5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Works well with my Core i7-3700, GTX 770, 3 HDDs, and a WinTV-HVR-2250. I am running memory at 1866 with no issues.

Cons: None that I can find.

4 out of 5 eggsASrock z77 Pro3 Motherboard

Pros: It's cheap and does the job. It's a good motherboard for a low-mid budget computer.

Cons: It seems like the most common complaint about this motherboard is how it fails after about 1-2 years. This proved true to myself as it died about 1 and a half years into ownership. I'm going to attempt to get the warranty since it has a 3 year warranty, but expect this motherboard to go out within 2 years.

It also doesn't have a lot of port options, but I didn't mind that since it was a 89.99 motherboard.

2 out of 5 eggsUSB devices HATE this board!

Pros: Inexpensive
Mouse control in BIOS :)

Cons: USB devices only work about 20% of the time.
Organization of the board itself is weird.
Onboard LAN died after about 6 months

Other Thoughts: I've had this board for about a year, and it's been nothing but trouble. Ill start off from the beginning: about a week after installing it my keyboard would randomly stop typing, I assumed it was the keyboard so I tried another one, and then another one, and then I came to my senses, and realized that all four of my keyboards weren't broken. About six months later the Onboard LAN quit working, IDK why. I stupidly assumed again that it wasn't my motherboard, so I got a tried a different ethernet cable; didn't work. I finally got another ethernet card, which worked. I should've gotten an RMA on this board a long time ago, but I assumed it would've been a long, taxing, process, but I am fed up with this broken board. The USB problems lock up my keyboard and mouse so much that it took me nearly an hour and a half to write this review.

2 out of 5 eggsUSB is more modern than this motherboard

Pros: Once past posting, and loading the operating system the board works 80% of the time.

Cons: Standard USB devices: USB keypads, USB hubs, DELL monitors with USB hubs, USB keyboards, are all problems for this motherboard.

If any of these devices are plugged in during power on, the board may or may not post. Most USB keyboards that I own will not work with the BIOS. I have to grab a PS2 keyboard with a USB converter to enter the BIOS setup.

Since this is a motherboard for enthusiasts, it is fair to anticipate that an enthusiast would want to tweak, modify, and play with the BIOS settings. Yet, this is not possible with standard USB hardware.

Other Thoughts: After several months with ASUS' email support, there has been no resolution. It seems that the technicians responding to email have little knowledge about their products. Nor are they dedicated enough to follow up with their customers.

My complaints are similar to other reviewers, which leads to the conclusion: If you have a USB device, don't buy this board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize that you having difficulty with USB onboard.
Mainboard supports most the USB devices on the market.
Please plug the devices to USB 2.0 ports (grey).
Change setting the Legacy USB Support [Enabled], [Disabled] at UEFI, Advanced, USB Configuration.
However, USB 3.0 ports (blue) should worked under Windows with driver installed.
If you have any technical issues or warranty questions please contact our Tech Support at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We can assist you shortly.

Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsGreat, but a little flimsy?

Pros: Installed very easily and everything connected to it great. It's labelled clearly so I knew where to put everything.

Cons: It seems a bit flimsy. I was afraid of snapping it when I was putting some parts onto it. It also didn't recognize that I had a graphics card installed into it, but I'm pretty sure it was a faulty card.

3 out of 5 eggssolid board

Pros: great on the budget; has a good feature set for a <$100 board; easy installation and configuration; pci-e 3.0

Cons: unfortunately the board died about one year after i owned it; the problem may have existed since the beginning since i had a few problems at the start related to non-recognition of the usb ports; the board also comes with what i call (for lack of a better term) bloatware in the form of various dubious programs that supposedly improve network latency and increase 3d rendering capability. from what i could tell these were just a lot of fancy buttons and graphs to make people feel good, but it was fairly easy to disable them all.

Other Thoughts: customer support and the rma process appear to be fairly painless; each user has a 3 year warranty (assuming you didn't break it yourself by bending pins or whatever); the total time to call a tech, confirm motherboard failure, and set up an rma was <5 minutes; will update depending on my experiences with the rma process.
