5 out of 5 eggsSo far...

Pros: Amazing Motherboard... tons of sata drive options... the backplane has a ton of options usb 3... usb 2... hdmi... heck, you name it! Make sure you get a good solid power supply with lots of options, I used the Rosewill 600... and it worked out well...

Cons: Make sure that you get everything aligned properly before seating the motherboard, there's a lot to take into consideration... cables, CPU heatsink, Sata cable connections/locations... pretty minor stuff compared to what you get.

Other Thoughts: Love the options available with the drive, given the other reviews, I purchased a longer warranty, here's hoping I don't need it!

1 out of 5 eggsmemory compatibility

Pros: hdd space

Cons: wont work with my memory, although its in the memory compatibility list

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Mainboard supports most of the memory on the market.
For the issue, please turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Test with single stick memory, try with another known good memory if its same issue.
Set the XMP under BIOS, OC Tweaker, DRAM Timing Configuration, Load XMP setting [Profile1].
If you have any technical questions or warranty issues please contact our Tech Support at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We can assist you shortly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far So Good

Pros: Fast. Looks good. Easy to overclock when paired with i7-3770K and cooled with Corsair H100i.

Cons: None so far...

Other Thoughts: I have always had Asus mobo's but decided to give this one a try. The reviews were mixed but better overall than not. The bios have come a long way and have made overclocking so much easier. Props to ASRock for easy to navigate and use bios. Would recommend to others for sure. Next time I'm in the market for mobo's for my personal rig, I'll definetly consider ASRock again.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Board

Pros: -Looks Nice
-Lots of features
-Makes it easy to OC
-Many ports at the back for new and old parts

Cons: -Not a $200 feel
-Specific to myself/Anyone who has the same air cooler (See Other)

Other Thoughts: So I did not buy this off of newegg, but I did get it off someone from Overclockers.net and this board is a giant upgrade than my Intel DX48BT2 (fit my needs for my old setup). Yes it was used but everything worked great and is easy to see all the options in the BiOS (could just be me since I never owned a board like this. However I did find out (the hard way) that my Xigmatek Dark Knight ii DOES NOT FIT ON THE BOARD. I say again: IF YOU HAVE A DARK KNIGHT HEATSINK IT DOES NOT FIT. Unfortunately I don't have another HS or cooler to put on there and the paste I have on there is the Arctic Silver 5 and its still curing. Therefore I get 90C temps when under heavy load. So a big recommendation is to get a cooler that FITS. Still not enough to knock down an egg in my opinion.

4 out of 5 eggsJust buy the ROG Board

Pros: -Very easy to use bios
-fan controller is practical but Asus has better
-it looks cool...

SEE CONS!!

Cons: for $200 i thought i was buying a solid board from a solid brand. all Asrock did was through Fatal1ty's name on the board with some fancy heatsinks. this is just a pretty Extreme 6. save another $50 and just buy the rampage IV. better software and higher quality parts. i installed my cpu flawlessly. inserted RAM (2X8GB) and, of course, neither drimm was recognized. MULTIPLE people have had the same problem and error code. i want to run 4x8 for a RAM disk but it seems i only have 1 channel working which is fine for now. the problems dont stop there however. my friend brought over his 660ti (my 7970 is out of stock -____-) and we download all the drivers and everything is going great until we plug in the gpu and the mobo doesnt even reckognize it! now indication it was even inserted! HA! poor slot... i will update if i can fix it. i lifted the cpu and checked every single pin and they are all fine. bad slots for a name and a piece of garbage board. buy the Asus Rampage IV. you wont be sorry

Other Thoughts: look elsewhere or dont spend so much

TL;DR board is cheap so buy something else

4 out of 5 eggsHmm,

Pros: Board has everything you could think of (Usb 2.0 , Usb 3.0 , Esata, SLI Ready , Crossfire Ready, Extra USB 3.0 connection). Over all the board is awesome!

