5 out of 5 eggsgreat small board

Pros: small, easy to set up, plenty of usb ports

Cons: none unless you are worried about a future-proof build - only supports 16gb of ram

Other Thoughts: Used this for my first custom build, so this may be normal, but the video card (geforce 650ti) would only fit on the board in a way such that it blocked one of the PCI slots from usage (essentially taking up both the PCI Express 3.0 slot and one of the PCI slots)

1 out of 5 eggsDefective after 3 months

Pros: Feature-packed while it worked.

Cons: After about 3 months, the computer would crash with rainbow lights flashing. According to others who left reviews, they had the same problem with this board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

Sorry to hear that the mainboard has malfunctioned after 3 months which’s due to nature of electronic product, it can happen.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard to check if its resolved.
Turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Set the UEFI BIOS default.
Test with single memory module.
Test with onboard VGA (required CPU with iGPU) or known good discrete VGA card.
If problem still persist, please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Mobo

Pros: was easy to install and labeled well/

Cons: One of the RAM slots were defective and cause my rig to restart and beep 4 times and restart again. This is my first build ever and I got a bad mobo. I am forced to stick with it versus RMA bc I need it for college so I am running on 4gb of RAM until I can afford an MSI thanks asrock.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard:
Unplug the ATX power.
Clear the CMOS.
Check the mainboard’s CPU socket pins are normal (should be pointing same way and pattern).
Reseat the CPU with heatsink fan as well if socket pins are normal.
Test with single memory module on each one by on to check if its resolved.
If you have any technical issues or warranty questions please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We can assist you shortly.

1 out of 5 eggsBoard Arrived CPU Pins Damaged

Pros: I have used ASRock mobo in the past.
Excellent boards.(( in the past ))

Can someone advise?

Cons: RMA'd this board- Newegg returned board back to me. They said CPU pins damaged. I am very unhappy - this board has cost me weel over 120.00 with shipping costs, etc. and is useless.

I have been building systems over 15 years - this is a first.

Other Thoughts: I need help on resolving this issue - maybe ASrock can aid me in what I should do...

Very unhappy with ASRock and Newegg.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. ASRock mainboards are fully tested to assure that they're working before shipped.
The CPU socket on the mainboard has been covered with protection CAP to avoid damage the pins during the shipping.
In addition, the CPU socket pins on the mainboard are fragile and need to be handling with careful to avoid physical damage and affect the warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Customer Service

Pros: Board is fine when it works

Cons: Customer Service from ASRock

Other Thoughts: If the board fails, which mine did, within the warranty period, YOU are responsible for shipping costs back to ASRock. Sorry already bought the board...why should I have to pay more to continue owning it.

Horrible customer service policy.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Solid board, nice features for a mATX, stable, UEFI Bios

Cons: Putting the CPU in place takes some effort on the arm, kinda scary for a first time builder like me. Comes with crapware, but you don't have to install it.

Other Thoughts: Used this in my first ever build. Wanted a cheap budget system that would play all the games I wanted. This board has some very nice features. No issues in over 6 months of solid use. Liked it so much, just ordered a second one for a build for my kids to do school work and light gaming on.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't recommend

Pros: Ran well for a few months.

Cons: The USB ports don't work for long. They continue to disconnect and reconnect. Their customer support is just miserable in helping this issue out.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from this product.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Brad,

We apologize for any inconvenience it may cause to you.
Please refer to below suggestions to try again.
1. Load BIOS default settings to check if USB ports work.
2. Test the front and rear USB ports to check whether the ports work well.
3. Test with other USB devices to verify.

If you still have any technical issues or questions, please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp.
We can assist you shortly.

Thank you for the support!

1 out of 5 eggsMostly dead.

Pros: Great features!
Worked great for a couple months...

Cons: Now it won't stay up. Video starts flashing various colors, then PC will turn itself off after a couple minutes. (Using on board video.) (Happens anywhere from a couple seconds after powering on to ten minutes of being up and functional.) Verified that it's not just a video problem via remote connectivity attempts, PC has locked up once it starts its flashy thing. I have replaced *ALL* other components at this point (except the case). (Also, verified RAM and CPU is on approved list.) No doubt that it's mobo at this point.

In addition, ASRock support staff not being helpful at this point. I have attempted all known avenues of getting through ASRock support: submitted a support ticket through their website, phone (left a message with a very confused man), e-mailed user@asrockamerica.com & support@asrockamerica.com. I have received NO RESPONSE beyond an automated one from submitting the support ticket.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Download and update the latest BIOS at link "http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H77M/?cat=Download&os=BIOS".
Set the UEFI BIOS default.
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered) to check if the symptom still occurs.
If you have any technical issues or warranty questions please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We can assist you shortly.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Amazingly simple to set up, bios are well set up for the average user that doesn't have the need to OC, but the on screen software that comes with it allows for everything to be controlled from the desktop as well.

Has 3 startup speeds - (Con) Highest setting is to fast to enter Bios. Highest setting allows Windows 8.1 to open and fully load in under 15 seconds with on a non-SSD drive.

Great fan control along with IES power for lower voltages for your cpu.

Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 were all tested on the board and all took to it without any changes needed.

Non recommended memory was also a go without a hitch.

Overall a very solid, cheaper build board that offers many options (OC'ing) if need be.

Cons: Needed to buy some 90* sata cables to hook up above the first PCIx16 slot but thinner cables will work.

Fastest Boot setting is to fast to allow into bios on startup.

Other Thoughts: Definetly will be looking at ASRock for other boards.
