5 out of 5 eggsPERFECT OEM REPLACEMENT!

Pros: excellent oem replacement board for hp computer mobo failure

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: 1. this replaced a failed 2008 hp pc mobo failure
2. this board fits in oem case
3. the power headers/connectors are same place as oem board even pin placement is same on case headers
4. pc failed in 2011 was bought in 08, sat collecting dust until upgraded late 2013

even though had to buy new cpu/ram this was a quick cheap upgrade on a failed hp mobo using same case, power supply

paired with
*using original vista os 32 bit
*same stock/oem hdd
*upgraded Intel Celeron G1610 Ivy Bridge 2.6GHz
*upgraded G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR 1600

its no rocket however runs much better and faster then what was in it previously

3 out of 5 eggsBasic, works.

Pros: Works as advertised. Cheap!

Cons: Can't change multiplier for K series CPUs. No USB 3.0. Pretty basic stuff; Questionable support.

Other Thoughts: ASRock did not return multiple attempts to reach their support.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Many nice features, like pci-e 3.0 (supposedly) Updating the bios was easy.

Cons: My whole system broke. My integrated graphics froze all the time and I had to unplug my pc to shut it off. Destroyed my gtx 660 (thanks to EVGA that's not a problem) Looks like it fried the ram on the gpu. Constant hard drive corruption and bsod. The motherboard may not have caused all of this, but when I replaced it for an asus brand, all of my problems went away and my integrated graphics worked without issue. My processor seems faster too. Bios updates are rare. Maybe I just got a bad board?

Other Thoughts: There was finally a new bios update. I'm not sure if it was supposed to fix the problems I was having though because after updating, it corrupted my hard drive and I lost years of 3d models. This motherboard caused me nothing but trouble. Btw, the processor I used was an i5 3570k

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

Sorry to hear that the mainboard has malfunctioned after 1 year which’s due to nature of electronic product, it can happen.
Mainboard usually does not causing the hard drive data or damage the other components.
However, it could be any circumstance related to the issues.
As always, we appreciate your purchase and constructive reviews are welcome.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsSmall, Adorable, and works

Pros: Caused faster boot-up compared to a more expensive Gigabyte motherboard and perfectly stable

Cons: No USB 3.0, SATA 3.0, or any spare expansion ports, but we weren't concerned with any of that. This board is exactly as advertised and only increases my loyalty to ASrock.

Other Thoughts: Our old Gigabyte motherboard was causing freezing issues, so we got this to replace it as it was the cheapest option from not-Gigabyte at the time. It is TINY inside our full size case, but it speeds up the boot time by a lot and is perfectly stable. Outstanding purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple board that's reliable.

Pros: After a year, this board is still running strong, as it should be. Such a basic, budget-oriented board should last for years. In this case, less it definitely more. The board layout works great.

Cons: Nothing wrong here.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind, as with any budget board, there's not a lot in the way of bells and whistles with this board. That's not a terrible thing, considering its price and thus far, longevity.

1 out of 5 eggsFalse Advertising by ASRock

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Does NOT support overclocking a K-series cpu as the asrock website boasts. Bios and AXTU don't allow multipliers and BCLK to go above what the cpu is already rated to do.
No usb 3, no sata 6 gb/s, false advertising on asrock website claiming this board is overclockable in the bios and with their extreme tuning utility. Very, very deceitful and deceptive advertising.

Other Thoughts: I bought 3 of these to use in a render farm for 3d animation with the unlocked intel i7 - 3770k cpu. The specs for this board clearly show them to be compatible. I did my research and went to the manufacturers website where it Clearly shows in 2 different places, the ability to overclock this board; 1, in the bios' uefi utility, and 2. In windows' AXTU (Extreme Tuning Utility).

I built everything easily enough, but when going into the bios or their tuning utility, the cpu multipliers won't go past the base numbers. For the 3770k it's 39 for a single core and 37 for all cores. This is the default turbo-mode of the 3770k and asrock advertises this like you are overclocking. It already does this frequency by default, you don't need to go into bios to enable this!

So, essentially, I can turn the cpu multipliers down and UNDERclock, but not past what they are rated to do out of the box and OVERclock.

Know what you are buying before; an underclockable motherboard and nothing else. Very, very, very disappointed in asrock's advertising practice here.

I've been sending emails all week to asrock support asking how to possibly overclock this board. Not a single message has been returned. Terrible advertising, terrible service, stay away from asrock and their parent company Asus.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent board!

Pros: for a simple yet efficient and powerful system build on a budget this board is the way to go! supports celeron and i-series i3,i5,and i7 chip-sets 1155 socket.
supports DDR3 memory with two sockets for many memory stick brands and GB sizes.
UFEI bios is clean and smooth, very good UI interface with keyboard and mouse support. built in BIOS overclocking utility tools for effortless oc'ing and tuning system fans voltages etc.
Xfast LAN and enough USB slots on the board for many devices. SATA speeds are fairly good.
overall the price to value is more then fair for this board. no DOA no issues what-soever. currently running a HD 5770 intel i5 2310 with 2x2GB Gskill Ripjaws 1333 gaming series RAM. works flawless for days on end.

Cons: its a sub $50 board so sadly is only had to RAM slots and one PCI-E x16 slot. no eggs lost but its to be expected on cheaper boards.

Other Thoughts: the only thing that could make the price even BETTER, if it had 4 RAM slots and two PCI-E X16 slots. hopeless dreaming for a price this cheap, most likely.
overall for a sub $50 motherboard i have an amazing little gaming pc running strong since the day i built it. much recommend this asrock H61M-DGS!
also supports IGP for CPU's that have it so a graphics card wont be necessary if you have an i-series Intel with built in HD graphics. just don't plan on doing much gaming based of the hd-xxxx series IGP lol.

Pros: None

Cons: Mine came with a defective processor socket. I know what you are thinking ... and no... I didn't do it. It came this way. Of course I'm 3 days past the invoice date because I didn't build this system fast enough so I'm stuck holding the bag on this defective motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. ASRock mainboards are fully tested to assure that they're working before shipped.
The CPU socket on the mainboard has been covered with protection CAP to avoid damage the pins during the shipping and should not be removed unless intend to install a CPU.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems

Pros: I bought 4 of these motherboards. All worked extremely well, and have had no hiccups even after a year. All 4 meshed with the Intel G540 CPU just dandy. Highly Recommended.

Cons: Color scheme is a bit ugly, but it doesn't matter because its cheap and awesome.

Other Thoughts: None.
