2 out of 5 eggsSo So board

Pros: It works great when it doesn't freeze.

Cons: The pc will work for an undetermined amount of time before it freezes. Sometimes it will unfreeze but most of time it wont. It seems if I launch a game right after it boots and stay in the game the pc wont freeze. If I alt tab or close the game the pc will freeze. If I use my favorite browser it freezes within 5 minutes forcing me to reboot. First and last board from this manufacturer.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Amo,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please set the UEFI BIOS default.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor Customer Service

Pros: Cheap

Cons: I bought a board that was DOA. I contacted ASRock and had nothing but problems. Getting an RMA was a huge problem, I had to pay return shipping, communication was a problem. Overall I find ASRock to be unprofessional. The user manual is riddled with spelling and grammar errors. I should have stuck with EVGA.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
For the RMA, please refer to RMA policy at "http://www.ASRock.com/support/index.asp?cat=Policy".
As always, we appreciate your purchase. Honest and constructive reviews are welcome.

5 out of 5 eggsNice board

Pros: Worked well out of the box with in my sisters mid range gaming build. Decent feature set for the price, stable and easy to set up.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is my first ASRock product Ive purchased for a build. Thought the board was faulty at first but turned out to be a bad CPU. No regrets with this purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsFreezes...

Pros: When it is working it is fantastic, cheap and easy to install. BIOS is well organised and easy to navigate.

Cons: It doesn't seem to like working for extended periods of time. At first I thought my computer freezes were a memory or video problem but after returning some parts and running more and more diagnostics I came to the conclusion that it must be the motherboard. The system will just freeze randomly, independent of work load or temperature of the components. I cannot find a solution to the problem anywhere.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Neon,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please download and update the latest BIOS at link " http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Extreme3/?cat=Download&os=BIOS " .
Set the UEFI BIOS default.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: - Great slot locations and availability
- Funky BIOS menu
- Decent number of fan slots
- Everything just works

Cons: - Would of been nice to have more than 2x Sata 6 ports

Other Thoughts: Had an ASUS P8Z77-V motherboard before this one which failed me 2 times. Wish I would've bought this one first instead.

2 out of 5 eggsFirst and Last ASRock

Pros: Price. No problems while it worked...

Cons: It's just over a year now since I bought this motherboard and it just died today. I've had other systems with what I thought were cheaper motherboards longer than this one that are still kicking, and I paid less for those!

Other Thoughts: I just received my GTX 770 in the mail today! I was excited to install it until I noticed my PC was off when I got home. I didn't remember turning it off so I went to turn it on and nothing. It's been a couple of hours of troubleshooting hoping it was just hardware that needed reseating. After swapping hardware with other working PC's, I've narrowed it down to this motherboard. I guess it got jealous of my new video card and committed suicide. I never overclocked. I've been reading the unacceptable replies from ASRock usually blaming the buyer for these motherboards not working, that alone is very bad customer service. I was going to buy another one of these to avoid driver problems and all, but after reading their replies, I've decided to buy from a different website and ASUS instead.

I know how to troubleshoot and tried different working hardware and removing the motherboard and clearing the CMOS, but nothing seems to work. This board is dead and I won't be buying ASRock again, even If I have to pay a little more for other brands.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Stangalang,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved;
Unplug the ATX power.
Remove the mainboard from chassis, place the mainboard on mainboard’s box
Clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan
Plug the 24 pins + 8 pins ATX power
Plug the chassis power switch to mainboard
Turn the power on to check whether the CPU and PSU fans are spinning.
Populate the components one by one if its get the power.
If you have any technical issues or warranty questions please contact us at 909-590-8308 or http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

4 out of 5 eggsASrock Extreme3 Z77

Pros: Board worked out of the box with i5 3750k. No bent pins. I am very happy.

Cons: The included software is pretty disgusting. X Fast Lan is a box that is always displayed and when you click on it it will take you to some webpage. Norton trial is included with the default "install drivers" box from the included CD. Some program that pins a big red box named something like "Zulu" to the start menu is also part of the "drivers" and imbeds imbeds itself into IE. The audio software is called "THX studio settings" and it screws up any equalizer settings you have by only emphasizing the highs and the lows...if you like to listen to foot steps and always imagine you are in a wind tunnel it is useful, it isn't customizable...there is an "upgrade" option that might help. I closed the super fast usb optimizing software but i am sure it is useful too.

Other Thoughts: Very nice! It works! CPU detected! RAM detected(pc 1600 1.5v 9.9.9.24)!
TBH if it wasn't a generation old and on the cheap side i'm not sure i would have bought it from the egg with all their dissatisfied customers.

2 out of 5 eggsDead VGA

Pros: I wished i could say something positive at the moment but sadly with a dead VGA i cant really experience the wonders i read about this board. So everything else checks besides the visual issue.

Cons: Product came with a Dead VGA port. I was hoping to finish my very first build before buying a graphic card but sadly this motherboard came to me defected. :(

Other Thoughts: Hopefully its only the VGA port that is DoA. Gonna try a graphic card to bypass this issue. Due to having a hard time finding a VGA to either HDMI or DVI adapter/cable, i decided the graphic card option would be better. I would replace the product but im no longer valid for RMA returns and not sure how the warranty works on it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Test on DVI port to assure mainboard get the screen display to isolate the VGA port faulty.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: Had the space I needed.

Cons: Motherboard caused consistant system crashes. After an attempt to RMA, Newegg denied me due to a plastic clip being broken off. So now I am stuck with a defective motherboard. Not only is the product bad, but the customer service was even worse.

Other Thoughts: I expected Newegg to have my back when it came to a defective product. Instead they decided to hide behind technicalities. If the mobo had been damaged to the point where it affected its operation I could understand, but this was not the case. This is easily the last time I will shop with Newegg.

Manufacturer Response:
