2 out of 5 eggsNice Layout

Pros: Nice board layout- planned to make this my server (re)build so the amount of total SATA was promising.

Cons: Board would not post, through 3 power supplies, 3 sets of ram in every config. Fans would spin and then NADA.

Other Thoughts: Really wanted this to work. Due to time limitation for my build, had to RMA and then go less selection, lower price ASRock H77 locally. Not the board I wanted, but it posted and is configuring as I write this. Same setup as before...
Always was asus for previous builds, but gave ASRock a second chance on another board type- primarily because it was the closest to the one I wanted to work.... but didn't.

5 out of 5 eggsjust fine

Pros: the board is nice and stable, i used this in one of my friends builds, the bios is easy to set up, and the board looks cool.
it has usb3.0, sata3, and dvi, hdmi, and vga outputs which is impressive as most boards only have two display options, 4 ram dimm's and support for SLI, i dont think anybody could ask for more.

Cons: i wish motherboard manufactures started putting the 8pin cpu connector on the bottoms of the boards, as most gaming towers have powersupplies mounted on the bottom. and this board is targeted at the gamer market. i hate having to run a wire right over the board, alot of cases don't have space behind the mobo-tray to fit a large wire like this.

5 out of 5 eggsJust right

Pros: Initial thoughts: Bought this with a combo setup with the Intel i5-3350P. I needed a nice onboard setup with HD audio and a good layout. Perfectly well for HTPC duties but this is meant for gaming without really needing OCing. Comes with Creative THX Audio.

Cons: Since this is a B75 Chipset, obviously why would a averagel consumer/gamer would want this other then some nice features for htpc features.

The US ASRock website for US Download Portal downloads were SLOW. Needed updateds for drivers and certain utilities.

Other Thoughts: First timer with an ASRock branded Mobo. Been mostly an Asus/Gigabyte fanboy for many years.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Upgrade!!!

Pros: I havent bought new hardware for 7 years now. WHOA Ive been missing out on a lot!. Got this board to upgrade my server and the 8 satas are great. with an expansion card i have 12 total. 18 TB is currently running on it perfect. Great Board!!!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I cant seem to set my G.Skill Ripjaws ram to 1600. It is set to 1333 by default. It might be a cpu issue. I have an Intel Celeron G1610. Will search around for a fix If there is any.

4 out of 5 eggsLittle black workhorse

Pros: Cheap, lots of SATA ports, DDR3-1600 support, legacy PCI & PS/2 support.

Cons: Only one PCIe x16, but that's the chipsets fault not this mobo.

Other Thoughts: Great little board for a office workstation or even an HTPC.

I'm using mine in a WHS2011 build and now don't need a secondary SATA controller card. Been running for 2 months without issues. Paired with a i5-3550s, Sandisk SSD-Extreme, 4-3TB WD Reds it draws <60w at idle. Max load that I've seen (when all drives spin up) is ~90W.

1 out of 5 eggsLast time I buy ASRock

Pros: It "worked" for 3 months? Bought this motherboard on 11/08/12, completely failed on 02/06/13.

Cons: Started acting up a month after I bought it. Would hang on boot sceen constantly, and I would have to manually reset it atleast once every time I powered on the machine.

Tonight I added a new harddrive, attempted to boot it up and received 4 beeps. Looked it up, apparently it means system timer failure. Unplugged the new hdd, took out the cmos battery for a minute and replaced. Motherboard booted up, but now I cant boot from usb, or cdrom. Now I have no way to install an operating system.

Other Thoughts: 2nd failed ASRock motherboard from Newegg, 3rd ASRock motherboard that has failed on me altogether.

Going back to ASUS.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems

Pros: Worked without issues with an Ivy i3 and 8GB dual-ch. (G.Skill) DDR3 1600 and Linux Mint 13 KDE. Solid motherboard - not flimsy. Lots of features for the price. Booted off USB easily. GUI BIOS is pretty easy to navigate if a bit gimmiky.

Cons: Can't knock it at this price: None.

Other Thoughts: I didn't have it hooked up to test the Toslink or HDMI. This system was hooked up to an old-school 17-in LCD (not widescreen) monitor via analog and to run-of-the-mill 2.1 speaker system. It replaced old Socket 478 stuff - retained the case, PSU, HDD, optical drive, etc. This mobo with i3 Ivy Bridge and DDR3 was a major, yet inexpensive (under $300) upgrade.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Nice combination of features at this price point. I'm fond of all the SATA ports and the HDMI integration using B75 chipset.

Cons: Wish it came with enough SATA cables for all the ports.

Other Thoughts: Works perfectly with my Intel G630T processor and 8BG of Kingston PC3 8500 running Windows Home Server 2011.
