5 out of 5 eggsInexpensive MB with just the features I needed.

Pros: Easy bios, usb 3.0, two 6Gb/s sata connectors, cheap price, compatibility with my Zeon e3 1270v2 processor. Great easy setup using the Zeon chip and 16 GB of 1600 non ecc memory. Passmark cpu score of 10456. Can have 20+ open sites in IE while gaming and it stays rock solid. Running 4 ssd's and two optical drives on it and it's been solid so far. Only been using it for a week and if I run into any problems with it (before I upgrade:) I'll update this.

Cons: Had primary ssd in 0 and it didn't recognize it, switched it to 1 and it did. Minor.

Other Thoughts: Didn't want to spend much due to a future 1150 upgrade so this fit the bill.

Update 2/10/16 After doing some overclocking I noticed it trying to set the multiplier to x45 no matter what I actually had it set to. It was also automatically overvolting even though I had manually set the voltage. Thought I had killed the board, but reset cmos with the jumper and all is well now.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay board for the price

Pros: Good price
Replaced my old broken board with similar stats

Cons: Something is very wrong with the sound. Some of my movies won't play at the correct volume and even internet videos have to be played at max digital volume with my speakers on max. THIS did not happen with my older ASROCK Z77 that it replaced. This has to be a board problem because nothing else changed.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Emil,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please download and install the audio driver at link below (select proper OS).

1 out of 5 eggsDead on Arrival

Pros: Inexpensive and not too many boards LGA 1155 compatible still on the market.

Cons: No Power LED on the board indicating if it's receiving power or not.

Other Thoughts: Wasn't able to evaluate the board properly seeing as how it was DEAD ON ARRIVAL!

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsmemory bank 3 defective.

Pros: easy to use interface, neat features, easy to oc.

Cons: after crashing non stop and running memtest for nearly 14 hours, i noticed that my 16gb of ram failed together, but not individually. i decided to test em in different slots, and when i put one in channel 3, i got non stop errors. i'm now limited to using slot 2 and 4 to keep dual channel. so using 8gb of ram.

Other Thoughts: considering how difficult my heatsink was to install, i won't be returning this motherboard and just keep using it with 8gb until it dies.then i'll upgrade to a new platform and put the old 2500k to rest. so much for quality control.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Yannick,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please try below to check if it address the issue.
Clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU and cooler.
Test with single memory on each slot one by one.
Test with another memory if problem still persist.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy setup, great BIOS, and great support - Drivers updated up to Windows 10!

Pros: -GUI BIOS, very user friendly, most all settings wanted were selected out the box i.e. defaulted on AHCI instead of IDE.
-Nice layout, easy to read instructions/on board markers/guides
-Super fast performance (all things equal PC boots faster/more responsive with this board over my old GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3P that failed)

Cons: (personal con) I wish I had bought an ASRock board back in 2011 with my LGA 1155 build instead of a Gigabyte board...

Other Thoughts: Bought a GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3P in 2011 along with whole build (processor, memory, new case, etc. etc.) motherboard has been flaky (BSOD on occasion) for a while, finally bit the dust on me recently, was a pain to setup initially, etc. Fast forward to buying this ASRock board (I didn't want to do a whole new build again) and it's a night and day difference, this ASRock boots super fast, I had no issues loading the OS from a USB Drive - everything runs super smooth, also in hindsight manufacturer support is far superior with ASRock over Gigabyte - both boards were released in a similar time frame, my Gigabyte board stopped being supported at windows 8 (driver wise) - and that board has notorious issues with difficulty to setup an SSD and it not liking USB drives as bootables, lets just say my board dying the way seems to be a common theme with those. Meanwhile, this ASRock has full driver support for Windows 10 32/64 bit! To further my point... the Gigabyte video card I purchased with my 2011 build only has drivers for XP/Vista/Windows 7 on the Gigabyte site :o Luckily Win 10 has drivers out the box that work for it, plus I downloaded the latest Nvidia software so it works fine. Between the 2 the ASRock seems much more refined and polished both in terms of hardware and software.

I close with this, I won't be buying from Gigabyte anytime soon, and ASRock has made my list of trusted products - I fully expect this board to outlive my old one.

4 out of 5 eggsA good budget board if you're still using Ivy Bridge

Pros: - This was the last new Z77/B75 motherboard I could find on the internet from a reputable seller.
- There are regular PCI slots if you happen to be hanging on to some really old stuff (this is also a con).
- This was relatively cheap at $85 for a full ATX board that could do crossfire, RAID, and overlocking

Cons: - Placement of the SATA ports are annoying. I have two AMD video cards in Crossfire and they completely cover the four 3Gb/s ports. They are not rotated 90 degrees off the edge of the motherboard like they should be so I've have to deal with some ugly wire routing through and around by two video cards to hook up my 4 hard drives. The two 6Gb/s ports I use for my SSDs are further up the board so they aren't an issue.

