1 out of 5 eggsHad it <30 days and it dies.

Pros: Looks nice. I didn't have any issues with layout or anything like that.

Cons: In my testing to verify that it was the motherboard having issues, I realized that my SATA connections never worked at full speed. Boot time on this computer was ~60 seconds with my SSD, but 20 seconds with the same SSD in my other computer. My SATA connections have completely died at this point, so I'm contacting ASRock to try and get it replaced (just outside Newegg's 30 day return window).

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please clear the CMOS.
Set the UEFI BIOS default.
Connect the main SSD drive (Windows) to SATA3_0.
Install fresh Windows and mainboard drivers to check if its faster boot time.
If you have any technical issues please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

Thank you

2 out of 5 eggsCame Doa :|

Pros: The layout of the board certainly wasn't terrible. It's nice looking, and it was slightly smaller then my old AS rock board which fit nicer in my HAF92 case. Can't really comment on it much else seeing as how it came DOA :|. It was packaged well, looked nice and had a solid layout.

Cons: As stated; it came DOA. It happens I get it, my biggest worry here is My last MoBo before this was ASROCK as well, and that one had a sound issue with it's back ports from the start, and I was forced to always use my front headers for speakers and mic jacks. I didn't care that much because it was an easy workaround, but this is now 2/2 boards that had problems out of box with ASrock :(

Manufacturer Response:

Dear JuiceMw,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved;
Unplug the ATX power.
Remove the mainboard from chassis, place it on mainboard’s box
Clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan as well
Test with single memory module
Test with onboard VGA
Reconnect 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power
Connect chassis power switch to mainboard, and try again
If you have any technical issues or warranty questions please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We will assist you shortly.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard For The Price

Pros: Good looks
Very useful UEFI BIOS with many cool features
Can overclock well
Enough ports and connectivity
Decent layout
UEFI can automatically update itself when connected to Ethernet without USB or booting to windows

Cons: Not as wide as a typical ATX motherboard, very close to touching standoffs on far right but don't quite get there
Fan connections.... Not sure what ASRock did here, but he's what I encountered: Plug in a 3 pin fan into a 4 pin header, and the fan runs at 100% no matter what. I was using 3 pin corsair sp120 fans and had to plug them into only the 3 pin headers to slow them down. But that's not the weird part. There are 4-3 pin headers on the board, but only 2 of them actually have controllable speeds. the cpu 3 pin header and chassis header #3 both have full control over, but chassis header 2 has some weird options such as speed level 1-4, instead of actual fan percentages. and then, the fourth fan header has no control at all, it's called the power fan. Not quite sure why this ASRock motherboard did this as other motherboards by this manufacture have never given me issues with any 3/4 pin headers.

5 out of 5 eggsASRock B85 Killer

Pros: Great looking board overall.
Able to overclock k series processors via non-z oc.
One of the best B85 boards you can buy.
Good layout and labeling made for an easy build.
Installation was painless and free of errors.

Cons: Maximum RAM speed of 1600 (chipset limitation)
No SLi limits future upgrade paths.
Fatal1ty branding seems to irritate some people.

Other Thoughts: You have to keep in mind what this board is when you're considering purchasing or rating this product. It's a B85 chipset so bare in mind those limitations. However, if you're looking to build your first rig or a decent mid-range gaming rig than it's hard to argue with this board. I'm running my i5 4670k at 4.2GHz without any issues at all so don't think that the non-z overclocking has been disabled. I'm glad I purchased this board and will continue to consider ASRock products for my future builds.

1 out of 5 eggsAsrock B85 Killer

Pros: Very nice features and looks.. Good price point. Other than that nothing at all.

Cons: Worked long enough to install an os and do some updates. Now it's dead =\ .. Will shy away from Asrock here on out.

Other Thoughts: Kind of downhearted that Asrock let me down here.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsASRock B85 Killer Motherboard

Pros: Wow!! For the price, this board is amazing! I couldn't believe all the features for a $100. Is has connections for a total of 6 fans. A really cool yet simple GUI for the BIOS. And a really bada** color scheme. The included disc with the drivers has some really neat utilities including software that allows you to view fan speed and temperatures inside of windows. For the price (and a B85 Chipset), this is an awesome motherboard for either a budget computer, or for somebody that just doesn't need anything too crazy but still wants some bells and whistles to go along with their build.

Cons: 2nd PCI-E port is not an x16, it is an x4. SLI is not supported although AMD-Crossfire is.

Chipset only supports 4 USB 3.0

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy!

Pros: Nice BIOS, simple and lots of options
Good looking MB, quality pieces
Sound quality is much better than most onboard soundcard, really can hear a difference (I'm actually surprised!)
Price
Quality

Cons: Older chipset but... about 0.5% of performance lost so don't really care.

Other Thoughts: Recommanded, I don't see why 90% of users would pay more than this, don't need more options and performance for the price is really good.
