1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Not sure.

Cons: Motherboard was DOA. Would not past POST, did not boot to screen through onboard VGA or HDMI. Not sure if the BIOS was out-dated or not.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved.
Unplug the ATX power, remove all components from mainboard.
Remove the mainboard from chassis, place it on mainboard’s box.
Clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan.
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered).
Test with onboard VGA (CPU with iGPU/APU supported or test with VGA card).
Plug the 24 + 8 or 4 pins ATX power.
Plug the chassis power switch to mainboard, and try again.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: It came in on time

Cons: I connected the psu to the motherboard and it wouldn't turn on, i tried the paper clip method on the psu and the psu turned on. Meaning the psu is not connecting properly with the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I installed everything on that board too, it'll be a pain to re install everything on the new one.

1 out of 5 eggsNot this one...

Pros: Good features for the price

Cons: I'm writing this after struggling with the second one of these boards that has arrived to me for a customer's build. The first one powered up fine and POSTed to BIOS. Since the customer was going to install his own OS, I checked to make sure all the components were correctly recognized, then shut it down and boxed the system for delivery. When the customer picked up the system, I plugged it in and... no power. I changed the PSU for a known-good supply, no power.

Called Newegg and they gave me an advance replacement RMA. The second board showed up and... power comes on just long enough to make the case fans and LEDs show up, the CPU fan twitches, and that's it. I've tested every pin on every lead of the PSU, tested the case power switch, tried unplugging peripherals until there's nothing left connected except the CPU and CPU fan, cleared CMOS, traced every case wire lead for shorts, etc.

The second board is going back today and I'm ordering an ASUS Z77 board.

Other Thoughts: This is not Newegg's fault; when you sell a brand you sell the good, bad and ugly that comes from the brand.

And, I don't think this is ASRock's fault (entirely), either. Right now there are 20 different Z77 boards for sale on Newegg, and one Z75 board, this model. Aside from some big brands (HP, Dell, etc.) not one company aside from ASRock is offering a board based on this chipset. So, either ASRock's QC is poor or everybody else noticed some major issue and declined to manufacture Z75 boards.

I have built numerous systems using ASRock boards, and never had issues like this. The PC on which I'm writing this review has an AM3+ ASRock board and has been running without a hitch for over two years. I've got a business customer with an ASRock H77 board. That system gets used all day, every day in a carpentry workshop and is coming up on two years itself.

So, I think this model is an anomaly, not reflective on ASRock in general and certainly not Newegg.

That being said, run away!!!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Really good motherboard for the money for those who are tired of paying hundreds for a motherboard or just want to build a "basic gaming" computer. Motherboard is black, and not baby blue which is a huge pro for me!
Seems pretty solid to me.

Cons: The 6 gb/s SATA ports couldn't be at any worse location. If you have a big GPU then you might feel that it's gonna block them. Also, it would have been nice to have 90 degrees SATA ports on the motherboard.

The black plastic above the CPU slot can be moved. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that or it's broken. It doesn't affect the motherboard so whatever.

This motherboard doesn't start up without CPU in it! So if you think you have a DOA, try to install your CPU first.

Other Thoughts: I have got it in 2 days with Egg Saver which is great!

1 out of 5 eggsDied after 6 months.

Pros: Worked great for a couple months.
It's very good looking.
Great board if it works.

Cons: Keeps shutting down.
Sometimes won't turn on.

Other Thoughts: After six months of use this mobo started to show signs of dying. I updated the bios and changed my RAM to a new slot and that worked for a couple of hours but it quickly went bad again. The computer will no longer run with my RAM in the second slot. I am using the third slot just for it to work. It's clear that this mobo will die quickly.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Set the UEFI/BIOS default.
Reinstall CPU and cooler.
Test with single memory module on each slot one by one.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Replacement

Pros: Easy install, Flawless BIOS setup. I have just installed this board with a clean windows installation. Never went with AsRock before this board. I'm quit impressed with the quality for a low cost board. I bought this board to replace an Asus P8 75 m. My Asus had a bad PCIE 3.0 stuck in 4x mode. Board still works. But you wont be able to use high end gpu. which I intend to reuse it in a work PC build.

Cons: None really. Maybe no SLI. But I did buy this board just for a single card setup.

5 out of 5 eggsBUY THIS BOARD

Pros: Small yet still full ATX that's amazing. I did almost nothing to get this board working. Put everything in, hooked everything up and BAM it's on. Overclocking options are endless! There's even an option so that you can overclock non-k CPU's. One click and my 1066 ram is at 1333. I won't overclock my non-k CPU with just the stock heat sink so i'm not sure how well that works.

I can actually use the PCI-E 1x slot for my sound card. A lot of boards place that right below the video card slot and you can't use it because the video card has it covered.

This board is perfect!!! BUY IT !

Cons: This isn't really a con, more of a silly computer build by me....but windows 7 doesn't native-ly recognize the realtek ethernet. I don't even have a cd-rom drive in my computer so I had to find one and hook it up just to get the ethernet driver off of the CD.

Other Thoughts: All motherboards, even your high end $200+ boards can come DOA. Don't fear because you are buying a "cheaper" board that it's going to just come DOA. This is NOT the case.

Also. Trouble shoot if you are having problems. I've had this board for a week and I was about done with it. I was having problems so I started taking each stick of ram out one by one and realized i had a bad stick of ram. Still had problems, realized the nvidia driver i was using was giving me issues. Continued to have more problems and realized my heat sink had popped off just slightly and it was sensing it wasn't getting proper cooling. After fixing my ram I could have easily just gotten on here and ripped this board apart and filed an RMA.

LOVE THIS BOARD!!!