Cons: AUDIO PORTS SUCK BADLY! I can't get voice to come in clear when connected through the mic in or line in ports. I need to invest into a audio card! Around Processor there is to much going on. can't chose from many heatsink since the area is tightly packed with stuff.

Other Thoughts: Awesome board, Fix the audio ports on Motherboard. they suck. Also tone down on the clutter on the board. hard to make aftermarket parts fit i

4 out of 5 eggsBuy it for 6 SATA ports, not 10

Pros: VT-d support

Cons: ASM1062 controller is awful. The A1,A2,A3,A4 ports use a pair of ASM1062 controllers. I had a difficult time trying to get it to pick up an attached drive on A4. Ultimately I'll be picking up some new hardware to support my ZFS setup.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall Good - Network Misleading

Pros: Asrock's fatal1ty series are always nice, I've always liked them. Plenty of USB 3, SATA 3, PCIe Slots, CPU and memory support.

Cons: The dual gigabit ethernet ports are advertised by Asrock to support teaming. According to broadcom, this particular chipset does not. Teaming was a big reason I got this motherboard. I'll have to buy a pair of intel adapters seperately.

Other Asrock Fatal1ty motherboards included network chips by realtek, which support teaming and support it wonderfully and easily.

Something I wish I had known before purchasing.

Other Thoughts: I personally like the Z68 Gen3 Professional (N82E16813157263), but it was out of stock when I purchased this. I would recommend that motherboard over this one.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board!

Pros: (6) SATA III ports, (4) SATA II ports, (1) IDE port, Dr. Debug (quick troubleshooting), plenty of USB 3 ports, Clear CMOS button on the I/O panel, TONS of features!

Cons: Needed to update the BIOS to the latest version to get my G.SKILL Trident X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C7Q-32GTX to work. :-( This isn't Neweggs fault but since they suggested G.SKILL memory in 2GB and 4GB sticks, I thought the 8GB sticks would work too off the bat. I would like to see Newegg make a point on all motherboard purchases to check with the manufacturer of the board to make sure the correct memory is used. This would prevent some from assuming based off of simple "suggested items" to purchase with the board. This is the only reason why I kept one egg from the rating.

Other Thoughts: After assembling my entire system, Dr Debug spit out the error "55" which said in the book "Memory undetected". I didn't get video. I ended up having to track down one of my friends with some DDR 3 ram that worked off the bat, just to update the boards BIOS to HOPE that it would then recognize my memory. With luck, it did. If you go to the manufacturer's website, it does not state this ram I used as compatible. Other than this 24 hour running around time to get the bios updated to get my memory working, I finally did and to my amazement, I'm literally BLOWN AWAY with ALL THE FEATURES this board has to offer! I found out that you have to change a bios setting to take four of the SATA III ports out of raid mode to allow those drives hooked up to them to be seen as single drives in the OS. LOVE THE BOARD!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I bought 2 of these and one of them went dead after a month and a half. I decided to buy another board and keep the replacement for a spare. I liked that when I called tech support I was speaking to someone in California and not in India. They approved my RMA under warranty the same day they received it. The whole process took about 2 weeks. I piggybacked the replacement on my old machine and ran it for several days to test it. It worked fine so I put it back in the static bag in case I ever need it. Other than the one failing I have been very pleased with these boards. My systems have run more stable than with any previous board. No lock-ups or blue screens. The bios screens are great. You can click on the sata ports and you get a picture showing showing all drives connected. When I had a loose connection it was easy to see exactly which one it was. My main machine has ran 24/7 for three months flawlessly.

Cons: I did have to pay $15 shipping and their tech support is not a toll free number. Probably most manufacturers make you pay to ship the product back but I felt that since I only had it about 6 weeks when it crashed they should have covered the shipping.

Other Thoughts: I have bought a lot of electronics over the years and every brand you could possibly name has had some products go bad. All it takes is a single component to fail. I once sent in a satellite receiver that died for repair and it turned out that all it needed was to replace a $2 diode. In the future if I upgrade again I would consider buying ASRock again.
