1 out of 5 eggsBad Board...

Pros: None, but I really didn't get to experience the board before it died.

Cons: Board came with a dead CMOS battery and had issues from day 1. I'm sure I just got a bad board(1st time from Newegg) but the issues i experienced from day 1 were enough for me to warn other potential buyers. Blue screens and freezes from day one. The worst part is the board died 12 days out of Newegg warranty so it could be a while before I get a replacement and update this review accordingly. Like I said it could be a bad board but just be wary.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
ASRock mainboards are fully tested to assure that they're working before shipped. Unfortunately, due to nature of electronic product, it can happen.
Please update the replacement mainboard's working fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board !

Pros: The board runs smoothly and wonderful. The BIOS is easy as pie, and the new layout is really something to behold. I really like this motherboard, and believe me when I say I have used and sold and repaired a lot of different motherboards in my day. This one has to be one of the best. I use this one as my gaming system. :)

Cons: None. At all, yet.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent board

Pros: I have built several systems with these boards, and use it on my personal gaming rig, no problems of any kind, reliable as a piece of iron. Runs fast, what else to say? For 75 bucks, it's a great bargain, 2 sata 3 ports on mobo, so good too.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Would like to see this board in a micro atx config.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for 48 hours, then PCIe failed.

Pros: On paper the board was pretty much what I needed for a great price point. Worked out of the box, easy to install and gave absolutely normal performance for the first couple of days.

Cons: ...then out of nowhere, while on the computer I lose my signal inputs for both screens, forced to restart. Upon restarting I received no signal via my PCIe slot, and was forced to default to the onboard input. After changing PCIe slots from the PCIe 3.0 x16 to the PCIe 2.0 x16 I still got no input, and worse the system was not even seeing my video card. Also tried changing PCIe speed from Auto to Gen1 in BIOS...nothing. I even tried another card in both slots...didn't detect that either. After the fact I've read up and it seems other users have also reported issues with the PCIe 3.0 slot, but I seem to have it even worse as NEITHER of my PCIe options are functional.

Other Thoughts: So now it seems I'll have to refund this board or try my luck with another. Sadly, there aren't that many options around the same pricepoint and form factor that AREN'T ASRock. My next best bet would be in the $100-$150 price range. Seems others have received functioning boards, so I may just try my luck once. Regardless, potential buyers beware, you may end up with the same issues.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Goliathicus,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
For the issue, please turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU and cooler.
Set the UEFI BIOS default.
Install VGA card firmly with its PCIE power.
Test on another PCIE slot.
Test with another VGA card.

5 out of 5 eggsMost of the Z77 features for 2/3 the price

Pros: Two full length PCIe slots (one 3.0 16x, one 2.0 16x), two PCI slots, and an PCIe 1x slot. Solid construction, four RAM slots while being closer to mATX size than ATX. Z75 chipset, decent onboard audio. USB 3.0 front header. Layed out well - easy cable management do to short depth of the board as well as placing of SATA and header connections. Nice black theme. Non-K overclocking with the click of a button (CPU can run all cores at max Turbo bin). ASrock's UEFI is easy to navigate, much better on this board than on their AMD 970 Extreme3.

Cons: No eSATA, no PCIe 4x slots.

Other Thoughts: You can pick up some extra performance from your non-K i5 or i7 on this board while getting 90% of the features on more expensive boards.

1 out of 5 eggsDisplay signal DOA

Pros: None

Cons: DOA Display signal, attempted to boot just BIOS, no HDD / graphics card / memory, nothing but CPU / fan attached. Could not display with 3 different monitors, on 3 different display signals VGA, DVI-, display port.

Other Thoughts: Power cable to motherboard is very hard to get in / out, does not clip well and seems extremely cheaply made. Wanting a complete refund for this piece of garbage board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved;
Unplug the ATX power.
Remove the mainboard from chassis, place the mainboard on mainboard’s box
Clear the CMOS.
Check the mainboard’s CPU socket contact pins are normal (should be pointing same way and pattern)
Reseat the CPU with heatsink fan as well if socket pins are normal
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered)
Plug monitor to onboard VGA (CPU with iGPU/APU supported or test with VGA card)
Plug the 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power
Plug the chassis power switch to mainboard, and try again
If you have any technical issues or warranty questions please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

1 out of 5 eggsPCI 3.0 Didn't work

Pros: Has everything I needed for my 2500 i5 cpu. Built in Sound is decent

Cons: PCI 3.0 Slot didn't work right out of the box. I had a tech look at it locally and they confirmed. I was told by newegg to buy another board and RMA this one.. Thats a lot of work and I don't have the time or the money to buy and swap another one. This was their fault not mine, why should I be inconvenienced the additional $85?

Other Thoughts: As a premier customer... this is unacceptable... 2 of the last 3 things I have ordered from Newegg have arrived damaged or not working from them. Only solution shell out the money again.. wait for it, re-install it, mail it back, wait for money to be given back to me? Not a good customer service model. Especially for Premier Customer!!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Jason,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved;
Turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU and cooler.
Reseat the VGA card firmly with PCIE power to try.

If problem still persist, remove the VGA card (using onboard VGA).
Set the UEFI BIOS default.
Set the PCIE link speed to Gen1 at BIOS, Advanced, North Bridge Configuration, PCIE link speed [Gen1].

If you have any technical issues please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.
