Pros: The install was quick and easy.

Other Thoughts: The front panel connector took a bit of thought on the order of hookup being my first system build.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdate..

Pros: See my previous post...

Cons: I've had it. I'm going to RMA this pestering annoyance.
Originally I had mentioned that I had some issues with the SATA ports dropping their connections and had a suspicion that it killed a drive of mine.
Now, not only is that still a problem, but when idling for >24hrs, the system will shut down randomly with the Event Viewer problem as a kernel power error, basically meaning that it lost power unexpectedly. Now, I realize that most may jump to the conclusion of the power supply (I would too), however, I have a 1000W EVGA 80 Plus Gold power supply on my system. This is a system that never had unexpected power shutdowns using a 600W Bronze from OCZ's subcompany. But anyway, after this most recent crash, another HDD is now dead. Recognized, but every block is bad according to OnTrack ER. Granted, this very well could be WD's fault, as it was a refurbished drive (and we all know how sketchy they are with those), but EVERY block being bad after a power outage?? ...I digress. I'm submitting an RMA.

Other Thoughts: Pay an extra hundred and get an Asus.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for the money, but...

Pros: Good price, seems stable.

Cons: Even though the screw holes matched with my chassis holes, it still didn't really fit right.
The LEDs only work sometimes, and it seems to have a weird chipset which doesn't allow Windows 7 password on wakeup, which I thought was really weird.
If you're into security, this isn't your thing.

Other Thoughts: If I knew of the problems beforehand, I would have chosen a different board. Though it still gets the job done.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
For the mounting holes, mainboard meets or exceed industry standard ATX form factor for chassis on the market.
If you have any technical issues please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Motherboard I've Owned

Pros: Fantastic BIOS and GUI that is very intuitive and easy to understand. Its simple to see what devices are in what slots, change boot order, etc. Makes overclocking a breeze. Spacing is fine - I have a large GTX 660 and the card does not block any other slots, which has happened in previous motherboards.

Cons: NONE! Have literally had 0 problems with this motherboard and I've owned for nearly a year.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Great OC ability. Easy to use. Boots right up, no problems. Lots of case fan connectors. Could always use more though.

Cons: Heat sink on the top of the motherboard interferes with my radiator. Using a Corsair Obsidian 550D and the AIO H110. Doesn't make toast.

Other Thoughts: Good board for the money.

1 out of 5 eggsDo NOT buy

Pros: Looks good, I guess

Cons: A lot of things

Other Thoughts: So basically, I purchased this motherboard about a month ago for my computer build. The computer has been built for about 3 weeks now, all of a sudden it just stops working. I'd usually figure it is a rare manufacturing defect or something, but after reading the reviews, A LOT of people are having the EXACT issue I am. DO NOT BUY this motherboard. I am about to start the RMA process with the manufacturer, but by the looks of what people are writing in their reviews, it won't be a simple process. Looks like I'm out of a computer for at least a month...

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

Sorry to hear that the mainboard has malfunctioned which’s due to nature of electronic product, it can happen.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved.
Unplug the ATX power, remove all components from mainboard.
Clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered)
Test with onboard VGA (CPU with iGPU/APU supported or test with VGA card)
Plug the 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power
Turn the power on (using onboard power button) to check if its post

5 out of 5 eggsGood quality and intelligent documentation

Pros: I always read through the manual before installing a new motherboard. Most of the time they are poorly translated. This was not the case with ASRock, it was written clearly and I felt confident during the build. The board fits well in my case and worked perfectly.

Cons: i have been building pcs for 20 years and usually I buy Asus. I decided to try ASRock out after I felt my last board from Asus sucked. I do not regret my decision at all.
