4 out of 5 eggsASRock Fatal1ty FM2A88X+ Killer FM2+ (Great board)

Pros: It looks amazing, has nice audio solution, and overclocks relatively well (I am probably pushing it a bit much with my A10 7850K at 4.7 Ghz, but has been working for over a year now so not too worried), supports 2 displays with onboard graphics, and can run 2600+ Mhz ram in it (Have not tested but 2133Mhz RAM works just fine <2133Mhz Ripjaws 2x 4GB sticks and 1x 8GB stick for a total of 16GB of memory>

Cons: The BIOS is too simple and lacks tweaking options, (Great for new users really simple and easy to follow <not for pros> ), USB ports face up and not to the side making cable management look a little less clean, and USB 3.0 front header port will be blocked if running long GPU (PCS+ R9 390) in top slot, no display port or HDMI 2.0, and has Killer Lan which is not the most stable (I prefer Intel's lan solution much more, but it does have some pretty cool features that Intel does not have), and should have a better power phase solution for us overclockers in the world.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this motherboard for buyers, is a great board for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good Mother board

Pros: Extremely well built well laid out even after being moved jostled and somewhat kicked

Cons: Very few like sata ports could be facing up and fan ports are hard to reach with a big case

Other Thoughts: Very nice but i haven't tried an intel version

1 out of 5 eggsLasted 12 days....

Pros: Good price for what is a great MB for gaming rigs. Has every feature I wanted. Was great for my games while it was running...

Cons: MB went up in smoke (literally) 12 days after install. The heat sink before the CPU was so hot it burned my finger. Seems one of the power rectifiers under it blew up and cooked some traces o the underside of the board.

Other Thoughts: Sent in to newegg for replacement, hopefully it was just a bad unit and not representative of asrock's products as a whole

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Steven,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please check if the heatsink is fully contact the CPU with thermal compound applied.
Due to power design, AMD platform generates more heat.
Allow better air circulation inside the chassis.
Please update the replacement mainboard's working fine.

2 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for.

Pros: Was good while it lasted.

Cons: I have had this motherboard for exactly 1 year yesterday. For the last few months I have been having artifacting, and just recently It has been causing crashes.

Other Thoughts: Good while it lasted. Which wasn't very long...

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: it worked, for a month during that time I loved it I used to be a asrock fanboy. it was a pleasant board to see and laid out cleanly

Cons: it died and the entire time I was working on it diagnosing this issue, i felt like I did something wrong, but I know that's not the case. having a board fail made me feel like how I would assume a parent feels when they hear their kid needs to go to the doctor, I'm praying that all the parts aren't damaged, I just built it and now it's dead, it was here one minute and gone the next.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

1 out of 5 eggsHuge Pain!

Pros: Looks nice.

Cons: I cant get it to install windows. Windows will not recognize the hard drives to install the os. Windows 7 installs says its missing drivers. Tried to support cd and drivers off the site without any luck. I have tried RAID IDE and AHCI I even tried to update the BIOS without any change. I even contacted support at ASROCK over 3 days ago. Sending it back getting something else.

5 out of 5 eggsNice MB

Pros: Worked with 860k out of the box. I was able to overclock my CPU up to 4.2ghz with no problems.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I thought about going with the a88x pro, but I wanted to try out an asrock board. Happy so far.

5 out of 5 eggsGood MoBo so far

Pros: Board is pretty solid.
Nice color red.
Works right out of the box.
Runs Win7 without headache.
Mouse in USB mouse port works great.
Using Fatal1ty LAN software, was not needed for me, but some people use torrent programs may work for them.
Onboard Sound is AWESOME.
I got this because of PCIe 3.0.(I dont have PCIE 3.0 videocard yet), using APU's GPU. runs good on arma 3 at med/low graiphic settings and most today's games.

Cons: Not really con, have heating issue using stock cooler came with AMD APU 7850k causes it to shutdown if unattended and the chipset gets fairly hot as well. Planning to put better heatsink and fan for that APU.

Other Thoughts: My system spec:
AMD A10-7850K
ASrock Fatal1ty FM2A88X+ Killer
Seasonic 650W 80 plus gold
WD VelociRaptor 250 10k RPM Sata III
WD Blue 500GB HDD II
G.Skill Ripjaws X series 16GB(2 x 8GB) DDR3 2400 model F3-2400C11D-16GXM
Cooler Master HAF 922
I have tested to OC to 4.2GHz for short time, but need to keep CPU last longer.
Planning to get Geforce GTX 980.

3 out of 5 eggsDoes what it's supposed to.

Pros: It works alright, I've had no problems with it so far. A few crashes here and there but I doubt it's my motherboard, audio is slightly better but noticeably much quieter than my old and cheap Dell front audio. Other than that there isn't much else to say about this motherboard.

Cons: 2 x SATA cables may not be enough for most people, I had to go to buy a third separately. Features severely lacking behind competitors, BIOS seems very old and outdated and overclocking wasn't as good as it could be. Many better color scheme's out there for the price with much more functionality. While ASUS boards might not look as good, I have no doubt they have much better ease of use.

Other Thoughts: While this board might be good for 3 years ago, it's lagging behind today. ASRock needs to improve their quality or looks to compete with other's in today's market. I'd suggest getting rid of the white mixed with the red and abandon that mustard yellow they use on their overclocking boards. Overall it's a good board but there are many better options out there.