- The CMOS battery seemed to be DOA. The system would boot fine sporadically and would reboot out of Windows fine but when turned off overnight and started from a cold boot in the morning the system would spin up the fans but nothing happen beyond that. I had to clear the CMOS every time to get reset the BIOS defaults and it would boot. I replaced bought a new CR2032 battery and that seems to have fixed the problem but I'll need more time to see if this actually fixed the problem. If it's not the CMOS battery then something is definitely wrong and I"ll have to return this board (this was after the usual troubleshooting such pulling all video cards, testing memory and slot combinations, etc)

-Why are there two old PCI slots instead of PCI express slots?

-The front panel USB 3.0 connector on my Corsair 750D case does not fit any of the motherboard headers. I'm not sure if the Corsair connector is proprietary or if this ASRock board is just missing it. My previous MSI Z77 board had the proper header so now I'm down two front panel USB 3.0 ports.

-No onboard BIOS speaker. Troubleshooting is more difficult without being able to hear audible error beeps.

Other Thoughts: I think I bought the last of this board chipset available anywhere since it's such an older chipset. If I had to buy it again I probably wouldn't for my specific needs (overlocked i5-3570K, 6 hard drives, two AMD Radeon 7850s). The layout of the board is annoying, the dead CMOS battery was annoying, the BIOS is definitely barebones, the rear I/O panel shield isn't as nice as a Z77 board that has nicer colors and diagrams.

I bought this to replace a Z77 board that died while I wait for Z170 boards to mature and prices for Skylake processors to come down and it's doing the job. If you're in my position still using an Ivy Bridge processor and you're needing a band aid or you don't need something too fancy and you can get your hands on an Ivy Bridge processor then this motherboard is fine. It's definitely a budget board but that's what I expected being a B75 vs. Z77. For the average budget user or someone cannibalizing older parts into an new computer I would recommend this board.

3 out of 5 eggsGood MOBO

Pros: -Board works out of the box
-Easy to use BIOS
-One of very few motherboards left that supports lga1155 socket

Cons: -8 pin power connector is towards the top, just right of center of the mobo. For me it meant that my AIO Liquid cooler (thermaltake water 3.0, push configuration) could no longer be mounted on the top of my case because the cable is in the way. Either have to put the radiator on one side and fans on the other side of the grill, or find a different spot to mount the radiator altogether

Other Thoughts: Other than the con I mentioned above, this mobo works great. Just don't make the same mistake I did and make sure if you're using a bigger radiator that you have enough clearance

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Works really well. Replaced my 3yr-old(and dead) gigabyte h77m board.
On my previous board I had to update the bios to make it compatible with gtx760 (otherwise it would just show black screen all day and wont boot), but this one was just plug&play so that's a plus for me.
Hard to find better lga1155 board these days

Cons: PC wouldn't shut down after installation (windows shuts down but cpu cooler and other fans won't).
However, CMOS reset fixed it right away; didn't need such surprise though.

Other Thoughts: Board works nicely for now but some other reviews say it didn't last long. Will see how long mine lasts :S

1 out of 5 eggsAnother DOA

Pros: looked shiny..

Cons: Dead...

Other Thoughts: ..second DOA motherboard I get from Newegg.... I wonder what is the percentage of dead motherboards that people get...

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Mirtha,

Sorry to hear that the second mainboard having same issue.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved.
• Unplug the ATX power, remove all components from mainboard.
• Remove the mainboard from chassis, place it on mainboard’s box.
• Clear the CMOS.
• Check the mainboard’s CPU contact pins are normal (should be pointing same way and pattern).
• Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan if socket pins are normal.
• Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered).
• Test with onboard video (CPU with iGPU or test with VGA card).
• Connect the monitor.
• Plug the 24 + 8 or 4 pins ATX power.
• Connect the chassis power switch to mainboard.
• Turn on the power to check if its post.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks well, components dying slowly

Pros: It replaced by z77 that was damaged from a power surge. Mostly the same things; and all the stuff that i needed.

Cons: While the motherboard is still functional the Primary PCI-Ex16 died after 1 year and 1 month of use. The only saving grace is that there are 2, and i only use one video card.

The placement of the SATA ports are poor, also. They are draped around the PCI-Ex16 ports. If you have the SATA locking-cables, then you have to remove your GFX card if you are to take them out.
