From now on just connect the monitor to your motherboard, and connect your secondary device (such as a PS3 or Xbox) to the motherboard’s HDMI-In port. With HDMI-In, users may conveniently toggle between the computer’s screen and the secondary device’s screen with a hotkey, or even use their secondary device without powering on the computer.
  • newegg High-Density Glass-Fabric PCB What you’ve never understood about your computer is that it is scared to death of water – H2O, humidity, or whatever you’d like to call it. And even though you do not see the water, there may actually be lots of excessive moisture in the air killing your motherboard silently and slowly. No, your motherboard doesn’t melt when in contact with water like the Wicked Witch of the West, but it dies from short-circuiting. Luckily, ASRock has a new High-Density Glass-Fabric PCB design that reduces the gaps between the PCB layers to protect the motherboard against electrical shorts caused by humidity.

With the smart X-Boost, overclocking the CPU becomes a nearly one-button process!

3 out of 5 eggsSolid build, subpar instruction

Pros: This is a solid mini-ITX FM2+ MB, and it is as simple as that. Everything is labeled well. It's support up to DDR3 2400 is a great advantage to take.

Cons: I find the manual is lacking depth. For experienced users, this isn't such a big deal, but for novice builders, this could be a problem. Company website has detailed list of compatibility and they are easy to find, but it would have been nice if they'd included a hard copy.

Other Thoughts: For a small form factor MD, this is solid. But if you are a beginner, do consider other brands with better support, or at least many available online tutorials. And do take advantage of rebate.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good Features

Cons: Onboard display does not work. BIOS and OS do not recognize the onboard display ports (VGA, HDMI and DVI). I updated the BIOS to the latest drivers, but the only graphic output recognized is the dedicated video card.

Other Thoughts: Returning due to non-functioning onboard graphics ports.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please check if using CPU is not Athlon series which does not come with APU (integrated VGA).
If using A series CPU that does not required discrete VGA card due to A series CPU built-in APU (integrated VGA).
For more information, please visit AMD website.

Pros: Lots of features.

Cons: I'm sure this would be a great motherboard but I also decided to try and install an x4 860K Athlon on it. It's needs a BIOS update to use that chip and i'm not going to buy a second CPU just to do that.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Due to the mainboard had been released before Athlon x4 860K processor, the BIOS update is needed to recognizing the new processor.
However, the Athlon series CPU required discrete VGA card due to its does not built-in APU.

For the updated BIOS chip, please contact us at 909-590-8308 or http://www.ASRock.com/Support/tsd.asp
We will assist you shortly.

4 out of 5 eggsGood cheap board with a few issues

Pros: Cheapest board out for ITX FM2 support (with $30 rebate)
Lots of features
Stable so far
ASROCK support was fast and efficient, I spoke to someone directly, was given a direct email contact, and was able to resolve the bios issue in 3 days.

Cons: Driver install is kind of a nightmare. AMD uses an all-in-one installer using catalyst control center, which installs most things, but theres issues trying to install specific drivers. If you need to manually add a driver, good luck crawling through the folders provided to find what you need. I'm using this on an 08R2 install and the drivers have been glitch at best. I've been unable to get the USB3 to work, but this isnt a problem for me since I'm using it as a remote server. This might not be a problem if you're using a desktop OS.

Other Thoughts: If you do order this board, MAKE SURE TO CONTACT ASROCK AND GET THE BIOS UPDATE MAILED TO YOU. I was lucky enough to see the other reviews on here beforehand and this made any issues that other people were having with the board a minimal issue for me.

Since I'm using an Athlon X4, the video setup is a little weird, since the motherboard expects an APU, but it hasen't been an issue.

At the $94 standard price point, I wouldn't recommend this board as there are others out there that are more stable with features like built-in wifi. But if you can snag this on sale ($54 after sale/rebate) you really can't beat the price/performance.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY THIS BOARD

Pros: It sounds like a good board. If I can get it to work (if I ever get the BIOS update chip in the mail), and how long will it work?

Cons: This product does not work with the AMD Athlon X4 processor and I found that out the hard way. Now it looks like a lot of people are. Also ASROCK has TERRIBLE customer service. They said they mailed out the updated BIOS chip to fix the compatibility issue. It has been just over a week. How long does it take to mail a small item from CA to WA? I am not even sure if the board is going to work and function after I install the BIOS chip. Well, I might just have to return it and get another board (from another brand). I don't recommend this product or anything from ASRock. Is this a company run out of someone's garage?

Other Thoughts: Completely unsatisfactory. What a let down. Is it asking too much to buy a new product and have it work? And to have helpful customer service?

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsBe Aware of What Processor You Buy

Pros: Good Price, Overall nice MOBO. Look at CONS lots of BIOS issues!

Cons: I purchased an athlon X4 processor, and now I have to find a way to get rid of it since the mobo won't take the processor with the BIOS version on it. I rather ordered a $50 A-6 processor and am going to return the video card I had to buy (Since Athlon X4 doesn't have integrated graphics) and will find a way to sell the Athlon. Unfortunate.

Other Thoughts: Build:

DIY Mini-ITX chasis (black aluminum with gold feet)
350 W power supply
AMD A-6 5400k
Water Cooled
8 Gb RAM
120 Gb SSD
750 Gb HDD

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat ITX Board

Pros: Great board for the money, HDMI In (for pass through) is a nice feature

Cons: Wish the HDMI In supported capturing

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a basic ITX board, this is it. I'm currently using this for an HTPC and it's been flawless. Highly recommended.

1 out of 5 eggsdied after 2 months new

Pros: As people said, looks like a solid design with solid hardware. Lots of great connections.

Cons: Reliability. One day it worked, the next day comp wouldnt even post to bios.

Other Thoughts: In contact with asrock and I hope they can help in a timely fashion.

This board died on me after 2 months of off and on usage. Monday the comp worked, wednesday i turn it on and nothing. No mobo lights, no ethernet lights, the only thing that works in the comp are my fans. None of the video connections work. Never overclocked or tweaked. Running with a A10-7800 and bare minimum hardware since this is a compact, low power pc. Dont even have a discrete gpu on board.

Isnt asrock a part of the great asus? I knew asrock was budget but I didnt know it was Unreliable Budget Equipment.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer
