5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great so far!!

Pros: Got this motherboard with an Amd A10 5800k and has been working great so far. I have no problems with at all. I was afraid it was going to be DOA because of other reviews but I guess I got lucky!

Cons: I have yet to find any cons. I do however wish I got a different motherboard because I want to oc but Im afraid it won't handle it,even though it says it can be overclocked. I most likely will get a better mobo in the future anyway

Other Thoughts: Specs:
CPU-AMD A10 5800k
Memory-8 gigs of 1866 Patriot Viper 3 series Venom Red
Hard Drive-WD Blue 1 TB 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache
Power Supply-Raidmax 500AF
Case- NZXT Gamma Classic

5 out of 5 eggsgreat product

Pros: Got this for my htpc (with AMD A10-5800K cpu).
I have with this system 2 disks - one win 7 64, another Fedora 17 64; run xbmc on both OS. So far it works ok. The only glitch was the install of Fedora 17 - it did not recognized drive because security feature in UEFI. After I changed UEFI setuo to AMD BIOS it worked fine.

Cons: none

3 out of 5 eggsGood mobo for a HTPC Build

Pros: The board is pretty feature rich for a very low price. I do like the UEFI bios for ease of use and updating is EASY. I am running it with an A6-5400k and it does the job.

One feature that is not touted very much is the CIR feature built into this board. This is a special pin header that works with an IR receiver for controlling the computer with a remote control. CIR is special in that it can be used to power up the PC from OFF(S5 state). This is awesome when paired with an SSD for near instant boot up.

Cons: The Mobo does not report the correct temperature for the CPU. No matter where I look, bios or various programs in windows, the CPU temperature is always reported as ~22C and it does not change with CPU load. I thought this was very odd since this is pretty much ambient air temperature. I ended up downloading HardwareMonitor and this program was the ONLY program i can find which reports the actual core temperature of ~40C. Ok, so what the big deal? Well, when the bios is reporting the wrong CPU temperature and is also using that temperature to control the fan speed, you get no automatic fan speed adjustments when the CPU gets hot. I have to manually adjust the fan to keep things cool. This is extremely annoying when you are trying to sit on your couch to watch a movie and have to get up to adjust the fans.

The odd thing Hardware Monitor also sees the 22C temperature that the Bios reports. It appears that they are directing the CPU temperature readings to the wrong sensor.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
For the issue, please turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Set the UEFI BIOS default, save and exit.
Enter the BIOS to check if the temperature has reported correctly.

5 out of 5 eggssweet

Pros: cost. plenty of pwn fan hook ups. layout nice. sata connects point up, bios screen just rocks.
fastest boot loader I've ever used. instant on from sleep. 11 sec cold boot to windows open.

Cons: if using a vid card, (i'm not...apu), may/will cover batt.

Other Thoughts: has pin out of all the headers on the board except the eight pin cpu12v. using normal 4 pin for now, but have 2 diff 8 pins on my psu, one has 3 12v and 5 grounds, one has 4/4. if had pin out would not havta worry about using wrong one.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great board from for the price but not without its flaws.

Cons: Board had a little had time fitting in my Mid-Tower, The combination of which made it hard for my GPU to fit in properly. Kind of minor as it may be the case, but the big thing is that the VGA output on the board died after only about a month. Not a major issue for me as I never use it anymore but still kind of a big concern.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Sorry to hear the VGA output on the mainboard has malfunction.
Please test with another known good VGA cable to eliminate the issue.

5 out of 5 eggsHARD AS- A -ROCK!

Pros: easy to overclock all settings with press of a button or from within OS enviorment. runs very cool even at hot room temperatures. did not arive DOA, haves Xfire support and handles a A-10 5800K like a boss with 3 different monitors! although you gotta change your Ram settings otherwise it will run it at a measly 1333 out of a possible 2600!

Cons: none, Rock solid mobo for a nice $400 build! run it with a 450w XFX psu total boss!

Other Thoughts: buy one or two!
