all together, or stutters.
Updated the BIOS and Chipset drivers. Tried Microsoft Mouse drivers. Fresh install, nothing remedies this issue. Can't play games with it. Nothing showing up in the System or hardware error logs. Think of it this way, move mouse across the screen and it will stop every other second and then start moving again. Swapped out the mouse with 3 known good, but different manufacturers. USB keyboard locks up at the same time. Use a keyboard with a plug, works fine.
Tried several USB hub drivers. Turned off all power saving settings for USB hubs, no effect. EXTREMEMLY FRUSTRATING. Bought this motherboard for gaming, and can't use it for this purpose AT ALL.

Other Thoughts: Charges my iPhone hella fast with the fast charge app.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Pete,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
For the issue, please set the UEFI BIOS default.
Check the CPU is not overheating.
Test with onboard VGA.
Test with single memory module.
If you have any technical issues please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

4 out of 5 eggsASRock Z77 Extreme6 LGA 1155 Intel Z77

Pros: Holds all my hardware. I bought an Asrock z77 extreme4 late 2012 and decided to get the Extreme6 this time around. Granted the only real difference between the two is the extra 2 USB 3.0 ports you get which you need to use a rear PCI panel. I don't have it hooked up because I have nowhere to plug it into. The only plug I could find is being used for the front USB 3.0 ports.

Cons: Having issues with the board not recognizing my 2133 16g G.Skill RAM. Only sees it at 1600 with XMP enabled. I've manually changed it a couple of times but it seems to revert back to 1600 after reboots..

2 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware - memory slot issues

Pros: If it it works, works great.

Cons: Lots of issues around memory.

Other Thoughts: My story: Bought this motherboard, used it for several months before deciding to upgrade the memory. While swapping memory, the motherboard went dead. (Understand, over my 20 years in tech, I've literally installed over 1 million dollars worth of memory. This is not a new task for me.) Called ASRock's tech support, and they sent me the form to RMA it. However, the RMA process takes weeks. I wanted my gaming machine back for gaming. So I ordered another of the same motherboard from newegg. This motherboard arrived with memory slots 3 & 4 dead -- if you put any memory in them it prevented the motherboard from seeing any memory installed. Hopefully i'll be able to RMA this 2nd board through newegg faster than the original manufacturer since it was DoA.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: N/A

Cons: Defective - wouldn't recognize the G.Skill MEM sticks I installed. These sticks worked fine on a Z77 Gigabyte and are listed as "supported" for this particular motherboard. Tried all the different configs to no avail and ASRock support is virtually non-existent. I did notice all the manufacturer responses to other reviews that have poor ratings but I never got a response from the user@ASRockamerica.com and much of their literature points back to the distributor if you have problems. Anyway I RMA'd it back and am going with ASUS.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved;
Unplug the ATX power.
Clear the CMOS.
Check the mainboard’s CPU socket contact pins are normal (should be pointing same way and pattern)
Reseat the CPU with heatsink fan as well, if socket pins are normal
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered) on each slot one by one to isolate the issue.
If you have any technical issues please contact us at 909-590-8308 or http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

Thank you

2 out of 5 eggs1 month shelf life??

Pros: Worked flawlessly until it didn't..

Cons: I bought this MOBO along with some brand new ram and a new i7-3770K. Stopped working after just over a month. Before that, not a single issue, but then it decided not to post on boot up. Did some trouble shooting with the ram, cpu, even had Intel send me a replacement cpu thinking that was the problem, only to see the exact same error on the Dr. Depug readout (4F). Cleared CMOS in an attempt to reset the BIOS with no results. Only conclusion I'm left with is faulty MOBO.

Other Thoughts: I chose this based on its reviews, and because I've heard good things about ASRock from other users. I guess I got a bad egg. Will revise rating if I can ever get a hold of ASRock over the phone for an RMA...they seem to be closed mid week when I call :/

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved;
Turn the power off.
Clear the CMOS.
Reseat the single memory module firmly on A2 slot to test.
If you have any technical questions please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

Thank you
