5 out of 5 eggsReliable, lots of connectivity perfect 5/7 board

Pros: I wrote an earlier review a while ago. I have since upgraded from an ivy celeron to a Intel Core i3-2100, with all SATA ports populated. It runs Windows Server 2012R2, and runs 24/7/365, for about 2 years and 4 months right now. So far, it's rock solid stable. It serves as the base for my NAS/Network Shares using FlexRAID with 7 hard drives and a boot SSD. I'm using an Intel PCIe 1x NIC instead of the meh onboard Realtek solution. The amount of expandability this board had for the price, and stability, is amazing. Too bad it's not sold anymore, or I'd recommend buying one.

Cons: Only 2 RAM slots but really, that doesn't matter much unless you need more than 16GB of RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product thanks to Donald E.

Pros: Great layout and easy to assemble

Cons: No Raid for those looking for SSD Raid

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this product. Thanks to Donald E. in his review he mentioned that bent pins on the motherboard causes some of the ram slots to fail. I was ready to send this board back when I saw his review. Looked at the socket and sure enough two of the pins were bent. Straightened them out and bingo, ram slots work. Very Pleased! Ü

4 out of 5 eggsIgnore ram slot people

Pros: Motherboard has solid b75 for business use no overclocking. Bent pins on your CPU socket will make your ram slot not work. The memory controller is in the CPU, bend a pin ever so slightly and you kill it (I've done one myself and spent about 20 hours fixing all the pins)

Cons: Needs more usb 2.0 on the back

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I like the layout and inclusion of an HDMI port.

Cons: No issues with this board. I've bought over 10 and havent had a problem yet.

Other Thoughts: Will continue to buy these boards for the low-mid range office desktop machines I've been building.

1 out of 5 eggsAwful Warranty Policy

Pros: The board worked fine, besides one of the two RAM slots not working, which I found out a few months after purchase.

Cons: The major reason that this is receiving a one star review is the fact that I was sent a defective board ( the only problem being one of the RAM slots not working, everything else worked perfectly) and of course, sent it back to have it repaired or replaced as the warranty stated. Naturally, they contact me back to tell me that the CPU slot has bent pins and that it is not covered under warranty. I tell them that the CPU works fine (it did) and that the reason for sending it in was the dead RAM slot. "Nope, doesn't matter, we can replace it for $50 plus 'service fees' or send it back to you. ( The board itself was around $50-$60). Great...

Other Thoughts: Long story short, you have lost a customer ASRock and I hope more people see this and take pause before placing a purchase for one of your boards. I really can't believe that a company could use such shady tactics to get out of replacing a $60 board, but I guess whatever it takes to make a buck. Just know, that I will never buy another ASRock motherboard because of this.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. ASRock mainboards are fully tested to assure the quality.
The CPU socket has been covered with protection CAP to avoid damage the pins.
CPU socket pins on the mainboard are fragile and need to be handling with careful to avoid physical damage and affect the limited warranty.
In addition, bent pins could cause malfunction to MEMORY SLOTS due to memory controller in the CPU is not fully contact with the pins.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little mobo, well worth the price

Pros: Excellent price/feature ratio.
All 3 output options: analog VGA, DVI-D, HDMI.
2x old school PCI slots on a Micro ATX!
On board and front panel USB 3.0.

Cons: I'm not a huge fan of the stock LGA 1155 cooler fasteners but that's not the fault of this board.
Factory applied a sticker suggesting that all boot HDDs be attached to the SATA 2 ports, not SATA 3. No other explanation in manual.

Other Thoughts: Used this board along with a Celeron G1610 and 4G G.SKILL RAM stick for a low power home server rebuild. I'm also using this as a MythTV back end and needed 2x PCI slots for my older ATSC tuner and PVR-500 cards. I purposely stayed cheap and low heat but would not hesitate to install a LGA 1155 Core processor in this board if I wanted a higher performance system.

3 out of 5 eggsthe Beatles said it - No Reply

Pros: Have used AsRock boards for several years now and we are very happy with them over-all.
Good feature set.
Reasonable priced.
Decent B.I.O.S. settings
Very few problems for the amount of boards we go thru.

Cons: Will get an occasional board that will not P.O.S.T.
If we don't put the board in service within 30 days, we cannot return it to Newegg and must deal with manufacturer RMA procedure, even though it was D.O.A. out of the box.
We attempted this today, and after replying to the AsRock customer support email requesting a copy of our invoice, we got this:
"domain has no valid mail exchangers"

Other Thoughts: Don't let this put you off from purchasing AsRock motherboards.
They make a good product.
For the sheer volume we do, an occasional glitch can be expected.
We have used a lot of them and we would not hesitate to recommend it.
The important thing to remember is how well you are treated when a problem arises.
This remains to be seen.
