3 out of 5 eggsIt's alright

Pros: It supports FX CPUs and it overclocks very well.

Cons: For some reason it randomly seems to go dark, as if it hibernates but nothing wakes it up. Not a big problem but this is making me anxious if the board is broken or something.

Other Thoughts: None really, I bought a motherboard before this one and it sparked and died the hour I used it so this one is a Godsend.

5 out of 5 eggsnice budget board

Pros: -good price
-mATX
-USB 3.0 and SATA III
-BIOS may not be an OC'ers dream but it is ok

Cons: a lot of little things that you should expect from a mATX budget board:

-doesn't come with anything besides the manual, driver cd, IO shield, and two SATA cables

-only one PCI slot
-limited USB ports
-only two RAM slots (8GB max though)
-PCI-E locking mechanism seems kinda of cheap

Other Thoughts: -if you are just looking for something that is adequate enough to support a modern system that isn't too OC intensive (if at all) but has the ability to be fitted with parts to make it fast enough to run any game or perform any task than this board makes sense.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Mobo, but no Power Saving Options.

Pros: This board has performed really well since I got it, setup was easy, it boots quickly and has just been a workhorse. It was a great buy for the money.

Cons: Now that i'm more concerned with my power bill then benchmark scores, i've been spending time trying to pull my power bill down. Unfortunately, delving into the BIOS gives zero options for sleep and hibernation modes. Only tools to boost performance. I'm really disappointed that i can't get his mobo to switch things off when they aren't in use to save some money on my power bill. We have 5 computers up and running in our home and saving as much power on each of them is really important.

Other Thoughts: The Motheboard is solid and a good price. I have to take an egg off for the lack of green power options. If you don't care about how much juice your computer uses, this is a good board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

Thank you for your purchase and review.
For the power saving (sleep, hibernate) related, these option can be done by Windows. Please refer to Windows Power Option under Control panel.

1 out of 5 eggsFirst time, Last time ASRock

Pros: * USB 3.0 Ports on back
* EIDE for legacy DVD/CD drives
* 2x SATA 3 ports

Cons: * No USB Keyboard control on boot. Fortunately I had an old PS/2 keyboard that I could use. Just to verify, I tested all USB ports front and back with multiple USB keyboards but all failed to be recognized by MB and the computer would boot straight through to boot device.

* No USB boot option on boot menu or BIOS
Huh? What!?! Really, No USB boot? If USB boot option is there they have conveniently hidden it. I work with hundreds of computers everyday, USB boot is a critical element because we use DART and other USB boot options. ASRock just simply fails on this critical feature.

I've not tried to update the BIOS yet, but this is something that should be available years ago on ANY motherboard. Simply unacceptable, ASRock is no longer an option on any of my future purchases.

* Issues with some DDR3 Ram. Failed to function properly with PC3-10600/1333. Computer seemingly functioned properly but would get onboard video distortion and also it would fail to boot Win7 DVD install disk.

Other Thoughts: The initial specs were appealing and the price appeared reasonable but I would have paid more for a dependable motherboard that I could do a USB Boot and also use a USB keyboard on boot to access bios. Why does ASRock fail on the most basic and simplest of requirements for today's motherboards?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Bootable USB drive can be boot from mainboard.
Please set the BIOS default (press F9 in BIOS).
Plug keyboard and mouse to USB 2.0 (grey).
Press F11 repeatedly to bring boot menu once system is started, select desire USB drive to bbot.

4 out of 5 eggsMotherboard AsRock 960gm/u3se fx

Pros: The motherboard so far is good but requires microsoft windows to operate the
bios Basically the bios do not work with Linux

Cons: The audio connector is dead simply does not work I have not used the board to its maximum so I do not know if all the sockets work
I used a sound card connected to a usb port to bypass the bad audio connector

3 out of 5 eggsDecent board, bad BIOS settings

Pros: Installation was easy,

Cons: Default Bios Settings - The default settings on this mobo make no sense at all. I had to manually set the CAS Latency, Voltage, and Timing of my RAM in the bios because it didn't detect the right settings. Also, by default the onboard ethernet controller is disabled so your wired LAN port doesn't work until you go and enable this. Two things I've never seen on a mobo before. Once you get these issues sorted out it seems to work perfectly fine. But unless you're familiar with tinkering in a BIOS they are two issues that would be really difficult to troubleshoot and solve.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
The BIOS default setting would not be disable the onboard LAN, since mainboard comes with built-in LAN.
Please enter BIOS, Press F9 to load default setting to verify.
For the RAM timing, we required default setting first, unless particular RAM has required to set manually (depends on RAM).

3 out of 5 eggsDecent for the price.

Pros: Decent for the price. Setup pretty quick. Layout was easy to deal with.

Cons: Took a while to actually get the master ssd running with sata3. The drivers kind of suck for windows 8.1.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

Thank you for your purchase and review. Unfortunately, Windows 8.1 is not in the mainboard support OS.
Please visit the link below for available OS drivers for mainboard
http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/960GMU3S3%20FX/?cat=Download&os=Win864
However, Windows 8.1 has built-in most drivers for mainboard.

3 out of 5 eggsPrice:Performance

Pros: Great mobo for the price. Decent feature set. One of the few mATX AM3+ boards available.

Cons: The over voltage performance that I'm getting on my FX-6300 isn't that great. The mobo doesn't like to boot up when I have the CPU overvoltaged, it will boot 50% of the time when I've got the CPU ~1.40 V and it's almost unusable when I have it at ~1.46V.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please download and update the latest BIOS at link below.
Set the BIOS default to check it the symptom still occurs.
