5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: First things I've done with this motherboard: Overclock my locked i5.

With some time testing, I've got my i5-3570 running @ 4.3 Ghz. It's my first "solo" overclocking and everything went really smooth with the really easy user-friendly bios.

A little plus: I really like black and red.

Cons: I wish I had paid a little less from this bord, but it works just as expected, maybe 10$ too much.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome motherboard

Pros: Great placement of ports, and the color scheme looks aesthetically pleasing for those with window cases. All solid caps, your first indication this board is made with high end components. Fired right up on first boot. Runs pretty cool as well. There are higher end boards available in the Fatal1ty line, but this one is the right amount of board at the right price.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: ASRock builds outstanding boards. You'll be extremely happy with your purchase.

Pros: Well Placed ports, Well Built, Great for a build on a budget

Cons: Extra Utilities on the driver disk are annoying but can be avoided by only installing drivers from the disk

5 out of 5 eggsReliable + Good Price

Pros: This motherboard had just the right amount of features I was looking for, and has worked fine for 1 year now with no problems. Good price for a performance mobo.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not good if you want to do multiple graphics cards.

5 out of 5 eggsone of the best z77 boards (for the $) with a DANGEROUS design flaw

Pros: I did a lot of research and comparison shopping both online and locally before I decided to go with this. I bet many people overlook this because I don't think ASRock did enough marketing for this series. Anyways, I was looking 1)full-size ATX w/9 mounting holes 2)high quality craftsmanship i.e. Japanese capacitors 3)good layout w/at least 1 PCI. This board meets all my requirements plus some nice extras like 12-phase digital power, diagnostic LED, etc. Lastly, this board has the best BIOS presets I've ever seen; all the default settings are what a pro would choose, I almost didn't have to change anything.

Cons: The Combo Cooler Option (C.C.O.) which lets you use LGA 775 heatsink can potentially make you break the board YOURSELF! I was trying to mount the STOCK heatsink that came with my Core 2 Quad on this board when I noticed something wasn't right. No matter how much force I applied, one of the pushpins wouldn't go into the corresponding mounting hole. So I stopped and saw that the TOP LEFT edge of the LGA 1155 bracket was in the way of the heatsink. Basically ASRock's CCO feature is nothing but a second set of mounting holes for LGA775, rotated slightly, and this rotation is the root of the problem. Had I used more force to try to mount the heatsink, I probably would've snapped the board in half! I'm wondering did ASRock's engineers even try this feature themselves?? I was going to knock off an egg but it's still a great board and this isn't a problem to anyone who's not using 775 heatsink on it.

Other Thoughts: I missed a $10 rebate that showed up right after I bought it, oh well...

5 out of 5 eggs555 FAST>>>>>>

Pros: Fast boot on this board is something else. It works with an HDD the same as an SSD. I tried it on both. I thought the temp control was malfunctioning in the GPU tweek because my other 3 PCs on another top competitors board were showing lower temps, so i installed HWMonitor on them all. Asrock was the only one that was close to the real temp, the others were reading the temps way to low. I'm not that impressed with the fan control in the GPU tweek, but with trial and error I was able get it set-up to where I wanted it. Over all I'm satisfied with getting so much new tech on this board for only $108 after rebate. Well, new tech to me.

Cons: Only had it 2 weeks and haven't found anything to be dissapointed about.

Other Thoughts: The fast boot takes about 3 seconds and you're online and ready to go.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. ASRock mainboards are fully tested to assure that they're working before shipped. Unfortunately, due to nature of electronic product, it can happen.
For the future reference, pre-trouble shooting can be done by below steps with known good components;
Remove the mainboard from inside computer to outside, place the mainboard on top of the empty mainboard’s box
Clear the CMOS
Check the mainboard’s CPU socket pins should not be bent
Reseat the CPU with heatsink fan as well if socket pins are normal
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered), try with another known good memory if its same issue.
Using onboard Video (CPU with iGPU supported or test with VGA card)
Power supply with connecting 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power to the mainboard
Plug the computer case’s power switch to mainboard's front panel power header and try again
As always, we appreciate your purchase and constructive reviews are welcome.

Thank you
