5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Mobo

Pros: Comes with 2 PCIe 3.0x slots, come with xFast USB utility, has PCI slots & usb 3.0. Raid support. Can easily customize bios.

Cons: Video memory in igpu on their site says 1792mb but I've only seen it go up to 1gb. No ide input.

Other Thoughts: I've only had this mobo for a week and I'm easily impressed. The low cost plus the option for 2 pci3 3.0 cards is a handy feature for those who think about upgrading video cards.

I had got this for an upgrade on my 10+ year old pc; obviously this is faster, but it's other features like xFast USB which is a life saver. Without that handy tool it would have taken me weeks to transfer all my files.

This may not have all the features I wanted, however I am very satisfied with all the features and stats.

1 out of 5 eggsWould not recommend in any circumstance.

Pros: When it turns on it works alright.

Cons: The first motherboard I received would turn on when not in the case, but would not work whatsoever inside the case. Eventually it would not turn on at all. After troubleshooting for several hours I gave up and RMA'd it. My Gigabyte AM3+ mobo was then installed and worked flawlessly.

The second motherboard which I'm currently using at least works most of the time. However, if I move the case for a LAN or even so much as to clean up behind it, it will not boot up. To get it working, I have to take everything out of the motherboard, take the motherboard off of the stand outs (most of which I've removed to test shorting to no avail). Once its out of the case, I re-install it and everything else that has to come out and hope that it boots up.

Other issues: The first PCI Express x16 slot didn't work so I moved the 770 to the second. This might be simply due to human error. By now I was too frustrated with the thing to continue working on it.

Sometimes when I plug in a USB device the computer completely powers down.

I would have RMA'd it by now but to do so I'd be required to take the motherboard out and ship it before they bother sending me a new one. This would leave my primary desktop down until it shows up. I would not recommend this motherboard to anybody as it's absolutely worth forking out the extra 30 or so dollars for a more reliable board with better features.

Other Thoughts: Specs:
i7 4770k
Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB
GSKILL Ripjaw 8GB (2x4GB) @ 1866
Corsair 600D

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Nick B,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard.
Unplug the ATX power, remove all components from mainboard.
Remove the mainboard from chassis, place it on mainboard’s box
Clear the CMOS.
Check the mainboard’s CPU socket contact pins are normal (should be pointing same way and pattern)
Reseat the CPU with heatsink fan if socket pins are normal
Reseat video card firmly on PCIE2 slot and PCIE 6+6 power (if applied)
Plug the 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power
Plug the chassis power switch to mainboard, and replicate the issues.

4 out of 5 eggsBudget Value

Pros: Plays nicely with Ubuntu Linux and Linux Mint.
The price point is good.
BIOS patches can be done from a USB stick even with no OS installed. WIN!
ASRock does a good job of providing RAM compatibility lists on their site.

Cons: Only two SATA cables included and some of the docs are, uh, murky.

Other Thoughts: My 5-4670 seems to like it just fine. For a budget board this is great.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh benching board for the price

Pros: I've did a lot of research before building my next computer... I usually dish out 400$ for an evga board... This Board Is Just As Fast And Is UP There With them... Cant Even Notice A Difference. Also stays very cool.

Cons: Cheap looking, had trouble with memory at first start up, flipped ram around and worked.. figured I was going to have to rma It But I lucked out.

Other Thoughts: Your plain over clocking board without the extra stuff

1 out of 5 eggsDoA Board, doesn't post

Pros: Looks cool, fits everything I needed

Cons: DoA board. 3 beeps every time I tried to boot (which takes 3 tries EVERY time, no exceptions), no video output, nothing. Board simply doesn't work. I have tried every possible solution to no avail.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
3 beeps indicates no memory detected.
Please turn the power off, clear the CMOS.
Reseat single memory module firmly (non-ECC, un-buffered memory).
Test with another known good memory.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board Great Price

Pros: I upgraded from my ASRock Z68 Extreme3 and a 2500k to this with a 4670k. The boards are nearly one to one. The bios seems updated, there's more USB 3 support, and no eSata. In the end, this is a great board if you don't need any fancy bells n whistles. Overclocks my 4670k to 4.2 Ghz without any special finagling.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid motherboard

Pros: I've had this motherboard for a few months now and absolutely love it! Its spacious, easy to install, and has run great with everything I plug into it! Using the USB 3.0 ports on the back I was able to install an iso of WIndows 7 in all of about 4 minutes! Everything runs great and there hasn't been one issue. It is a great Motherboard for the price.

Cons: None so far.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: None, didn't even get to use it.

Cons: DOA, pins bent.

Other Thoughts: Finally got all my PC parts together put everything together and it's just not working. Went through all of the troubleshooting options and the power supply is fine. I found that some of the pins were bent but i'm pretty sure that doesn't stop it from turning on...

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
The CPU socket has been covered with protection CAP to avoid damage the pins.
