4 out of 5 eggsGood MOBO for cheap

Pros: This thing is awesome, especially for how cheap it was. I have more USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports than I could ever know what to do with. Very easy to install most of the parts.

The BIOS is awesome, because it has mouse support. It also comes with interactive software so you can actually look at the MOBO from your computer to see where certain things are plugged in, and what slots you have free.

Cons: The PCI and PCI-e slots are so close to one another that I had to move my GPU down to one of the other PCI slots in order to free up my PCI-e slots.

Other Thoughts: A lot of the USB ports (potentially all of them) are "always on." So if you have something that has an LED "power" indicator it will always be on if the computer is plugged in. Bothered me at first, I now just flip my power-strip off when I'm not using it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Glad I decided to give this MOBO a try. It is solidly built and well laid out. I have run it for almost a year now and it has been rock solid. ASRock utilities are pretty user friendly and the auto overclock has kept my A10-7850K at a steady 4.3 oc since the initial build.

Cons: Only one PCIE-3 slot, only came with two SATA cables

Other Thoughts: A10-7850K APU

4 out of 5 eggsIts ok

Pros: Its Great when everything works.

Cons: Issues with first PCIE slot vid card would not work.
Some issues with the sata ports would not see my hard drive had to plug it into several slots before I found one that would work. And now after about a month I am having issues with the Killer NIC. Sometimes it lets me connect but with slow speeds and others i loose connection all together.

Other Thoughts: Overall I would say this a good bored as long as you get one that work. It is entirely possible that the one I got was just a in a bad batch.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Tons of connections: 8 SATA3, 6 USB 3.0, 10 USB 2.0. The audio header is out of the way of the video card slots. I am using this to replace a faulty MSI board and the adapter that MSI includes for making motherboard header connections easier (HD LED, PW LED, etc...) worked perfectly with this board as well (all the pins were in the same orientation). Also, I love the night time LED mode ASRock provides that turns off the power LED after the system has booted, less light pollution is a good thing.

Cons: I really hate the connector used for the internal USB 3.0 connection, but that's not ASRock's fault, that's the USB organization's fault. They need to come up with something that locks in place.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an MSI FM2-A85XA-G65. The MSI board was only seeing half of the memory installed, tried re-seating the CPU twice and tried all the different memory slots, just a defective board. Installed the same components in this board and have zero issues. Everything worked from the first boot. Using this for a home file server: AMD A4-5300, 2 G.Skill 4GB DDR3 1600 memory, PCIe 4x 8-SATA controller card, 8 hard drives, 1 SSD, 1 Blu-Ray, 1 DVD, running Ubuntu 14.04.

4 out of 5 eggs2nd Board was the Charm

Pros: Looks Awsome
Seems to be well constructed
Everything seems to work o.k. after about 1 month now

Cons: 1st Board the DVI port was DOA

Other Thoughts: Had to RMA back to Newegg because the DVI port was dead, and of course I'm using a DVI cable from my current monitor.
I discovered this when I finally went out and bought a VGA cable and that worked. I also tried a HDMI cable and that worked.
DVI did not work. So, it took about 5 business days to get it back to Newegg in California. Newegg processed it immediately and ship a replacement back overnight, WOW didn't expect that. Thanks Newegg you get 5 stars for RMA. Hooked everything up to the new board, fired it up, and it worked with DVI.
As Joel L. said, I also received both boxes that seemed to be suspiciously opened when I got it. However everything looked new and in was in new condition, but the box was not shrink wrapped or sealed in anyway.

5 out of 5 eggshelpful tip for troy

Pros: troy toss those ramsticks in the A2 B2 slots the A1 B1 slots are for 1333 and under
4. If you adopt DDR3 2600/2400/2133/1866/1600 memory modules on this
motherboard, it is recommended to install them on DDR3_A2 and DDR3_B2 slots. :) i didn't understand ether

Cons: none but they chould empasis more on the fact that ram higher then 1333 won;t post well on A1_DDR3 or B1_DRR3 slots.

4 out of 5 eggsGood board overall

Pros: Looks awesome
thick
its fm2 and fm2+
stock boost clocks built in, runs my A-10 6800k at 4.8ghz no issues

Cons: Ram clocks, this parts dumb, i have 16 gigs of gskill 2400. i have to underclock to 2133 for the mobo to work properly and for windows to install and work as well. if i go to 2400, board throws errors and windows blue screens. i know its not a board or memory issue because my room mate got the same series but for am3+ and his is the same way. he has to underclock his ram from 2133 to 1866 or he has the same issue.

also, i dont know why they did this, but the 4-pin connector to give the express slots more power for sli/ crossfire, is mounted at the bottom of the board, facing downward. this was an issue for me because it flushed up against my psu, leaving ZERO space to plug up. i had to break the little silver bar holding it in place so i could bend it to angle up so i could hook into it. not that big of a deal, just a hassle seeing how i didnt realize it until after i had the board in.

Other Thoughts: overall this is a really nice motherboard, other than the 4-pin and memory issues, it runs beautifully. temps stay low, including north bridge, built in clocks are nice, everything has good spacing. Also, it is able to run nividia along side amd, but they WILL NOT work together. For example, you can install both cards, and drivers, and use them for multiple displays, but it will only run stressful applications on the main card (first slot). I did this with the msi r9 270x and GTX650TI Boost Superclocked.

1 out of 5 eggsFatality is right...

Pros: Great paperweight, looks nice

Cons: Didn't work, box looked previously opened. ATX power falls out of it.

Other Thoughts: Wasted 5 hours putting my new build together only to have the CPU fan spin and nothing boot. I figured it was the 500W power so I buy an 850W only to have a brief moment where it seemed to boot and then it died and the power cord constantly falls out of the board and clearly has a junk connection. I think someone had this board and returned it already and newegg is trying to pass it off...the box was suspiciously opened when I got it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please check the ATX power has fully plugged and locked with the connector.
Trouble shoot the mainboard whether the issue is resolved.
Clear the CMOS.
Reseat the CPU and heatsink fan
Test with single memory module
Test with onboard VGA (CPU with APU or test with VGA card)
Plug the 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power firmly.
Plug the chassis power switch to mainboard, and try again
