1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy

Pros: The board quality seems nice and the layout is fine. There are plenty of Sata ports and Bios is easy to use and easy to Flash.

Cons: Do not Buy this Board. I really think the other 4 reviews are internal ASRock people. I always try and stay away from limited reviews that are all 5 stars and I think on this one I got burned. The board is a nightmare to set up in Windows Server 2008. Something will work and then will not work on the next change or install. The driver support for Windows Server 2008 R2 is terrible. Good luck finding and installing the Raid Drivers. The Help Support does not exist, it is simply a form that you send off to hopefully one day get a call back. Stick with Supermicro if you are going to do a Server build and leave this BAD Board alone and save yourself hours of your life.

Other Thoughts: ASROCK
Intel 3.1 Xeon
4 6TB SATA in Raid 10
2 500 GB RAID 1

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MB

Pros: I bought two of these for work servers and liked them so much I bought one for my home server. This board is a stable work horse with enough onboard hardware and ports to satisfy even our 24-bay (16x WD Red Pro 3TB drives and 8x Kingston 480GB ssds) work server without bogging down. 4x 1GB teamed Intel NICs provide 380MBps sustained network throughput from the SSDs and even allow our two CAD designers work off the server instead of local copies without noticing when we were still getting their workstations setup.

Cons: Pretty bland BIOS but then this is a workstation / server board so this is to be expected.

Other Thoughts: The three systems are:
Intel Xeon e3-1245v3, 32GB Kingston ECC non-registered 1333 MHz ram, Adaptec 8805 with MaxCache + SAS expander to 24-bay (16x WD Red Pro 3TB drives and 8x Kingston 480GB ssds), SeaSonic X1050 power, quad Intel GB NIC

Intel Xeon e3-1245v3, 32GB Kingston ECC non-registered 1333 MHz ram, Adaptec 8805 with MaxCache to 8x WD Red Pro 4TB drives as offsite back of critical data, SeaSonic X650, quad Intel GB NIC

Intel Xeon e3-1241v3, 16GB Kingston ECC non-registered 1600 MHz ram, Adaptec 7805 with MaxCache to 4x Seagate 2TB / 4 WD Red 3TB, intel 530 240gb ssd os drive, asus radeon 290-4gb DCII-OC video, all in a Fractal Define R4, SeaSonic X1050 Power

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: Good Motherboard. I have been using it 24x7 in a home server/hyper-v host for 6+ months without a single hitch.

It's paired with a Low-power Core i5 and 16 GB of RAM and 6 hard disks running off of an HP P410 RAID card

Cons: None - does exactly what I want it to - which is perform 24x7 for all of my home server / Virtualization lab needs. Also very wallet friendly for a Server Mobo and it works with an HP P410 RAID card -which is known to be very finicky on non-HP hardware.

Other Thoughts: I with the color scheme was a little bit less vanilla and the BIOS had more options for tweaking stuff- but then again you aren't paying for fancy stuff with a board like this as it's meant for a server.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's good

Pros: Stable. No drama at all. Great connectivity - it's got that PLX chip effectively doubling number of PCI-e ports: 8-8-8-8 is possible.

Cons: It's boring green...

Other Thoughts: Stuffed it with 32Gig KVR16E11K4/32 unbuffered ecc. Timings were picked up correctly. Haswell refresh CPU worked well - enough to update BIOS to 2.20
