2 out of 5 eggsOvervoltage problems

Pros: Board has been more or less stable when running stock

Cons: Does not detect RAM at correct bandwidth. There is no option to select my 1866MHz DDR3 RAM even though it's on the supported list and the manual claims it supports this speed without overclocking; the highest frequency available in the menu is 1333MHz even after updating the BIOS.

Also defaults to extremely high Northbridge and CPU voltages... My system still runs smoothly under stress test after dropping the stock CPU voltage almost 0.5v.

Third, the BIOS updates ASRock has released for it do not include support the best AM3+ chips, unlike many other boards out there.

Other Thoughts: I bought this board as a budget complement for my AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE after hearing good things about it. I would not have done so if I had known there were so many problems with stock voltages. To make matters worse, I wasn't able to take advantage of this when overclocking... 965s are known for making it to 3.8GHz with multiplier tweaks alone, but mine crashes before hitting 3.6 (sub-55C temps). I didn't anticipate this thing to have so many problems and it makes me reconsider my feelings for ASRock, which I'd previously had good experiences with.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

Thank you for purchase and review.
Memory speed is also related to CPU due to memory controller is built-in the CPU.
According to using CPU Phenom II X4 965, its memory controller is 1333.
For more information, please vist the link: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-Phenom%20II%20X4%20965%20Black%20Edition%20-%20HDZ965FBK4DGM%20(HDZ965FBGMBOX).html

For AM3+ CPU, due to mainbaord does not support 125w AM3+ CPU, the BIOS is not cover for those CPUs.
Please visit the link below for supported CPU list.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Budget Board

Pros: Finally decided to kick my old dfi ultra nf4 out and get into the times with ddr3 memory. Board has all the latest enhancements that I need for gaming DDR3, Sata3 6gbs for SSD, two pcie slots to support sli.

Cons: Check the cpu support list, it is lousy and I didn't realize my AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Desktop Processor FD4100WMGUSBX was not on the list. I had problems occasionally with it booting and couldn't figure out why. I replaced it with a new 6 core that was on the list and it seems to be fine.

Other Thoughts: Didn't overclock it, but it has all the functions to get a little extra out of your system. If my cpu would have worked I wouldnt have notched off 2 eggs. When the lists says its supports those models on here, then you go on the manufacturers site and it has specific models to choose from its kind of ridiculous. Ive had plenty of boards work with cpus not on the supported list.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
The CPU model (part number) can be match at "http://www.cpu-world.com/" most CPU have 2 different versions OEM and retail box.
Please copy the CPU model to match with above mentioned website.
For example: CPU model FD4100WMW4KGU is an OEM/tray microprocessor and FD4100WMGUSBX is a boxed microprocessor, so both CPU are supported with this mainboard.

4 out of 5 eggsI don't know what's wrong with everyone else

Pros: Still working hard and nothing is broken on it

Cons: only one graphics card port and only supports 32gb of RAM

Other Thoughts: I bought this when I built my first computer and it is still working and is great. I don't know what these other people are saying because I haven't had one problem with it, it's working great.

5 out of 5 eggsGood board

Pros: Affordable board with all the options of high end boards, 4x memory slots, oc capabilities etc

Cons: Sometimes I dont get an image when I turn it on, keyboard lights flash, fans change from high rpm to slow like windows is loading but no image. Tried diff vid cards with same results, also tried new psu, same thing, memory passed memtest so IDK. It takes multiple restarts to get a pic sometimes. aside from that its great.

Other Thoughts: lasted a year so far, cant complain. would buy again.

1 out of 5 eggsDied within 6 months.

Pros: It was cheap and it worked....for a while

Cons: Died on me, first i thought it was the gpu because i would lose monitor signal and it wouldn't work when i started up. Soon it wouldn't even power usb or reach post. No beeps no nothing. junk company, canned robot response to RMA telling you to return it to the retailer even though you can't. To top it off its no longer sold, that didn't take long. Do yourself a favor and avoid Asrock, they make cheap defective junk.

Other Thoughts: What a waste of money.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

Sorry to hear that the mainboard has malfunctioned after 6 months which’s due to nature of electronic product, it can happen.
We’re glad to replace the mainboard if mainboard has malfunctioned under RMA policy at " http://www.ASRock.com/support/index.asp?cat=Policy".
As always, we appreciate your purchase and constructive reviews are welcome.

3 out of 5 eggsSolid features but weird issues

Pros: All the features and support I need for a great price

Cons: Keeps burning through CMOS Batteries. Ive never seen this issue before. I checked for shorts but im at a loss. Ive pulled CMOS batteries that were almost too hot to handle. gone through 5 in last 2 months

Other Thoughts: I just wish this issue would have popped in my warranty, go figure right.

1 out of 5 eggsdon't buy

Pros: great buy if you need to throw one into a computer.

Cons: burns out easily after a few months

Other Thoughts: I bought a brand new one for my son for an Xmas gift and he used it for several months and suddenly burned out we had a RMA and they replaced it after a few emails, but the one they sent back was in even worse condition. I don't plan on buying from this company for mother boards and i would recommend buying that little bit more expensive motherboard, because it will last you a lot longer then this board.

1 out of 5 eggswhy make this product!?!?

Pros: great price and that's

Cons: bought one for xmas for a custom rig. came in normal after a few months of using it, it burned out without overclocking anything. ruined 2 of my hard drives and when was replaced they gave me a even more broken one, and I don't really see why I should buy from this company anymore.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

Sorry to hear that the mainboard has malfunctioned after 1 year which’s due to nature of electronic product, it can happen.
Please check the power supply or static causing the issues due to mainboard is not providing power direct to HDD.

1 out of 5 eggs2 broken Mobos

Pros: Cheap and had everything I needed. Used on my Mother's computer as a Christmas gift. Worked just fine... when it did work.

Cons: The first one I got came dead on arrival, but I got it replaced with the RMA, so that was just a minor headache. 8 months later it is broken again. Thought $10 for a Warranty was a bit high for a $70 Mobo (I've never needed to return any other New Egg equipment). Well this has been my first and last time using this company's hardware.

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsNot happy with ASRock

Pros: It worked for a while? Not a bad price? I don't really know what to say for pros.

Cons: The USB ports all died after 6 months. Trying to go through ASRock for a replacement hasn't been fun. Their support line feels very unprofessional even with the operator answering the phone,"Hello?" They don't offer Advanced replacement, so I'm out a computer for a couple of weeks. They don't have an online RMA submit form, so I had to wait a week to even get a response to my RMA request, and the guy that handles it is "on vacation". I feel like I'm dealing with a small business that is working out of their basement. Not Guuuuud!!

Other Thoughts: My first and last ASRock product.

Manufacturer Response:
